More files and documents about the Korean War have been declassified in recent years in different countries than about any other crises and events, providing fertile ground for the mushrooming of numerous research findings in various countries and languages. On the one hand, as the first large-scale military clash between the Eastern and the Western camps since onset of the Cold War, the Korean War might have led to a new world war; on the other hand, it was also the first "limited war" between the two camps that was ended through dialogues and negotiations, hence avoiding an unprecedented catastrophe for humanity. This issue, contributed by Chinese researchers, is meant to explore what factors caused this war and what brought it to an end.展开更多
