However, the maintenance of urban ecological security, scientificity, integrality and continuity of ecosystem, as well as scientificity of the defining methods and the effective supervision of the basic ecological control line have become bones of contention. This paper, from the perspective of "anti-planning", synthesized the theories and methods such as urban-rural planning, ecology and GIS, coupled ecological sensitivity assessment and ecological security pattern to define the basic ecological control lines of the planning area in Anqing City. The basic ecological control line area includes ecological baseline area and ecological development area. Management and control strategies of basic ecological control line were elaborated from the following aspects: implementation of the basic ecological control line, protection and utilization of ecological resources within the lines, solutions to existing construction land within the lines, adjustment mechanism and implementation guarantee mechanism of basic ecological control line.展开更多

To eliminate the complexity and uncertainty impacts of human factors on quantitative study,it proposes a method of building a parameter of ergonomic validity—multi-effect time by using cardiotachometer to record heart rate change, being used to evaluate the functional low-carbon ergonomic validity targeting at the ontological characteristics of kitchen. This method is used to determine the physical consumption intensity( multi-effect) through heart rate incremental relation based on the principles of physiology and ergonomics, and to confirm the ergonomic validity of environmental factors by the time to complete standard work as well as multi-effect quantitative analysis. The test results show that, under the kitchen operating conditions, the multi-effect( ME) can properly reflect the real-time status of the operator and is easily operated; the parameters obtained are not significantly related to the physiological status of the operator, and multi-effect time( MT) is sensitive to the physical consumption brought about to the operator due to kitchen environmental factors; thus,it can be taken as an objective index, which is simple and easy to operate in residential kitchen functional low-carbon evaluation.展开更多

This paper took Jianghan District in Wuhan for example, based on the GIS network analysis and vector databases of road network, park and population, to obtain the irregular service range of different types of park and bearing capacity. The results showed that the service range of daily recreation within 20 min accounted for 75.5% of the total area, and the bearing capacity of Lingjiaohu Park, Wangjiadun Park, and Longwangmiao Park was low. It was thus concluded that there were visible blind areas and invisible blind areas in Jianghan District. Therefore, specific optimized layout of parkland was implemented in different blind areas to effectively combine park green space and residents' recreational activities, so as to achieve reasonable layout of urban parkland.展开更多

According to the development of medical model from the deity worship to modern medical science, a near-nature and ecological therapeutic and recuperative model has been more favored, thus in modern therapeutic environment, proper landscape designs can be combined with effective medical methods to achieve physical and mental immunoregulation and balance using natural and quality climatic factors. This paper introduced the development of natural science and medicinal model in different periods, and analyzed their impact on environment, concluded the benefi ts of therapeutic medicine, and demonstrated the signifi cance of therapeutic environment and landscape healing as the therapeutic factors for facilitating human rehabilitation from the perspective of therapeutic medicine. Taking "evidence-based design" as the basis of therapeutic environment design, this paper proposed landscape design methods for the therapeutic environment, in order to provide people opportunities for closing to, sharing and participating in the nature, help people to relax physically and psychologically using the positive impact of natural environment on human spirits, relieve their stress, and achieve physical and psychological peace. In addition, the development tendency of therapeutic environment in China was predicted according to the actual conditions of urban society.展开更多

The cluster of stilted buildings (Diaojiao Lou in Mandarin Pinyin) in the Pengjia Village (meaning most of the villagers share the surname of Peng) is presented as a case study in this paper. The paper makes a case for their preservation as authentic carriers of the Tujia people’s cultural history, which is quickly disappearing due to development pressures. Three preservation strategies are discussed to meet this preservation goal. The first is to provide a detail analysis of the construction language to guarantee authenticity in the documentation, preservation and restoration processes of the stilted buildings. The second is to keep alive the expert knowledge and skill of traditional artisans by involving them in the construction of new structures using diaojiaolou techniques. The third strategy is to encourage local people to “dress-up” discordant buildings constructed mid to late 20th century with well-mannered facades using traditional details such as suspension columns, shuaqi, and six-panel and bang doors. Taking as a whole, these strategies are presented to help local residents, preservation experts, developers and policy makers sustain the irreplaceable cultural heritage and economic independence of the Tujia people.展开更多

Based on the status quo of research on the history of Chinese maps, the paper proposes existing problems and argues that ancient Chinese city maps are a kind of "ideological images." Then, it focuses on the relationship between maps and cities. From the perspective of urban planning and architectural studies, it explores the corresponding roles of different maps(chorography, large-scale city maps, and regional maps) in city image, urban structure, and regional urban structure. Finally, it elaborates the significance of combining literature references with actual image analysis, to promote the research on ancient cities through both quantitative analysis based on ancient city database and research tools.展开更多
