Next-generation networks,including the Internet of Things(IoT),fifth-generation cellular systems(5G),and sixth-generation cellular systems(6G),suf-fer from the dramatic increase of the number of deployed devices.This puts high constraints and challenges on the design of such networks.Structural changing of the network is one of such challenges that affect the network performance,includ-ing the required quality of service(QoS).The fractal dimension(FD)is consid-ered one of the main indicators used to represent the structure of the communication network.To this end,this work analyzes the FD of the network and its use for telecommunication networks investigation and planning.The clus-ter growing method for assessing the FD is introduced and analyzed.The article proposes a novel method for estimating the FD of a communication network,based on assessing the network’s connectivity,by searching for the shortest routes.Unlike the cluster growing method,the proposed method does not require multiple iterations,which reduces the number of calculations,and increases the stability of the results obtained.Thus,the proposed method requires less compu-tational cost than the cluster growing method and achieves higher stability.The method is quite simple to implement and can be used in the tasks of research and planning of modern and promising communication networks.The developed method is evaluated for two different network structures and compared with the cluster growing method.Results validate the developed method. 展开更多

Nowadays,the blockchain,Internet of Things,and artificial intelligence technology revolutionize the traditional way of data mining with the enhanced data preprocessing,and analytics approaches,including improved service platforms.Nevertheless,one of the main challenges is designing a combined approach that provides the analytics functionality for diverse data and sustains IoT applications with robust and modular blockchain-enabled services in a diverse environment.Improved data analytics model not only provides support insights in IoT data but also fosters process productivity.Designing a robust IoT-based secure analytic model is challenging for several purposes,such as data from diverse sources,increasing data size,and monolithic service designing techniques.This article proposed an intelligent blockchain-enabled microservice to support predictive analytics for personalized fitness data in an IoT environment.The designed system support microservice-based analytic functionalities to provide secure and reliable services for IoT.To demonstrate the proposed model effectiveness,we have used the IoT fitness application as a case study.Based on the designed predictive analytic model,a recommendation model is developed to recommend daily and weekly diet and workout plans for improved body fitness.Moreover,the recommendation model objective is to help trainers make future health decisions of trainees in terms of workout and diet plan.Finally,the proposed model is evaluated using Hyperledger Caliper in terms of latency,throughput,and resource utilization with varying peers and orderer nodes.The experimental result shows that the proposed model is applicable for diverse resourceconstrained blockchain-enabled IoT applications and extensible for several IoT scenarios. 展开更多

Background: One of potentially dangerous problems for a human organism is the new strain of a virus of bird flu-A/H7N9. As it is regular mutation of bird flu virus, it obvious, that of antibacterial preparations is not efficient. Efficiency decreases when the number of agents with multiple stability to antimicrobic remedy vastly increases, the part of associate infections enlarges, and aggression of opportunistic pathogenic flora rises. This reduces the role of the preparations in prevention of epidemics. Therefore, the optimization of only etiotropic therapies does not fully solve the problem. In this connection natural preparations seem extremely promising which strengthen the functional condition of immune system and, thereby, activate protective forces of macroorganism. Objectives: One of such preparations is BAE Synergy Liquid, a natural mineral water which was underwent subtle energetic changes at the natural energetic deposit. Design: An estimation of protective efficiency of naturally modified mineral BAE SL water was performed on white outbred mice-males in models of H7N9 virus. The animals were monitored during 16 days after infection, and survived and fallen mice were counted daily. Results: The results revealed significant effect of the investigated preparation as possible prophylactic care and medical remedy to the mentioned virus. This means that one can be considered as potential effective remedy for human. Conclusions: As significant effect of the immune system resistance was revealed, the experimental model with studied naturally modified mineral water is potentially generalizable. 展开更多

Although the Software-Defined Network(SDN)is a well-controlled and efficient network but the complexity of open flow switches in SDN causes multiple issues.Many solutions have been proposed so far for the prevention of errors and mistakes in it but yet,there is still no smooth transmission of pockets from source to destination specifically when irregular movements follow the destination host in SDN,the errors include packet loss,data compromise etc.The accuracy of packets received at their desired destination is possible if networks for pockets and hosts are monitored instead of analysis of network snapshot statistically for the state,as these approaches with open flow switches,discover bugs after their occurrence.This article proposes a design to achieve the said objective by defining the Intelligent Transmission Control Layer(ITCL)layer.It monitors all the connections of end hosts at their specific locations and performs necessary settlements when the connection state changes for one or multiple hosts.The layer informs the controller regarding any state change at one period and controller collects information of end nodes reported via ITCL.Then,updates flow tables accordingly to accommodate a location-change scenario with a routechange policy.ICTL is organized on prototype-based implementation using the popular POX platform.In this paper,it has been discovered that ITCL produces efficient performance in the trafficking of packets and controlling different states of SDN for errors and packet loss. 展开更多

Since World Health Organization(WHO)has declared the Coronavirus disease(COVID-19)a global pandemic,the world has changed.All life’s fields and daily habits have moved to adapt to this new situation.According to WHO,the probability of such virus pandemics in the future is high,and recommends preparing for worse situations.To this end,this work provides a framework for monitoring,tracking,and fighting COVID-19 and future pandemics.The proposed framework deploys unmanned aerial vehicles(UAVs),e.g.;quadcopter and drone,integrated with artificial intelligence(AI)and Internet of Things(IoT)to monitor and fight COVID-19.It consists of two main systems;AI/IoT for COVID-19 monitoring and drone-based IoT system for sterilizing.The two systems are integrated with the IoT paradigm and the developed algorithms are implemented on distributed fog units connected to the IoT network and controlled by software-defined networking(SDN).The proposed work is built based on a thermal camera mounted in a face-shield,or on a helmet that can be used by people during pandemics.The detected images,thermal images,are processed by the developed AI algorithm that is built based on the convolutional neural network(CNN).The drone system can be called,by the IoT system connected to the helmet,once infected cases are detected.The drone is used for sterilizing the area that contains multiple infected people.The proposed framework employs a single centralized SDN controller to control the network operations.The developed system is experimentally evaluated,and the results are introduced.Results indicate that the developed framework provides a novel,efficient scheme for monitoring and fighting COVID-19 and other future pandemics. 展开更多
