Research on Preschoolers’Comprehension of Safety Signs and Its Influencing Factors

As an integral part of children’s safety education,safety signs hold significant importance for preschoolers’safety.This study aims to investigate the comprehension level of safety signs and its influencing factors among preschoolers and explore the role of background factors such as safety education in children’s learning of safety signs.Sixty-seven preschoolers participated in the questionnaire investigation on 11 safety signs.The results were encoded by a binary method and subjected to descriptive analysis and multiple correspondence analysis.The results indicated that preschoolers can understand symbols,but there is a certain degree of arbitrariness.The existing thematic education fails to improve their understanding of safety signs.This study provides a theoretical basis for improving and optimizing child safety education.

Study on the Digital Art Design and Practice of the Visual Elemems of Minority in Ningxia

Digital art design refers to the art and design activities that are implemented based on computers and related digital equipments. Today, the digital art has been extensively applied in all sorts of social areas and relevant industries such as animation, design, film and television production, games, advertising, multimedia design, and network. Research on Protection Methods of Historic and Cultural Villages in Zhejiang Province

By the investigation of a few historical and cultural villages in Zhejiang Province,some problems during the process of protecting these villages were found,like similar construction pattern,coarse quality of construction,etc. which caused that villages were losing their characters. For this situation,the protection method of historical cultural villages was put forward,which was that to connect excavating character of different village with maintaining spatial fabrics of historical villages,and that different classes of building should have corresponding protection approach. Some advices were proposed for repairing and promoting historic and cultural elements,natural environment,and constructing infrastructure in the village,which will provide a reference for the construction of other historical and cultural villages.

Carbon Emissions Embodied in China’s International Trade of Textiles and Clothing

International trade of textiles and clothing has numerous environmental implications, such as carbon leakage. In order to estimate the CO2 emissions embodied in China's imports and exports of textiles and clothing, an empirical analysis was carried out with environmental input-output analysis (EIOA) method using the most recent data available. The results indicate that China is a net exporter of embodied CO2 emissions on account of its international trade of textiles and clothing. The amount of the net exported embodied CO2 emissions increases from 110 million metric tons(Mt) of CO2 in 2002 to 280 Mt of CO2 in 2011. In particular, United States, Japan, and European Union transfer to China 339 Mt of CO2, 291 Mt of CO2 and 396 Mt of CO2 respectively during the period of 2002 -2011.

Engineered Wood/Bamboo Laminated Composites for Outdoor Hydrophilic Platforms:Structural Design and Performance

Landscape designers increasingly prefer to use wood/bamboo-based composites for outdoor hydrophilic platforms owing to their natural surface texture,high performance,and sustainability to facilitate extensive interaction between people and water and enable the full range of ecological functions of water resources.In this study,four laminated composite(LC)structures were designed and manufactured using fluffed bamboo and wood veneers.Their surface textures,profile densities,water resistances,and mechanical properties were then evaluated.The type of fluffed veneer of the surface layer determined the texture of the LC surface.The specific structures of fluffed bamboo and wood veneer laminations were found to affect the LC profile density variability,water resistance,and mechanical properties owing to the differences in the strength and interfacial properties of bamboo and wood fibers.Finally,the water resistance and mechanical properties of all four LCs were found to be much higher than the highest level specified in GB/T 20241-2006 for“laminated veneer lumber”and GB/T 30364-2013 for“bamboo scrimber flooring”,indicating that they are promising materials for structures and flooring,particularly for outdoor hydrophilic platforms.

Review of Restoration Technology and Multi-environmental Factors Analysis of West Lake Ecosystem in Hangzhou City

The urban lake ecosystem has the characteristics of long-term,complex and comprehensive in its ecological restoration process because it is related to social and economic activities at multiple levels.Located in Hangzhou City,China,the West Lake is a national-level scenic spot and a world heritage cultural landscape.It provides key ecosystem services for the city and has a significant impact on the urban ecological environment and the well-being of citizens.The West Lake has undergone an 1800-year governance process in history,realizing the harmonious coexistence with Hangzhou City.Since modern times,due to the rapid development of urbanization and industrialization,the water quality of the West Lake and its freshwater ecosystem have been greatly damaged.Since 2002,Hangzhou City has achieved the overall restoration of the West Lake ecosystem through a series of measures,such as water diversion projects,dredging projects,and the West Lake comprehensive protection project,and the water environment and lakeshore landscape have been greatly improved.This study analyzed the restoration technology of the West Lake ecosystem from two scales of the watershed and the site and discussed the water ecological governance system of the West Lake in the past 20 years.Through thedata analyses of the West Lake land use,vegetation,TP,TN,NH_(3)-N,COD_(Mn) and other multi-environmental factors,the results showed that the water quality,transparency and eutrophication of the West Lake had been greatly improved.At the same time,the application of large-scale restoration methods and technologies also required long-term observation,and attention should be paid to the proliferation of alien species and the loss of heritage value,so as to further avoid potential ecological risks caused by ecological restoration.

New Trends of Material Design in Indoor Environment

Material is the substance foundation and carrier of indoor environment, and it is the premise and guarantee to realize the excellent indoor environment. It contains physical and sensory properties. In recent years, the material design in indoor environment tends to be more rational, it not only pursues the external performance of material, but also pays more attention to the health and emotional of residents on the basis of scientific and rational use of its properties. This paper based on some scientific methods of literature study, field survey and case study combs the new trends of material design and analyses specific performance and application of materials in development. It is expected that the research can enrich the theory of contemporary material design and provide valuable reference for future material and interior environment design.

Optimal Design of Rural Human Settlements Under the Background of New Era

The optimization of rural human settlements has made great achievements in the rapid development of China’s social economy,but from the overall effect,there are still many problems to be solved in the construction of rural human settlements.Based on the current situation of rural human settlements,this study investigated and analyzed the existing problems of rural human settlements.On this basis,the principles of optimal design of rural human settlements under the background of the new era and specific improvement measures were clarified,hoping to provide some reference for the future optimization of rural human settlements.

The “Hyperreality” Utopia: Analysis of the Landscape Architecture of Disneyland from a Semiotic Perspective

Modern society has become a society of the spectacle that centers on production and consumption of visual signs. The sign is no longer in its natural state but gets involved in the society of the spectacle with massive reproduction and representation. Literature review and semiotic principles were applied to summarize the landscape architecture of Disneyland. This study proposed the following three arguments by correlating Baudrillard's concept "hyperreality" with the landscape architecture of Disneyland: the disappearance of history in landscape architecture, simulacra reproduction in landscape architecture and the consumerism tendency in landscape architecture. The analysis of Disneyland's landscape architecture from a semiotic perspective will be a more profound examination of landscape architecture.

Mountain landscape is a significant landscape type among all natural landscape resources, design of constructions in mountain landscapes should take multiple factors into consideration. Taking Science Popularization and Education Hall of Jiangxi Wuyi Mountain Nature Reserve for example, this paper explored the architectural design in mountain landscapes from the perspectives of spatial form, facade design, color materials and design experience, in order to achieve the integration of landscape constructions and natural environment.

Study on the Sustainable Development of Rural Landscape in the UK:Take the Cotswolds as an Example

With the acceleration of globalization and urbanization,rural areas in China,particularly traditional villages have been faced with various problems and the development bottleneck.On the contrary,rural areas in the UK are well-known for picturesque scenery and outstanding characteristics,and able to maintain the sustainable vitality and charm in economy and culture,rural areas in the UK make successful examples for the global rural construction and development.This paper took Cotswolds in the UK for example,analyzed the maintenance and continuation of traditional rural landscapes in the UK from the perspectives of natural scenery,overall layout,folk dwellings,yard plants and so on.On the other hand,the paper explored the all-around sustainable development of rural landscapes in the UK from the perspectives of internal drives such as intangible cultural confidence,production mode,economic foundation and environmental protection.The study tried to provide references for the sustainable development of rural landscapes in China.

On the Construction and Development of Strategies to Stimulate Learners＇ Motivation Concept and Evaluation Model

This paper starts from the theoretical basis of constructivism and development evaluation study that learns the principles of communication, the use of educational psychology and other disciplines of knowledge. It is to build a developmental evaluation and characteristics for the idea to the attention of the relevant confidence to meet and the evaluator＇ s expectations as of the five elements to stimulate learning motivation, build developmental evaluation principles to stimulate learning motivation of process model. Seven strategies are to stimulate and sustain the motivation of college students, while emphasizing mentor in the process of converting role as learner and developmental evaluation. Related strategies are used in the actual teaching of ＂Mechanical Engineering Materials＂ , ＂Graduation Design＂ , ＂Engineer Training＂ course, and it achieved satisfactory teaching effect, playing a role in promoting real learning and comprehensive evaluation of the development of college students.

Preliminary Exploration on the Application of Saussure Sign Concept in Bio-Inspired Design: A Case of Tiantoushui Doll-Design

Simply, shape bionics is to extract an image feature of natural objects, and most of the techniques for transforming and presenting are focused on metaphorical effects. In particular, the extraction process of metaphor design seems to be related to the concept of Saussure signs. Therefore, this research took the doll design of the Tiantoushui community in Changhua County, Taiwan as an example and attempted to use the Saussure concept to extract and evaluate the signs of bio-inspired design. The results showed that a total of three doll works symbolized respectively rice, guava, and pomelo implied the signification of local region by integrating the Saussure code image with the sign-image of the regional nature and transforming its content into “commodity design” and further transferring into “the product value of cultural and creative”. In addition, the specific extraction process included 1) Extraction of image—adjectives in creative products;2) Meaning space of image—adjec- tives in creative products;3) Extraction and determination of design elements of creative products, and 4) Combined the sensibility of creative products and design elements to derive design rules. After preliminary exploration of the extraction steps above, a concrete and efficient bio-inspired design process was proposed in this work. Besides, it was inferred that if further combined with the post-modern design style, it may not only simplify the design elements of creative products but also enhance the design connotations in the future.
