High-quality seismic geometry is the key to obtain high-quality seismic data, and can affect the accuracy of data processing and imaging. Based on the analysis of the relationship between the quality of the geometry and the four acquisition parameters(the number of traces, shot line spacing, and the space and number of receiver lines), a quality evaluation method of the geometry based on comprehensive quality factor(CQF) is proposed, and the relationship between the geometry quality and the four parameters is given. We use field data collected in an oil field in Western China with complex geology: First we use a wide azimuth geometry. Then, we calculate the relationship curve between geometry and data quality by varying each parameter while keeping the rest fixed. and the analysis results are given by using the CQF evaluation method. The results show that the shot-line spacing has the greatest effect on the quality of the geometry, and the increase of the receiver line spacing can appropriately improve the quality of the geometry, and the increase of the number of receiving traces can improve the geometry quality. The different acquisition parameters have different effects on the imaging quality of shallow and deep events. The model forward and prestack depth migration are used to generate prestack depth migration profiles with different acquisition parameters. The imaging results are consistent with the above calculated results. According to the depth of the target layer, the quality factor evaluation method is applied to guide the design of the geometry and optimize the acquisition parameters to improve the imaging accuracy of seismic data. 展开更多

A magnetotelluric study was carried out in the Xuefeng mountain uplift belt and its western margins. A detailed investigation was made of the resistivity of the formations, and reliable data were obtained. The sedimentary cover and basement structure of the Xuefeng mountain area and the deep geological structure were analyzed in detail using magnetotelluric data from the twodimensional inversion of the resistivity profile data in combination with regional gravity and magnetic data. It was concluded that the tectonic movements were characterized by basement detachment, and north-south ramp. The study area can be divided into a southern uplift zone, a southern thrust-faulted zone, a central uplift zone, and a northern depression zone. This work has provided geophysical evidence that can be used in future studies of the tectonics and petroleum geology of this region. 展开更多

The control effects of different occurrence faults on oil and gas accumulation and distribution in the outer slope area of oil and gas reservoirs were studied taking the south-central Wen’an slope of the Jizhong depression in the Bohai Bay Basin as an example.Based on 3D seismic data and the distribution of oil and water, the controlling differences between consequent fault and antithetic fault were analyzed and compared from the formation and evolution rule of faults and the formation mechanism of fault traps, including development positions of the consequent fault traps and antithetic fault traps, oil and gas distribution horizon adjusted by fault and formation period of fault traps. The differences between consequent faults and antithetic faults in controlling reservoirs have three main aspects:(1)Consequent fault traps and antithetic fault traps are in different positions, the consequent fault traps are at the segmented growing point in the hanging wall of"hard-linkage"faults,while the antithetic fault traps are developed in the position with the largest throw in the footwall because of tilting action;(2)The two kinds of faults result in different oil and gas distribution vertically, oil and gas adjusted by consequent faults is distributed in a single layer or multi-layers,while oil and gas adjusted by antithetic faults occur in single layers;(3)The two kinds of fault traps are formed in different periods, the consequent fault traps are formed at the time when the related faults enter the stage of"hard-linkage",while the antithetic fault traps are formed at the beginning of the fault active period. 展开更多

In recent years, growing construction projects have been carried out on the reef flat in the South China Sea. As a special marine geotechnical medium, it is made of the reef debris underwent overwhelmingly long geological age. Reefs grow thickly on the carbonate platform after the Late Oligocene and have five to six main sedimentary facies. It can be used as a recorder to measure the occurrence time of recent earthquake. A model of reef body is presented to study the influence of earthquakes according to the geological structure characteristic of reefs in the Nansha Islands. Furthermore, Geo Studio is used to simulate stress and deformation situations within it under various earthquake intensities. A safety factor is calculated by the limit equilibrium method, and the possible scenarios of earthquake-induced landslides and sliding scale are defined with a Newmark sliding block method, as well as stress distribution and deformation behaviors. Therefore, the numerical results suggest that the connections between the coral reef and the earthquake are as follows:(1) the reef body has a good stability under self-gravity state;(2) after the earthquake, it may cause slope's instability and bring out slumping when the safety factor is smaller than 1(FS〈1);(3) the safety factor decreases with the increasing earthquake intensity, and fluctuates around a particular value after a while;and(4) as a new developed part of the reef, the smaller shallow landslide will be easily subject to collapse caused by the earthquake. It is concluded that it is feasible to provide a reference for evaluating the stability of coral reef using a geotechnical engineering simulation method. This can help the engineering constructions in the South China Sea. 展开更多
