Relationship between the Existence of Exercise Partners and Exercise Habits in University Students in Japan

We investigated the relationships between the existence of exercise partners and exercise habits among Japanese university students. Subjects were 650 university students (539 males, 111 females;age range 18 - 27 years). They responded to an anonymous questionnaire asking about current and past exercise habits, preference for exercise (i.e., like or dislike of exercise), and the existence of one or more exercise partners. In the results, the existence of exercise partners had a significant association with exercise habits at each school stage in both genders. Exercise preference had a significant association with exercise habits during high school in both genders;during primary and middle school, however, this association was significant only in males. In males, exercise habits and the preference for exercising in high school affected current exercise habits. In females, only exercise habits in high school affected current exercise habits. Our results suggest that the existence of one or more exercise partners is important for the practice of exercise, as well as the preference for exercise. They also suggest that continuity of exercise habits is different between males and females.

Females with schizophrenia have abnormal functional cortical connectivity in the gamma frequency during an auditory oddball task using magnetoencephalography

We studied differences in imaginary coherence (IC) of the gamma band between brain regions of female schizophrenia patients during the auditory oddball task using magnetoencephalography (MEG). Subjects were 12 right-handed female schizophrenia patients, who were evaluated by the Positive and Negative Syndrome Scales (PANSS). Functional connectivity during an auditory oddball task was reconstructed in low gamma (30 - 50 Hz) and high gamma (50 - 100 Hz and 100 - 150 Hz) bands, and represented by IC using seeds determined by the significant oscillatory power changes obtained by event-related synchronization (ERS) and event-related desynchronization (ERD) power measurements. Gamma ERS (30 - 50 Hz) power was decreased in the left precuneus at 500 - 750 ms and in the right precuneus at 750 - 1000 ms. IC in the gamma band (50 - 100 Hz) was decreased between the right precuneus (seed) and right paracentral lobule (target) and between the right precuneus and right hypothalamus at 0 - 250 ms. IC in the gamma band (100 - 150 Hz) was increased between the left precuneus and right cuneus (Brodmann area 7) at 250 - 500 ms, between the left precuneus and right culmen at 500 - 750 ms, and between the left precuneus and right cuneus (Brodmann area 17), between the left precuneus and right posterior cingulate cortex, and between the left precuneus and right caudate nucleus at 750 - 1000 ms. In the high gamma band (50 - 100 Hz) at 0 - 250 ms, significant positive correlations were shown between IC and conceptual disorganization in PANSS scores, between IC and unusual thought content score, and between IC and positive scale score. IC within the high gamma band in female schizophrenia patients showed two types of functional disconnection, intrahemispheric and interhemispheric. IC between the right or left precuneus and other specific cortical areas showed dysfunction, suggesting that the parietal lobe plays an important role in dysfunction in connectivity in the gamma band during the oddball task.

Measurement of Gamma-Rays from ^11 A B and ^12 A C

From the ^12 C（π^＋,K^＋）^12 AC reaction the γ -rays of 261.6±0.24 ke V（7/2^＋ →5/2^＋）and 1481.7±0.7 ke V（1/2^＋ →5/2^＋） of ^11 A B,and 2667.3±2.8 keV（1^- 2 → 2^- 1）of ^12 A C hypernuclei have been identified using a large germanium detector array Hyperball2 at K6 beam line of KEK. The observed energies of the transitions 1481.7keV and 261.6 keV are significantly different from the values predicted by the shell model using the △ and SN parameters determined from the ^7 △ Li data.

Shell-model Study of Neutron-rich Λ-hypernucleus _Λ^(10)Li

We investigate a Σ-mixing probability of a neutron-rich Λ-hypernucleus 10ΛLi by using microscopic shell-model calculations considering a Λ-Σ coupling in the first order perturbation. The theoretical Σ-mixing probability in 10ΛLi is found to be about 0.48%,due to the appearance of multi-configuration Σ Nuclear excited states which can be strongly coupled with the Λ ground state in 10ΛLi.

Detecting Vicious Cycles in Urban Problem Knowledge Graph using Inference Rules

Urban areas have many problems,including homelessness,graffiti,and littering.These problems are influenced by various factors and are linked to each other;thus,an understanding of the problem structure is required in order to detect and solve the root problems that generate vicious cycles.Moreover,before implementing action plans to solve these problems,local governments need to estimate cost-effectiveness when the plans are carried out.Therefore,this paper proposed constructing an urban problem knowledge graph that would include urban problems’causality and the related cost information in budget sheets.In addition,this paper proposed a method for detecting vicious cycles of urban problems using SPARQL queries with inference rules from the knowledge graph.Finally,several root problems that led to vicious cycles were detected.Urban-problem experts evaluated the extracted causal relations.

γ-ray Spectroscopy of Hypernuclei:Recent KEK Results and Future Plans at J-PARC

In this proceeding,we will first outline the experimental setup and main results of the most recent hypernuclear γ-ray spectroscopy experiment (KEK-E566) performed at KEK-PS K6 beam line. The main feature and characteristics of this type of research will be emphasised. After that,the approved experimental proposal (E13) at J-PARC facility will be introduced briefly.
