The electrochemical carbon dioxide reduction(eCO_(2)RR)to formate,driven by clean energy,is a promising approach for producing renewable chemicals and high-value fuels.Despite its potential,further development faces challenges due to limitations in electrocatalytic activity and durability,especially for nonnoble metal-based catalysts.Here,naturally abundant bismuth-based nanosheets that can effectively drive CO_(2)-to-formate electrocatalytic reduction are prepared using the plasma-activated Bi_(2)Se_(3) followed by a reduction process.Thus-obtained plasma-activated Bi nanosheets(P-BiNS)feature ultrathin structures and high surface areas.Such nanostructures ensure the P-BiNS with outstanding eCO_(2)RR catalytic performance,highlighted by the current density of over 80 mA cm^(-2) and a formate Faradic efficiency of>90%.Furthermore,P-BiNS catalysts demonstrate excellent durability and stability without deactivation following over 50h of operation.The selectivity for formate production is also studied by density functional theory(DFT)calculations,validating the importance and efficacy of the stabilization of intermediates(^(*)OCHO)on the P-BiNS surfaces.This study provides a facile plasma-assisted approach for developing high-performance and low-cost electrocatalysts. 展开更多

The crystal plane plays a very important role in the properties of Ni-rich cathodes.[003]crystallographic texture regulation has been proven to improve structural stability,and yet,the discrepancy of particles with different exposed ratios of[003]in structural attenuation has not been clarified.Herein,we have unraveled comprehensively the structural decay difference for Ni-rich cathodes’primary particles with the different percentages of exposed[003]by regulating the precursor coprecipitation process.The findings based on structural characterization,first-principles calculations,finite element analysis,and electrochemical test reveal that the length and width of particles represent[110]and[003]directions,respectively,and show that cathode particles with a higher[110]/[003]ratio can effectively inhibit structure degradation and intergranular/intragranular crack formation owing to the low oxygen vacancy formation energy on(003)planes and the small local stress on secondary/primary particles.This study may provide guidance for the structural design of layered cathodes. 展开更多

The most critical obstacle for four-wheel independently driven electric vehicles(4WID-EVs)is the driving range.Being the actuators of 4WID-EVs,motors account for its major power consumption.In this sense,by properly distributing torques to minimize the power consumption,the driving range of 4WID-EV can be effectively improved.This paper proposes a model predictive control(MPC)-based torque distribution scheme,which minimizes the power consumption of 4WID-EVs while guaranteeing its tracking performance of planar motions.By incorporating the motor model considering iron losses,the optimal torque distribution can be achieved without an additional torque controller.Also,for this reason,the proposed control scheme is computationally efficient,since the power consumption term to be optimized,which is expressed as the product of the motor voltages and currents,is much simpler than that derived from the efficiency map.With reasonable simplification and linearization,the MPC problem is converted to a quadratic programming problem,which can be solved efficiently.The simulation results in MATLAB and CarSim co-simulation environments demonstrate that the proposed scheme effectively reduces power consumption with guaranteed tracking performance. 展开更多

Gas spark switch is one of the key parts in pulsed power technology.Electrode erosion has great influence on the switch performance and lifetime.In this paper,a field distortion gas switch is selected for the experiment and a great deal of discharging experiments have been conducted in different test conditions.The forming process of etch pit as well as its influencing factors is discussed briefly and surface roughness coefficient(SRC) of the electrode is put forward to evaluate the state of electrode erosion.Experimental results show that current peak plays an important role in electrode erosion when waveforms of discharge current are the same,and electric charge and oscillation frequency of discharge current also have great effect on the electrode erosion when waveforms of discharge current are different.With the increase of discharge times,SRC decreases slowly at first and then decreases quickly after three thousand of discharge times. 展开更多

Furthermore, a simple fourth-order electronic circuit is designed for hardware implementation of the 4D hyperchaotic attractors. Based on the fact that the real inductor and the real capacitor are fractional order in nature and the fractional calculus,the transfer function modeling and analysis of the open-loop Buck converter in a continuous conduction mode(CCM) operation are carried out in this paper.The fractional order small signal model and the corresponding equivalent circuit of the open-loop Buck converter in a CCM operation are presented.The transfer functions from the input voltage to the output voltage,from the input voltage to the inductor current,from the duty cycle to the output voltage,from the duty cycle to the inductor current,and the output impedance of the open-loop Buck converter in CCM operation are derived,and their bode diagrams and step responses are calculated,respectively.It is found that all the derived fractional order transfer functions of the system are influenced by the fractional orders of the inductor and the capacitor.Finally,the realization of the fractional order inductor and the fractional order capacitor is designed,and the corresponding PSIM circuit simulation results of the open-loop Buck converter in CCM operation are given to confirm the correctness of the derivations and the theoretical analysis. 展开更多

The killing logarithms index in killing a vegetative form in an explosure of about 90s and a spore in an explosure of about 120s, by using a low-temperature plasma produced by dielectric barrier discharge (DBD), reached 5. The speed in killing the strains tested, by using a low-temperature plasma, was the highest with E. Coli, then S. Aureus and B. Subtilis var niger spore. The results of the scanning electron microscope showed that the low-temperature plasma destroyed the outer structure of the bacteria and that the vegetative form was more susceptible to the inactivation effect of the low-temperature plasma than was the spore. This indicated that the effects of the high voltage and high velocity particle flow, in plasma, penetrating through the outer structure of the bacteria might play a dominant role during the inactivation of the bacteria. 展开更多

Based on the principle of thermal conduction, three metal alloys (stainless steel, copper-tungsten and graphite) were chosen as the material of the high impulse current discharging switch. Experimental results indicate that the mass loss and surface erosion morphology of the electrode are related with the electrode material (conductivity σ, melting point Tin, density p and thermal capacity c) and the impulse transferred charge (or energy) per impulse for the same total impulse transferred charge. The experimental results indicate that the mass loss of stainless steel, copper-tungsten and graphite are 380.10 μg/C, 118.10 μg/C and 81.90 μg/C respectively under the condition of a total impulse transferred charge of 525 C and a transferred charge per impulse of 10.5 C. Under the same impulse transferred charge, the mass loss of copper-tungsten(118.10 μg/C) with the transferred charge per impulse at 10.5 C is far larger than the mass loss (38.61μg/C) at a 1.48 C transferred charge per impulse. The electrode erosion mechanism under high energy impulse arcs is analyzed briefly and it is suggested that by selecting high conductive metal or metal alloy as the electrode material of a high energy impulse spark gap switch and setting high erosion resistance material at the top of the electrode, the mass loss of the electrode can be reduced and the life of the switch prolonged. 展开更多

In recent years,ternary heterostructures(HSs)composed of three semiconductors have attracted significant attention because of the effective separation and transfer of photogenerated electrons and holes in these materials.In this work,new ternary Cd S/Zn S/Zn O(CZZ)HSs with one-dimensional(1D)nanofiber morphology have been successfully fabricated for the first time by a series of processes:electrospinning Zn O nanofibers,sulfurizing Zn O in situ to form Zn S/Zn O binary HSs,and depositing Cd S quantum dots in situ on the Zn S/Zn O HSs.Benefiting from the efficient separation and transfer of photoinduced charge carriers,the optimized CZZ ternary HSs exhibit a hydrogen evolution rate of 51.45 mmol h^-1 g^-1(quantum efficiency:26.88%at 420 nm)without any co-catalyst,which is 93.54 and 2.28 times higher than those exhibited by pristine Zn O and Zn S/Zn O binary HSs,respectively,under the same conditions.Furthermore,the rate of hydrogen evolution over the 1D CZZ nanofibers is significantly higher than that over 2D CZZ nanosheets(27.25 mmol h^-1 g^-1,in the presence of a Pt co-catalyst)prepared by the same sulfurization and deposition procedures.This can be ascribed to the significantly smaller geometric sizes of 1D nanofibers compared to those of 2D nanosheets,resulting in effectively suppressed recombination of photogenerated charge carriers and promotion of photocatalytic H2 evolution performance. 展开更多

A simulation system for power grid with concentrated large-scale wind farm integration is established based on the electro-magnetic transient model of wind turbine equipped with doubly-fed induction generator (DFIG),which is built by real-time digital simulator (RTDS).Using the hardware communication interface of RTDS,a closed-loop testing experiment is accomplished to study the impacts of large-scale wind farms on the existing relay protection devices for wind farm outgoing transmission line.This paper points out problems existing in current relay protection devices as follows:fault phase selector can select unwanted phase due to the changes of fault features caused by special network connection of wind farms;blocking condition for distance protections needs to be re-examined due to the weak power-feed characteristics of wind farms;and power frequency parameter based relay protection devices cannot accurately operate due to the special transient voltage and current characteristics of wind farms during fault period.Results lay the foundation for improving the performances of the existing relay protection device and developing new principle relay protection. 展开更多

Surface charges greatly affect the discharge/flashover development process across an insulator. The relationship between surface charge distribution on insulating materials and measurement data based on Pockels technique is discussed, and an improved algorithm is built to calculate the real surface charge density from original data. In this algorithm, two-dimensional Fourier transform technique and Wiener filter are employed to reduce the amount of numerical calculation and improve the stability of computation, Moreover, this algorithm considers not only the influence of sample's thickness and permittivity, but also the impact of charges at different positions. The achievement of this calibration algorithm is demonstrated in details. Compared with traditional algorithms, the improved one supplies a better solution in the calibration of surface charge distribution on different samples with different thickness. 展开更多

It is difficult to detect and extinguish direct current(DC)arc in power electronics systems,and the arc could easily lead to a fire and cause great damage to surrounding equipment.A DC arc generation simulation unit is established,in which DC series arcs are generated by dragging the moving electrode away from the fixed one with the help of the stepper motor.In addition,a ferrite rod antenna is used to receive the electromagnetic radiation signals induced by the arcs.Based on experiments using the unit,the general characteristics of DC arc,including the pulse characteristics of arc current and source output in corresponding time window,and the frequency-domain characteristics of arc current,are studied.With discussion on three detection methods,it is concluded that the variation of current and voltage of arc,the spectrum of the arc current during the discontinuous intervals and the radiating electromagnetic signal are all features that can be adopted for detecting DC series arc.Therefore,a synthetic judgment method is suggested for further study. 展开更多

In this paper, period-doubling bifurcation in a two-stage power factor correction converter is analyzed by using the method of incremental harmonic balance (IHB) and Floquet theory. A two-stage power factor correction converter typically employs a cascade configuration of a pre-regulator boost power factor correction converter with average current mode control to achieve a near unity power factor and a tightly regulated post-regulator DC-DC Buck converter with voltage feedback control to regulate the output voltage. Based on the assumption that the tightly regulated postregulator DC-DC Buck converter is represented as a constant power sink and some other assumptions, the simplified model of the two-stage power factor correction converter is derived and its approximate periodic solution is calculated by the method of IHB. And then, the stability of the system is investigated by using Floquet theory and the stable boundaries are presented on the selected parameter spaces. Finally, some experimental results are given to confirm the effectiveness of the theoretical analysis. 展开更多

Some dynamical properties of the current-mode controlled fractional-order Buck- Boost converter are analysed. The simulation is accomplished by using SIMULINK. Numerical simulations are presented to verify the analytical results and we find that bifurcation points will be moved backward as α and β vary. The dielectric barrier corona discharge(DBCD) in a wire-cylinder configuration and the dielectric barrier discharge(DBD) in a coaxial cylinder configuration are studied. The discharge current in DBD has a higher pulse amplitude than in DBCD. The dissipated power and the gas-gap voltage are calculated by analyzing the measured Lissajous figure. With the increasing applied voltage, the energy utilization factor for SO2 removal increases in DBCD but decreases in DBD because of the difference in their electric field distribution. Experiments of SO2 removal show that in the absence of NH3 the energy utilization factor can reach 31 g/kWh in DBCD and 39 g/kWh in DBD. 展开更多

A whole circuit model of a linear transformer drivers (LTD) module composed of 60 cavities in series was developed in the software PSPICE to study the influence of switching jitter on the operational performances of LTDs. In the model, each brick in each cavity is capable of operating with jitter in its switch. Additionally, the manner of triggering cables entering into cavities was considered. The performances of the LTD module operating with three typical cavity-triggering sequences were simulated and the simulation results indicate that switching jitter affects slightly the peak and starting time of the output current pulse. However, the enhancement in switching jitter would significantly lengthen the rise time of the output current pulse. Without considering other factors, a jitter lower than 10 ns may be necessary for the switches in the LTD module to provide output current parameters with an acceptable deviation. 展开更多
