Application of Midjournal and Stable Diffusion in Environmental Art and Design Courses in Higher Education Institutions

This study was aimed to explore the feasibility of introducing two mainstream AI drawing applications,Midjournal and Stable Diffusion,into the environmental art and design courses in higher education institutions.On the basis of introducing the development history of AI drawing technology,the characteristics of Midjournal and Stable Diffusion and their applications in teaching were described in detail.The analysis on its practical application in public space design courses showed that AI drawing technology could significantly improve students’creative efficiency and the possibility of artistic creation,while also enriching the expressive power of design.In spite of the challenges such as technical accuracy,response to complex design requirements,hardware dependencies,and student dependencies,the application of AI drawing technology had an overall positive prospects in the field of education.Finally,the value of AI drawing technology in teaching was emphasized,and the challenges it brought were discussed,as well as how to fully utilize this technology while maintaining teaching objectives and educational principles.

Frontier Progress of Landscape Character Assessment in China

The role of Landscape Character Assessment(LCA)at the level of territorial landscape governance spans both natural and social sciences.By analyzing the development history,research distribution,methods and applications of cutting-edge cases of LCA in China,the following conclusions are drawn:①the LCA research in China originated earlier than that in Europe,but has not yet been systematically applied to the implementation of urban and rural planning at all levels;②the fundamental theory of LCA in China has been well constructed,with three main research directions:technologyled,assessment-led,and assessment combined with other theories;③the development of LCA in rural areas is more mature than in urban areas,but the progress of research is uneven across regions;④the current research presents significant“bottom-up”academic characteristics,and there is an urgent need for government decision-making authorities and academia to jointly promote a“top-down”standardized governance mechanism to comprehensively promote the modernization of territorial landscape governance.

Spatial Optimization and Reconstruction of Old Communities under the Background of Aging

As aging becomes increasingly serious,how to make the life of the elderly more convenient and comfortable has become one of the social problems to be solved urgently.Old residential areas are one of spaces where the elderly gather.In this paper,the prominent problems in the community space of existing old residential areas that are not conducive to the life of the elderly were analyzed,and corresponding countermeasures to transform the community space were put forward.It is hoped that public space can play its due value and make old residential areas glow with new vitality.

Construction of Urban Mixed-age Community: Opportunities, Challenges and Countermeasures: A Case Study of“Fangjia Hutong”in Beijing

In the context of China’s economic development and population aging,the innovation and exploration of the old-age care model has emerged as a new community transformation and development direction.Given the differing needs and characteristics of individuals across the lifespan,it is evident that a design approach that incorporates mixed-age integration and mutual-help communities is a viable strategy for enhancing intergenerational exchanges.This entails the creation of a diverse and open community that is conducive to habitation for individuals of all ages,encompassing the full spectrum of needs,from those of young children to the elderly.Such a community must be designed and constructed with the population in mind,from the initial planning and design stages to the operational phase.This encompasses a comprehensive range of services,including food,clothing,housing,transportation,and medical care and recreation.

Urban Spatial Form Optimization Strategies Based on the Principle of Climate Adaptability of Regional Architecture: A Case Study of Traditional Cave Dwelling Villages in Northern Shaanxi Province

A multitude of climate-adaptive design approaches are embedded in regional architecture,which have a positive impact on addressing the deformed development of urban spatial patterns and the dual challenges of climate and resources.This paper examines the principles of climate adaptability embedded in the site layout and spatial organization characteristics of traditional cave dwelling villages in northern Shaanxi Province.The extracted climate adaptability principles are summarized,and the resulting design strategies that are well-suited to the contemporary urban space form are presented.Through analysis,it can be observed that traditional cave dwelling villages in northern Shaanxi are predominantly situated on south-facing slopes in proximity to water at low altitudes.These villages are characterized by compact building groups and east-west development,which is constrained by the elements of mountains and rivers.A two-level street system is generated,comprising streets parallel to the contour line and roadways perpendicular to the contour line.This results in the formation of a courtyard form enclosed by mountains.Such site layout and spatial organization exhibit excellent climate adaptability with regard to heat,ventilation,and wind storage.In light of the aforementioned considerations,the following urban spatial form design strategies are put forth:①the topographic height difference can be exploited to obtain sufficient sunshine;②the group shape can be optimized in order to reduce building energy consumption;③the best orientation of the building can be chosen to take account of both winter and summer conditions;④the height and length can be combined in order to form natural masking;⑤the D/H ratio of streets and roadways should be controlled to achieve a balance between heat gain and cooling of groups;⑥vents should be set appropriately to optimize group ventilation;⑦climate buffers should be established to increase the level of climate response.

The Establishment of the Innovative and Practical Teaching Mode for Architecture Majors with the Help of “Schools-Enterprises-Governments-Research Institutions”

This paper focuses on the establishment of the teaching mode of innovative and practical architectural professionals, which is assisted by colleges and universities, enterprises, governments and research institutions. This paper believes that through the reform of the teaching mode, we can solve the problems such as the ivory-towered teaching of architecture in colleges and universities, the superficial teaching contents, inadequate teaching staff, students' poor innovation practice ability and tight professional funds. It is expected that this paper can provide assistance for architecture majors in the guidance of innovative ideas, the building of practical ability, and the establishment of knowledge system.

Evolvement of concept is the core force that pushes forward the unceasing development of art and architecture, art and architecture as concept always influence and interact with each other and create a new dimension. Both architects and artists try to express their opinions using the individualized works and practices in the context of changing values in social transformation, which has become the significance of contemporary architectural design and artistic creation.

Spatiotemporal evolution and prediction of habitat quality in Hohhot City of China based on the InVEST and CA-Markov models

With the acceleration of urbanization,changes in the urban ecological environment and landscape pattern have led to a series of prominent ecological environmental problems.In order to better coordinate the balanced relationship between city and ecological environment,we selected land use change data to evaluate the habitat quality in Hohhot City of China,which is of great practical significance for regional urban and economic development.Thus,the integrated valuation of ecosystem services and tradeoffs(InVEST)and Cellular Automata-Markov(CA-Markov)models were used to analyze,predict,and explore the Spatiotemporal evolution path and characteristics of urban land use,and forecast the typical evolution pattern of land use in 2030.The results showed that the land use types in Hohhot City changed significantly from 2000 to 2020,and the biggest change took place in cultivated land,grassland,shrub,and artificial surface.The decrease of cultivated land area and the increase of artificial surface area were the main impact trend of land use change.The average value of habitat quality had been decreasing continuously from 2000 to 2020,and the values of habitat degradation were 0.2605,0.2494,and 0.2934 in 2000,2010,and 2020,respectively,showing a decreasing trend.The decrease of habitat quality was caused by the needs of economic development and urban construction,as well as the impact of land occupation.During this evolution,many cultivated land and urban grassland had been converted into construction land.The simulated land use changes in 2030 are basically the same as those during 2000-2020,and the habitat quality will still be declining.The regional changes are influenced by the urban rapid development and industrial layout.These results can provide decision-making reference for regional urban planning and management as well as habitat quality evaluation.

Inconsistent increasing of climate potential productivity resulting from global warming and land use transitions in the Dongting Lake Basin,from 2000 to 2020

In the face of global warming and increasing impervious surfaces,quantifying the change of climate potential productivity(CPP)is of great significance for the food production planning.Targeting the Dongting Lake Basin,which is a key area for food production in China,this paper uses meteorological data,as well as Climate Change Initiative Land Cover,and Shuttle Radar Topography Mission digital elevation model to investigate the CPP and its changes from 2000 to 2020.The suitability of land for cultivation(SLC),and the land use/land cover change(LUCC)are also considered.The results showed that the CPP varied from 9,825 to 20,895 kg ha^(-1).Even though the newly added impervious surfaces indirectly resulted in the decrease of CPP by of 9.81×10~8 kg,overall,the CPP increased at an average rate of 83.7 kg ha^(-1)a^(-1).Global warming is the strongest driver behind CPP increase,and CPP has played an important role in the conversions between cultivated land and other land types.The structure of land types tends to be optimized against this challenge.

Big Data Analysis and Optimization Suggestions of Cultural Facilities in Shijingshan District,Beijing City

With the successful holding of Beijing Winter Olympic Games in 2022,the planning and cultural services of Shijingshan District have been reviewed,but the systematic planning theory has not been fully applied.Through the big data research method,the location advantages and disadvantages of Shijingshan District were analyzed,and the distribution of its cultural facilities was defined.Feasible optimization schemes were proposed according to its advantages and disadvantages as well as the experience and conditions of the Winter Olympics.

The Ecological Aesthetics of Funeral Architecture towards Death:A Case Study of Tomba Brion Family Cemetery

This paper discusses the design of funeral architecture with ecological aesthetics as the entry point,and makes a poetic interpretation of the gardening techniques and spiritual connotation of Tomba Brion Family Cemetery,a funeral architecture,in combination with architecture,ecological design aesthetics,landscape ecology,oriental aesthetics and other disciplines to explore the unique charm of the architectural field related to death for life,trying to provide the reference value of ecological aesthetics for the development of funeral architecture.

Tourism Development Mode of Historical and Cultural Blocks from the Perspective of Urban Renewal Based on Online Review Data:A Case Study of Nanluoguxiang in Beijing

Under the background of urban renewal, this paper re-explores the tourism development modeof Nanluoguxiang historical and cultural block based on online review data, and puts forward correspondingdevelopment strategies. As a cultural label of a city, historical and cultural blocks should be updated first inorder to achieve sustainable development. By using multi-source big data review and qualitative researchmethods, the perception evaluation of tourists in Nanluoguxiang is obtained, and the shortcomings ofcurrent tourism development mode are analyzed. Furthermore, corresponding improvement strategies andsuggestions are put forward, in order to provide some effective ideas for the sustainable development ofhistorical and cultural blocks in the future.

Review and Development Trends of Dynamic Adaptive Building Skin Research Based on CiteSpace Analysis

Building skin plays an important role in reducing energy consumption,and low-carbon ecology has become the development goal of architecture all over the world.Through the dynamic control of variable components on the surface,the building with dynamic adaptive building skin can better adapt to the climate,thus achieving better energy saving effects.By searching the articles in the web of science database and using CiteSpace software for visualization analysis,this paper analyzes the research process,research hotspot and research trend of dynamic adaptive building skin from the perspectives of time,quantity,distribution domain,representative experts and articles,institutions,keywords,co-citations and main research contents.It is concluded that the development trend of dynamic adaptive building skin includes the application of efficiency simulation,new materials,bionic technology,and the combination of solar photovoltaics.

Conception and Planning of Campus Landscape Combined with Nature Education Based on Species Survey:A Case Study of North China University of Technology

From the perspective of habitats and species diversity in biodiversity,the species and richness of plants and animals in the campus green spaces of North China University of Technology were surveyed comprehensively by natural observation and field investigation.A total of 118 species of plants and 70species of animals were investigated.The relationship between plants and animals on the campus was analyzed qualitatively.Based on this,the richness of species in the plots suitable for natural education in the sites was investigated and analyzed,and the situations in different seasons were compared to plan natural education areas and trails.In addition,the ways to increase the biodiversity of the sites,the connection between habitats and landscape elements,and the setting of relevant landscape sites were discussed,and it was proposed to integrate more natural education methods to attract people to carry out natural education of biodiversity in the university campus with a learning atmosphere.

Application Research and Case Analysis of Green Technology in Building Engineering under the Direction of Energy Conservation Demands

With the rapid development of the economy,the scale of construction projects in China is gradually expanding.In terms of construction technology,continuous innovation is being made to meet the needs of sustainable development strategies,and green energy conservation technologies have emerged.It has a brand new design concept,and advocates for maximum energy conservation and environmental protection,fundamentally promoting the rational use of resources and space,and preventing the expansion of air and land pollution.First of all,a brief explanation is given on the current development status of green energy conservation technology in this paper.Secondly,through the introduction and analysis of energy conservation technologies and related building cases,the in-depth research on energy conservation measures of buildings is conducted.Finally,the prospects of green energy conservation technologies are proposed based on the current development status in China.This paper has certain reference value for its related engineering and theoretical research.

Space Color Design of Medical and Nursing Institutions Based on Adaptive Aging Characteristics

With the acceleration of China’s aging process and the rapid development of social economy,the government’s strong support for the integration of medical and nursing has made the construction of medical and nursing buildings more efficient.At the same time,the need for old-age care is more diversified and hierarchical,and the life cycle is more obvious.Designing an aging color environment for the elderly with different visual abilities in medical care buildings has become a problem for investors,operators and designers.This paper takes the indoor color of medical and nursing buildings as the research object,and combines the characteristics of the elderly’s visual acuity and the ratio and efficacy of indoor colors to investigate two high-end medical and nursing institutions in Beijing and Nanjing.Based on the physical,psychological and behavioral needs,this paper explores the appropriate aging color design method for the living space of the elderly in the medical institutions,aiming to make a meagre effort for the in-depth research and practice of indoor environment design of medical institutions in the future.

Research on the Outdoor Activities and Spatial Characteristics of the Elderly in College Communities:Taking a University in Northern China as an Example

In view of the aging population in the country,college communities can better meet the needs of the elderly in the community by developing hardware facilities,environmental resources,and management systems.However,in China,the research on elderly care in colleges is still in its infancy.The paper presents an analysis on the characteristics of the elderly group,outdoor activities,and space characteristics in college communities through the field survey of a university in the north,questionnaire survey and interview with the elderly.Suggestions for optimizing the outdoor activities space of the elderly in college communities are then provided,hoping to provide some reference for relevant research.

Exploring the Path of Shantytown Renewal Based on the Theory of Environment-behavior Studies: A Case Study of the Northwest Area of Saihantala in Baotou City

The application of environment-behavior studies plays an important role in studying the renewal of shantytowns.One of the most humane ways of renewal is designing and constructing the necessary urban spatial environment from the perspective of human daily behavior.Most of the shantytown renovation projects currently carried out in China are mainly focused on demolition and reconstruction,which not only incurs high costs but also damages the original social structure and economic model.During the process of shantytown renewal,it should improve the urban landscape,living environment,and life quality of residents,and ensure the daily life of shantytown residents without increasing their economic burden,and preserve the traces of urban development.In order to achieve this goal,it should explore the renewal strategies of shantytowns from the perspective of environment-behavior studies through behavior maps,on-site research,and literature review.Updating and design from a human perspective often achieve faster and better development;the renewal of shantytowns should be a bottom-up approach and start from a grassroots perspective,completing the renovation design through the composition of the population and behavioral patterns.

Window Views of Wards in Foreign Hospitals

Through the collection and systematic analysis of documents related to window views of hospitals,it is found that natural window views had a significant impact on patients’health benefits.The research focused on three aspects:“shortening length of stay”,“pain reduction”and“improvement of recovery rate”,mainly covering three types of patients:“heart patients”,“postoperative patients”and“patients of rehabilitation centers”.Based on the above analysis,summary and sorting,new directions and perspectives of hospital environment design and research under the concept of comprehensive health of people’s physiological,psychological and social adaptation will be obtained to provide references for the research and practice of health architecture,rehabilitation architecture,biophile design and other fields.
