The dilemma of the Jiaodong gold deposits: Are they unique? 被引量:106

The ca. 126e120 Ma Au deposits of the Jiaodong Peninsula, eastern China, define the country's largest gold province with an overall endowment estimated as&gt;3000 t Au. The vein and disseminated ores are hosted by NE-to NNE-trending brittle normal faults that parallel the margins of ca. 165e150 Ma, deeply emplaced, lower crustal melt granites. The deposits are sited along the faults for many tens of kilometers and the larger orebodies are associated with dilatational jogs. Country rocks to the granites are Pre-cambrian high-grade metamorphic rocks located on both sides of a Triassic suture between the North and South China blocks. During early Mesozoic convergent deformation, the ore-hosting structures developed as ductile thrust faults that were subsequently reactivated during Early Cretaceous "Yan-shanian"intracontinental extensional deformation and associated gold formation. 〈br〉 Classification of the gold deposits remains problematic. Many features resemble those typical of orogenic Au including the linear structural distribution of the deposits, mineralization style, ore and alteration assemblages, and ore fluid chemistry. However, Phanerozoic orogenic Au deposits are formed by prograde metamorphism of accreted oceanic rocks in Cordilleran-style orogens. The Jiaodong de-posits, in contrast, formed within two Precambrian blocks approximately 2 billion years after devolati-lization of the country rocks, and thus require a model that involves alternative fluid and metal sources for the ores. A widespread suite of ca. 130e123 Ma granodiorites overlaps temporally with the ores, but shows a poor spatial association with the deposits. Furthermore, the deposit distribution and mineral-ization style is atypical of ores formed from nearby magmas. The ore concentration requires fluid focusing during some type of sub-crustal thermal event, which could be broadly related to a combination of coeval lithospheric thinning, asthenospheric upwelling, paleo-Pacific plate subduction, and seismicity along the continental-scale Tan-Lu fault. Possible ore genesis scenarios include those where ore fluids were produced directly by the metamorphism of oceanic lithosphere and overlying sediment on the subducting paleo-Pacific slab, or by devolatilization of an enriched mantle wedge above the slab. Both the sulfur and gold could be sourced from either the oceanic sediments or the serpentinized mantle. A better understanding of the architecture of the paleo-Pacific slab during Early Cretaceous below the eastern margin of China is essential to determination of the validity of possible models. 展开更多

A glasshouse experiment using a rhizobox technique was conducted to examine salt dynamics in the rhizosphere of a salt-tolerant grass, Puccinellia ciliata Bor. ’Irwin Hunter’, grown in a loamy soil, and to study the effect of rainfall flush on salt accumulation in the rhizosphere. The rhizobox (10 × 5.5 × 50 cm) had a nylon mesh (1 μm) positioned vertically in the middle to create two compartments filled with soil amended with 1 g NaCl kg-1. The plants were grown in one compartment only. Flushed treatments received 275 mL of deionized water two days before harvest. In the plant-growing compartment, soils were sectioned vertically at 5 cm intervals. Significant differences in soil electrical conductivity (EC) (P < 0.05) and pH (P < 0.05) were observed for depths, but not between flushed and non-flushed treatments. In the no-plant compartment (rhizosphere), soil cores were taken horizontally at depths of 5, 20 and 40 cm and sliced at 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 10, 15 and 20 mm away from the roots. Soil EC and Cl- concentration at the 5 and 20 cm depths, and Na+ concentration at the 5 cm depth significantly decreased (P < 0.05) with the distance away from the root, but no significant differences were observed in soil pH and concentrations of the K+ and Ca2+. The flush treatment only had significant influence on soil EC, pH, and Cl- concentration at the 20 cm depth. Thus, salt accumulation could occur in the rhizosphere of salt-tolerant species on saline soils, and the periodic low rainfall might not have a strong influence on salt distribution in the rhizosphere and/or root zone. 展开更多

在我国西部致使玉门砾岩强烈褶皱变形的构造运动是喜马拉雅运动中重要的一幕。祁连山北缘老君庙逆断裂-褶皱带前翼发育的生长地层为认识玉门砾岩褶皱的过程提供了重要证据。通过对这套生长地层及其内部渐进不整合几何形态和结构的详细... 在我国西部致使玉门砾岩强烈褶皱变形的构造运动是喜马拉雅运动中重要的一幕。祁连山北缘老君庙逆断裂-褶皱带前翼发育的生长地层为认识玉门砾岩褶皱的过程提供了重要证据。通过对这套生长地层及其内部渐进不整合几何形态和结构的详细填图以及磁性地层年代学研究,认为玉门砾岩的底界具有穿时性,其年龄可能由东南向西北变小,其底界年龄在牛胳套剖面约4Ma,在青草湾西剖面约3.55Ma。玉门砾岩的褶皱变形在牛胳套剖面起始于约3Ma,沉积速率由约260m/Ma变为170m/Ma,在青草湾西剖面起始于约1.2Ma。结合构造变形的样式、强度及侵蚀程度推断老君庙逆断裂-褶皱带是以约7.8km/Ma的速率由东南向西北侧向扩展生长的。发育在背斜前翼的多个退覆-超覆生长楔表明玉门砾岩的褶皱变形由3—4个活跃期和平静期组成。这反映了祁连山及其北部前陆盆地内褶皱逆冲席体向前陆方向的不断扩展生长过程,但并不能简单地以此作为整个祁连山或青藏高原多次垂直隆升的证据。 展开更多

青藏高原边界地区的研究,尤其是砾石研究,对探讨青藏高原的隆升过程及隆升机制具有重要意义。本文选取青藏高原东北部香山山前小洪沟剖面,对出露的新生界各层位的砾石进行统计。统计结果显示,该剖面寺口子组上段、红柳沟组下段、红柳沟... 青藏高原边界地区的研究,尤其是砾石研究,对探讨青藏高原的隆升过程及隆升机制具有重要意义。本文选取青藏高原东北部香山山前小洪沟剖面,对出露的新生界各层位的砾石进行统计。统计结果显示,该剖面寺口子组上段、红柳沟组下段、红柳沟组上段、第四系以及现今河床出露的砾石成分主要为砂岩和石英砂岩,这与香山地区岩性相符合;砾石主要呈次圆状和次棱角状;长短轴比主要为1~2之间,为近圆状;砾石主要集中在中砾和小砾类别;分选好至中等好。砾石粒径分布显示出向细粒成分偏的特征,主要呈尖峰正态分布。这些特征表明各层位砾石相似的搬运过程,为中距离山前河流冲积砾石。沉积分析表明该砾石与气候振荡无必然联系,为构造隆升的产物。砾石沉积年龄由邻区磁性地层定年结果来限定。砾石特征结合邻区沉积分析表明香山地区在寺口子组沉积时(始新世)已具有相当大的高程;至清水营组沉积时(渐新世),该山体被剥蚀夷平;到红柳沟组沉积时(中新世早、中期),香山经历了再次的隆升;至干河沟组沉积时(中新世晚期到上新世),构造趋于稳定;到更新世时,再次出现隆升事件。始新世香山山体可能与晚白垩世至新生代早期的构造事件有关,中新世的隆升时间可以作为印-藏碰撞效应到达香山地区的时限,显示青藏高原东北边界新生代的变形隆升时间较前人研究结果早,且存在多期隆升。 展开更多

采用现场采样及室内分析测试方法,对海南岛26个农业土壤剖面淋溶层、淀积层、母质层中7种重金属元素的分布特征进行研究。结果发现,重金属元素在淋溶层和淀积层的含量变化幅度与母质层含量变化幅度具有一定的正相关关系,土壤重金属分布... 采用现场采样及室内分析测试方法,对海南岛26个农业土壤剖面淋溶层、淀积层、母质层中7种重金属元素的分布特征进行研究。结果发现,重金属元素在淋溶层和淀积层的含量变化幅度与母质层含量变化幅度具有一定的正相关关系,土壤重金属分布在总体上受成土母质层制约。除As、Pb外,大部分重金属元素在各层中的含量低于世界土壤平均值,但也有部分重金属元素通过淋溶使表层土壤中少量重金属元素迁移而至淀积层中积累。除Cd有机态含量最低外,各层中重金属元素在淋溶层、淀积层、母质层中均显示可交换态含量最低,而残渣态含量最高。区内土壤表层7种重金属分布总体上可归为3类:Cr、Ni、Cd3种重金属元素的土壤表层平均含量较低,变异系数小,表层元素主要继承于母质层;Cu、Zn组中的Zn可能存在一定的外源混入,但Cu、Zn在土壤表层未发生富集;而As、Pb等重金属元素不仅有外源混入,且发生了一定程度积累,为区内土壤主要的环境隐患。 展开更多

This pluton is of typical I-type granite and emplaced at (857±13) Ma. Geochemical and Nd isotopic characters suggest that the pluton was generated by partial melting of pre-existing, young (late Mesoproterozoic to early Neoproterozoic) low-K tholeiitic protolith within an intraplate anorogenic setting. The Guandaoshan pluton probably records the earliest magmatism induced by the proposed ca. 860-750 Ma mantle superplume beneath the supercontinent Rodinia. 展开更多

The end-Permian mass extinction not only severely distressed the Paleozoic ecosystems but also dramatically changed the sedimentary systems, resulting in a peculiar Early Triassic ecosystem and submarine environment during the recovery time following the mass extinction. The Lower Triassic is characteristic of the wide occurrence of various distinctive sediments and related sedimentary structures, such as flatpebble conglomerates, vermicular limestone, subtidal wrinkle structures, microbialite, carbonate seafloor fans, thin-bedded limestone and zebra limestone-mudstone. These sediments were common in the Precambrian to Early Ordovician marine settings, and then they occurred only in some extreme and unusual environments with the expansion of metazoan faunas. However, the Early Triassic witnessed an "anachronistic" reappearance of some distinctive sedimentary records in normal shallow marine settings. The study of these anachronistic facies should be of great importance for the understanding of the unique ecosystem and marine environment through the great Paleozoic-Mesozoic transition. The anachronistic facies characterized by vermicular limestone have been documented in many localities in South China and occur at various horizons of the Lower Triassic. Most types of re- ported distinctive sediments over the world have been observed in the Lower Triassic of South China. This provides an excellent opportunity for understanding the Early Triassic environment and its co- evolution with the biotic recovery. Among the anachronistic facies the vermicular limestone is the most characteristic and common distinctive sediments in the Lower Triassic of South China but has received relatively few investigations. Taking it as a case study, we will detail the variation of vermicular limestone and its stratigraphic distribution in the Three Gorges area, Hubei Province. The investigation on the vermicular limestone and other distinctive sediments from the Lower Triassic of South China further indicates that the appearance of anachronistic facies immediately following the mass extinction and the elimination from normal shallow marine facies with the radiation of Mesozoic marine faunas imply the natural response of the sedimentary systems and ecosystems to the great Paleozoic-Mesozoic transitional events and their induced harsh environments. Therefore, the ups and downs of the anachronistic facies may act as a proxy for the evolution of ecosystems independent of fossil analyses. 展开更多

Detailed stepwise thermal demagnetization isolated two components. The soft compo- nent (component A) was interpreted as a remagnetization in the recent geomagnetic field. The hard component (compo- nent B) with higher unblocking-temperatures was carried by hematite. Its site-mean direction is D/I = 77.6°/-24.3° (κ = 5.4, α95 = 18.3°, N = 15 sites) before, and D/I = 72.2°/11.5° (κ = 24.6, α95 = 7.9°) after tilt correction. It passes a fold test (Mesozoic folding) at 99% confidence level and reversal test at 95% confidence level. The corresponding pole locates at 17.3°N, 214.5°E (dp = 4.1°, dm = 8.0°). A best fit of paleo- magnetic poles from the NCB, Baltica, Siberia and the ap- parent polar wander path for Laurentia suggests a long-lived connection between these paleo-continents between ~1800 and 1350 Ma. 展开更多

Objective: This study was to assess the influence of interaction of combination of immobilized nitrogen cycling bacteria (INCB) with aquatic macrophytes on nitrogen removal from the eutrophic waterbody, and to get insight into different mechanisms involved in nitrogen removal. Methods: The aquatic macrophytes used include Eichhornia crassipes (sum-mer-autumn floating macrophyte), Elodea nuttallii (winter-growing submerged macrophyte), and nitrogen cycling bacteria in-cluding ammonifying, nitrosating, nitrifying and denitrifying bacteria isolated from Taihu Lake. The immobilization carriers materials were made from hydrophilic monomers 2-hydroxyethyl acrylate (HEA) and hydrophobic 2-hydroxyethyl methylacrylate (HEMA). Two experiments were conducted to evaluate the roles of macrophytes combined with INCB on nitrogen removal from eutrophic water during different seasons. Results: Eichhornia crassipes and Elodea nuttallii had different potentials in purification of eutrophic water. Floating macrophyte+bacteria (INCB) performed best in improving water quality (during the first experiment) and decreased total nitrogen (TN) by 70.2%, nitrite and ammonium by 92.2% and 50.9%, respectively, during the experimental period, when water transparency increased from 0.5 m to 1.8 m. When INCB was inoculated into the floating macrophyte system, the populations of nitrosating, nitrifying, and denitrifying bacteria increased by 1 to 2 orders of magnitude compared to the un-inoculated treatments, but ammonifying bacteria showed no obvious difference between different treatments. Lower values of chlorophyll a, CODMn, and pH were found in the microbial-plant integrated system, as compared to the control. Highest reduction in N was noted during the treatment with submerged macrophyte+INCB, being 26.1% for TN, 85.2% for nitrite, and 85.2% for ammonium at the end of 2nd experiment. And in the treatment, the populations of ammonifying, nitrosating, nitrifying, and de-nitrifying bacteria increased by 1 to 3 orders of magnitude, as compared to the un-inoculated treatments. Similar to the first ex-periment, higher water transparency and lower values of chlorophyll a, CODMn and pH were observed in the plant+ INCB inte-grated system, as compared to other treatments. These results indicated that plant-microbe interaction showed beneficial effects on N removal from the eutrophic waterbody. 展开更多

The area today has a mountainous and rolling landscape with villages, small towns, and agriculture dominated by rice paddies, vegetable, and fruit gardens, as well as areas of secondary forest and pine re-afforestation. The record opens before 14 300 yr BP, with Alnus woodland dominating the wetland areas and with an open Quercus woodland on the surrounding slopes. The forest area becomes more complex from approximately 12 800 yr BP and further from 9 000 yr BP. At approximately 6 000 yr BP, there is evidence of clearing and, by 4 500-4 000 yr BP, a complete collapse in the wetland Alnus and terrestrial forest as the low-lying areas are converted to rice production. For much of the record, the occurrence of fire around the site was low, although there is evidence of regional fires. Fire was used as a tool in clearing and then used in the annual cycles of stubble burning after rice harvest. Nutrient levels, as reflected by total phosphorus in the sediment, seem to be closely related to forest changes and high values in the surface layers probably result from land-management techniques associated with agriculture. Therefore, human impact greatly altered forest cover, fire frequency, and nutrient dynamics; this has been evident for approximately 6 000 yr BP and then intensities towards the present day. 展开更多

二叠纪末的大灭绝不仅重创了古生代海洋生态系,也使得海洋沉积体系发生剧变,导致灭绝之后早三叠世生物复苏期异常的生态系状况和海洋环境.丰富的特殊沉积物及相关沉积构造的广泛出现是早三叠世沉积的显著特征,如扁平砾石砾岩、蠕虫状灰... 二叠纪末的大灭绝不仅重创了古生代海洋生态系,也使得海洋沉积体系发生剧变,导致灭绝之后早三叠世生物复苏期异常的生态系状况和海洋环境.丰富的特殊沉积物及相关沉积构造的广泛出现是早三叠世沉积的显著特征,如扁平砾石砾岩、蠕虫状灰岩、潮下皱纹构造、微生物岩、海底碳酸盐胶结岩扇、薄层灰岩和条带灰岩等.这些特征性的沉积物在奥陶纪之前的海洋环境中曾广泛分布,但在奥陶纪后生动物大发展之后,它们一般仅见于某些极端和异常的环境中.当它们在早三叠世正常浅海环境再次广泛出现时,被认为在时间上或环境上发生了错位,故被称为错时相(anachronistic facies).研究这些特殊沉积构造,对于探索古生代-中生代地质突变期异常的生态系状况和特殊的海洋环境具有重要作用.错时相在中国南方各地的早三叠世地层中广泛存在,分布于下三叠统众多层位中,而且囊括了全球已报道的大多数错时相沉积物,为研究华南早三叠世的海洋环境状况及其与生物复苏的关系提供了契机."蠕虫状灰岩"是华南下三叠统中最典型、最发育的错时相沉积物,但对其研究相对较少.以湖北三峡地区的蠕虫状灰岩为例,对其类型划分、时空分布进行了重点论述.华南下三叠统中蠕虫状灰岩及其他错时相沉积构造的研究表明:错时相紧接生物大灭绝后出现,并随中生代海洋生态系的重建而退出正常浅海环境,这种耦合关系正是沉积体系和生态系对古生代-中生代地质突变及其导致的"特异"环境的自然响应.因此,错时相的盛衰变化可以作为独立于化石记录分析之外的生态变化指针. 展开更多
