Gender Equality, Gender Inequality, and Gender Complementarity： Insights from Igbo Traditional Culture

The aim of this paper is to examine some theories of gender with a view to use them as bases for evaluating, assessing, and analyzing gender equality and inequality in Igbo traditional culture. In pursuance of this aim, particular attention will be paid to Igbo leadership practice. Were men and women equal in traditional Igbo culture？ If they were, which theories of gender equality are thereby corroborated and which are refuted？ Was the political landscape of the traditional Igbo a male terrain or was there a balance between men and women？ What was the degree of participation of both men and women？ The paper lays down certain criteria in order to determine equal or unequal or complementary status. These include access to resources, autonomy, and power. One or two lessons are drawn from the insights.

Awareness of the Potential Threat of Cyberterrorism to the National Security

The revolution of computing and networks could revolutionise terrorism in the same way that it has brought about changes in other aspects of life. The modern technological era has faced countries with a new set of security challenges. There are many states and potential adversaries, who have the potential and capacity in cyberspace, which makes them able to carry out cyber-attacks in the future. Some of them are currently conducting surveillance, gathering and analysis of technical information, and mapping of networks and nodes and infrastructure of opponents, which may be exploited in future conflicts. This paper uses qualitative data to develop a conceptual framework for awareness of cyberterrorism threat from the viewpoint of experts and security officials in critical infrastructure. Empirical data collected from in-depth interviews were analysed using grounded theory approach. This study applied to Saudi Arabia as a case study.

Sectoral Agglomeration and Urban Development： The History of Tunxi--The Tea Business Centre in Huizhou

From the perspective of historical geography, Tunxi as the chosen centre for tea production in the Qing could not be explained geographically alone by the river system of Huizhou, in which stead this article attempts a historicogeographical analysis by shifting our attention towards the sector-specific agglomeration of rel- evant industries and urbanisation. Due to the restrictions by the imperial government on using sea ports （e.g. Shanghai） for the transportation of tea south- wards for sale and export, Tunxi was made the centre for tea trade, not only due to its geographical convenience to tax clearance, but also because of the agglomeration of tea-related industries in the City, such as tin-can, box and bamboo-crate ware- houses. There also had emerged in this process a conglomeration of daily life services, making Tunxi a place of convenience-cure-prosperity. Thus, a combination of both historical and geographical factors can help in no small way to offer a better explanation of the urban development of Tunxi as a tea trade centre in imperial China.

Bibliometrics and Network Analysis of Cryptocurrency Research

Cryptocurrency, as an emerging social phenomenon, has attracted great research attentions and starts to form a new research area in the past decade. A thorough review of the existing cryptocurrency literatures helps us to understand the status-quo and the promising research future of this emerging field. This paper provides a systematic review of the cryptocurrency literatures by employing bibliometrics and network analysis methods. A total of 833 publications from Web of Science Core Collection and Scopus have been collected in the time period of January 2008 to June 2018. We examine the descriptive features, countries’ contributions and collaboration networks, author collaboration networks and reference co-citation networks to identify actors with significant influence in this field. The results show that cryptocurrency research is experiencing exponential growth, but scientific collaborations between different countries and authors are still insufficient. The intellectual bases of the cryptocurrency domain rest on the early-year literatures that provide fundamental understandings for cryptocurrency, and that bridge different research fields. The analysis indicates that the current research trend focuses on cryptocurrency market analysis incorporating market behaviors and trading characteristics.
