Analysis of Scanlon’s Moral Motivation Theory

Any satisfactory moral theory needs to address the issue of moral motivation,"Why should a person have morality?"Breaking away from Hume’s theory of emotional motivation, Scanlon’s moral contractualism advocates a Kantian theory of rational motivation. Meanwhile, he abandons the Kantian view of formal rationality, and substitutes a substantive view of reason. On this basis, the moral reasoning of contractualism integrates the following factors, thereby offering an innovative answer to the above mentioned question: People want to get on well with others, so behaviors need to have an element of justifiability. This justifiability requirement arises from both our value systems and the requirement for reciprocal recognition. The moral justification of behavior is something we cannot reasonably reject. Topic-based Teaching Strategy in Cultivating Labor Values

The ideological and political curriculum in high schools as a fundamental course for the implementation of moral education plays an important role in cultivating students' labor values.However,the traditional and indoctrination teaching methods used by some teachers are not suitable to cultivate these values.This article proposes a new teaching method in high schools,ideological and political lessons to cultivate students' labor values in four aspects which are students' knowledge,feeling,meaning,and action.By setting topics to emphasize on labor values,circulating and discussing these topics to cultivate labor emotions,promote thinking for firm labor faith,and promote action in the practice of labor behaviors to cultivate students'labor values,improve their rational cognition and emotional identification of Marxist labor values,as well as internalize labor values in their minds and externalizing them in practice.

荀子乃性朴论者,非性恶论者(英文)

《荀子·性恶》让荀子背了两千多年的"性恶论者"的黑锅。他事实上是一位性朴论者,并非《荀子》一书中所有的作品都出自他本人之手。《性恶》对人性的看法与《劝学》、《礼论》、《天论》、《正名》、《荣辱》等篇对此的看法严重相悖。在这些多篇文章中,人性都不定为恶,而是定为朴、善恶未定、可善可恶等。荀子的弟子、《史记》的记载、西汉时代的人性论说等也可以旁证荀子不以人性为恶。
