The electromagnetic radiation will result in informa- tion leakage being recovered when computers work. This article presents a high-speed real-time data acquisition system based on peripheral component interconnect (PCI) bus and field programmable gate array (FPGA) for sampling electromagnetic radiation caused by video signal. The hardware design and controlling flow of each module are introduced in detail. The sampling rate can reach 64 Msps and system transfers speed can be up to 128 Mb/s by using time interleaving, which increases the overall sampling speed of a system by operating two data converters in parallel. 展开更多

High-speed broadband power line communication(BPL)is a novel and practicable technique for NetatHome or home area local area networking(LAN).Because of the characteristics of BPL,the electromagnetic wave emitted from the BPL transmission media will influence the indoor electromagnetic environment,which would also affect the performance of other wireless communications.Based on the analysis of the communication channel characteristic,network impedance and attenuation characteristic of the BPL,this paper proposes a novel model for calculating the BPL radiation and the computer simulation model,which are proved by the coherence of the simulation and the test data.The interferences from the high-speed BPL to indoor wireless communications are analyzed to stipulate the standards of high-speed BPL in the future. 展开更多

A series of flexible three-band motion-compensated lifting steps are used to implement the temporal wavelet transform, which provide improved compression performance by selecting specific motion model according to real video sequences, and offer higher temporal scalability flexibility by using three-band lifting steps. The experimental results compared with motion picture expert group (MPEG)-4 codec concerning standard video sequences demonstrate the effectiveness of the method. 展开更多

Because ofthe UWB characters, the ideal point scattering model and EPmethod are used in the algorithm for optimizing the UWBlocalization images. After introducing the algorithm detail, theactual model is used to realize the EP CLEAN algorithm.Compared with the conventional localization imaging algorithm,this algorithm has advantages fitting the UWB characters such asaccuracy, robustness, and better resolution, which are verified bythe numerical simulations. A new ultra-wide band (UWB) modulation scheme called L-ary ultra-wide band time hopping multi-pulse position modulation (UWB-TH-MPPM) is proposed for high data-rate wireless application, which can provide better communication performance. The constant weight code is introduced to construct the MPPM signal and the comparison between MPPM and single pulse position modulation (SPPM) is done in three aspects, namely, power efficiency, bandwidth efficiency, and probability of symbol error, respectively. The theoretical analysis and the numerical results show that when the constant weight code is appropriately chosen, MPPM can achieve lower probability of symbol error and higher power efficiency than SPPM at the cost of more bandwidth under the same condition. The proposed MPPM can be a good candidate in UWB system design. 展开更多

In both wireless local area networks (WLAN) and mobile ad hoc networks (MANET), the IEEE 802.11e medium access control (MAC) protocol is proposed for an effective quality of service (QoS) solution. A number of studies have been done to enhance the performance of 802.11e in MANET by independently adjusting contention window (CW) size of each access category (AC) in every node. However, without the cooperation between the high priority flows and lower priority flows, the QoS goal of high priority flows cannot achieve effectively. In this article, a fuzzy logic based cooperative MAC protocol (FLCMAC) is proposed to cooperate amongst network flows and dynamically adjust access probability of each low priority flow affecting the high priority flows to satisfy their QoS requirement. The simulation results indicate that compared to the enhanced distributed channel access (EDCA) scheme of 802.11e, the FLCMAC consistently excels, in terms of throughput and delay under moderate and heavy background traffic both in single-hop and multi-hop scenarios. 展开更多
