Impact of coupling coordination development of port and city environments on urban economic competitiveness:Evidence from the coastal port cities in eastern China

Promoting the coupling coordination development of port and its hinterland city environments is an important way to improve urban economic competitiveness.Based on relevant data of 13 coastal port cities in eastern China from 2000 to 2018,this study explores the coupling coordination development of port and city environments and its impact on urban economic competitiveness by constructing the coupling coordination degree model and the panel threshold model.The research results show that:(1)In terms of the coupling coordination development of port and city environments,most coastal ports and their hinterland cities are in a state of moderate or serious disorder.Overall,the degree of coupling coordination of port and city environments needs to be further improved;(2)The coupling coordination degree of port and city environments has a significant impact on urban economic competitiveness,and this effect gradually increases with the development of the ports and the urban economy.Among the variables that impact the urban economic competitiveness,fixed assets investment and foreign trade are significant factors that can enhance urban economic competitiveness.(3)At present,there is a“U-shaped”relationship between the coupling coordination degree of port-city environments and the urban economic competitiveness.This relationship lies on the right side of the inflection point of the“U-shaped”curve.Therefore,following the concept of assigning priority to ecological development,expanding fixed assets investment and actively developing foreign trade can further enhance the urban economic competitiveness.

Empirical Analysis of the Impact of Green Finance and Technological Progress on Total Factor Productivity in China’s Industrial Sector

The enhancement of industrial green total factor productivity is pivotal for achieving high-quality and sustainable economic development.This study assesses China’s performance using the SBM-GML model,employing province-level panel data spanning from 2004 to 2020.Furthermore,we examine the influence of green finance and technological progress on industrial green total factor productivity using a spatial econometric model.The findings uncover that the relationship between the level of green financial development and industrial green total factor productivity follows a U-shaped curve.Initially,low levels of green financial development exert a suppressive effect on industrial green total factor productivity,proving ineffective in the short term.However,with the progression of green finance development,a positive and significant long-term impact on industrial green total factor productivity emerges.Moreover,technological progress demonstrates a noteworthy promotional effect on industrial green total factor productivity.The analysis delves deeper into revealing that industrial structure and environmental regulation intensity exhibit a significant negative relationship with industrial green total factor productivity.In contrast,both energy structure and education level showcase a substantial positive relationship with industrial green total factor productivity.

A Comparative Study of Lao-tzu’s“Xu Jing”and Buddhism’s“Stillness”

“Stillness”,as the Vimoksha state of Buddhism’s Nirvana state,is the ultimate experience of religious practice.It has rich connotations.Firstly,“Stillness”is an ultimate aesthetic experience;secondly,“Stillness”means transcending real society,the secular world and utility.In Lao-tzu’s thought,“To the Ultimate,You Yourself Empty”,“Remain in Silence and Clarity”,“Anātman”,etc.,are presented,showing that Buddhism and Lao-tzu have some commonalities.Based on the text,this article will make a simple comparative analysis,after separately discussing Lao-tzu’s“Xu Jing”and Buddhism’s“Silence”,in order to show their similarities and differences more fully and objectively.

THE LIMITING PROFILE OF SOLUTIONS FOR SEMILINEAR ELLIPTIC SYSTEMS WITH A SHRINKING SELF-FOCUSING CORE

In this paper,we consider the semilinear elliptic equation systems{△u+u=αQ_(n)(x)|u|^(α-2)|v|^(β)u in R^(N),-△v+v=βQ(x)|u|^(α)|v|^(β-2)v in R^(N),where N≥3,α,β>1,α+β<2^(*),2^(*)=2N/N-2 and Q_(n) are bounded given functions whose self-focusing cores{x∈R^(N)|Q_(n)(x)>0} shrink to a set with finitely many points as n→∞.Motivated by the work of Fang and Wang[13],we use variational methods to study the limiting profile of ground state solutions which are concentrated at one point of the set with finitely many points,and we build the localized concentrated bound state solutions for the above equation systems.

Spatial Structural Pattern and Vulnerability of China-Japan-Korea Shipping Network

The economies of China-Japan-Korea （CJK） are complementary, with their proximity resulting in the three countries having a high degree of interdependence with respect to trade. Currently, trade among these countries relies mainly on port-centered shipping. The development of the shipping network is integral for in-depth integration of CJK trade. This paper analyzes the overall characteristics, centrality, spatial structure, and vulnerability of the CJK shipping network using the methods of complex network analysis, blocking flow theory, and interruption and deletion of hub ports. The main findings are as follows： 1） The CJK shipping network has a small average path length and clustering coefficient, and its degree distribution follows a power-law distribution, which make the network present obvious characteristics of a Barabasi-Albert scale-free. 2） The characteristics of the multi-center point of the CJK shipping network can alleviate traffic pressure. At the same time, the network shows a clear hierarchy in the port transportation system, with cargo transport relying mainly on the ‘hub port-hub port＇ connection. 3） The CJK shipping network is relatively stable. Compared with ports in Japan and Korea, the main hub ports in China have a greater impact on the stability of the shipping network, in particular those ports of the central coastal region, including Shanghai, Ningbo, and Lianyungang.

Impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on vegetable production and countermeasures from an agricultural insurance perspective

In the face of the corona virus disease 2019(COVID-19)pandemic,it is essential to stabilize the security of urban“shopping baskets”.Through a survey and interviews with 46 agricultural cooperatives in Shanghai,this paper analyzes the impact of the pandemic on vegetable production and offers suggestions on agricultural insurance.The research results show that:(1)the pandemic has impacted almost all stages of the vegetable supply chain but has had a greater impact on the sales stage;(2)the market risks of vegetable production have increased significantly,and the gap between the field price and the market price has widened.The sales price difference between traditional channels and e-commerce is notable;(3)farmers’incomes have generally declined due to the COVID-19 pandemic,and traditional small-scale farmers have suffered more losses;and(4)agricultural insurance plays an important role in stabilizing the supply of vegetables to the city.To minimize the impact of the pandemic on vegetable production and to stabilize both urban“shopping baskets”and farmers’incomes,it is necessary to further improve agricultural insurance,especially to provide insurance against market risks.

The Role of Japanese Candlestick in DVAR Model

The decomposition-based vector autoregressive model （DVAR） provides a new framework for scrutinizing the efficiency of technical analysis in forecasting stock returns. However, its relation- ships with other technical indicators still remain unknown. This paper investigates the relationships of DVAR model with the Japanese Candlestick indicators using simulations, theoretical explanations and empirical studies. The main finding of this paper is that both lower and upper shadows in Japanese Candlestick Granger contribute to the DVAR model explanation power, and thus, providing useful information for improving the DVAR forecasts. This finding makes sense as it means that the infor- mation contained in the lower and upper shadows should be used when modeling the stock returns with DVAR. Empirical studies performed on China SSEC stock index demonstrate that DVAR model with upper and lower shadows as exogenous variables does have informative and valuable out-of-sample forecasts.

Symmetry reduction and exact solutions of the (3+1)-dimensional Zakharov-Kuznetsov equation

By means of the classical method, we investigate the （3＋1）-dimensional Zakharov-Kuznetsov equation. The symmetry group of the （3＋1）-dimensional Zakharov-Kuznetsov equation is studied first and the theorem of group invariant solutions is constructed. Then using the associated vector fields of the obtained symmetry, we give the one-, two-, and three-parameter optimal systems of group-invariant solutions. Based on the optimal system, we derive the reductions and some new solutions of the （3＋1）-dimensional Zakharov-Kuznetsov equation.

Human Capital of Family and Social Mobility in Rural Areas-Evidence from China

This research focuses on the impact of family＇s human capital on social mobility in China＇s rural community.Empirical research is conducted based on data from surveying a typical rural community in the past 20 yr.The study indicates that social mobility in rural area is active in the past 20 yr,and the human capital of family,represented by primary labor＇s education level,has played an essential role in mobility of low social class.Meanwhile,socio-economic development and the change of supply and demand in labor market dims the signaling role of degree education,but the impact of occupational training is increasingly remarkable.Therefore,the change from sole degree education to multi-leveled education including occupational education and training is a main way for China＇s rural families in low class to realize social mobility.

Valuation of Economic Benefit of Regulatory Detailed Planning-- A Case Study of Unit BSP0-2601 at Shengqiao Community, Yuepu Town, Baoshan District,Shanghai City

Ideas and methods of evaluating economic benefit of regulatory detailed planning were introduced firstly,and then the framework and concrete steps of valuation of economic benefit of regulatory detailed planning were analyzed.Afterwards,the economic benefit of regulatory detailed planning was valued by using case analysis method.Finally,some suggestions of application were proposed,such as introducing the valuation of economic benefit of a third party into the adjustment scheme of regulatory detailed planning,and publicizing the scheme of regulatory detailed planning and valuation results at the same time.

Implicit Attribute Recognition of Online Clothing Reviews Based on Bidirectional Gated Recurrent Unit-Conditional Random Fields

Sentiment analysis has been widely used to mine users'opinions on products,product attributes and merchants'response attitudes from online product reviews.One of the key challenges is that the opinion words in some reviews lack obvious evaluation objects(product attributes).This paper aims to identify implicit attributes from online clothing reviews,and presents a unified model which applies a unified tagging scheme.Our model integrates the indicator consistency(IC)module on the basis of bidirectional gated recurrent unit(BiGRU)with a conditional random fields(CRF)layer(BiGRU-CRF),which denoted as BiGRU-IC-CRF.On the 9640 comments data set of a certain clothing brand,the comparative experiment is carried out by BiGRU,BiGRU with an IC layer(BiGRU-IC)and BiGRU-CRF.The results show that this method has a higher recognition rate,and the F1 value reaches 85.48%.The method proposed in this paper is based on character labeling,which effectively avoids the inaccuracy of word segmentation in natural language processing.The IC module proposed in this paper can maintain the consistency of the product attributes corresponding to the opinion words,thereby enhancing the recognition ability of the original BiGRU-CRF method.This method is not only applicable to the implicit attributes recognition in clothing reviews,but also helpful to other fields implicit attribute recognition of product reviews.

Seasoned Equity Offerings and " Herd Behavior " of Earnings Management

A model to explain the dynamic characters of earnings management was developed based on the interactionamong several firms’ disclosure policies. Under the condition of incomplete information, each firm’s earnings man-agement will be influenced by the earnings disclosure policies of other firms. It can lead to "herd behavior" of earningsmanagement. This paper studies the relationship between earnings manipulation and rights issue policy based on thedistribution of earnings after management. The results indicate that Chinese listed companies trend towards controllingROE in the narrow ranges just above 6% and 10% .Therefore, "herd behavior" exists in the earnings management.

Significance of Golgi Protein 73, Alpha-Fetoprotein and Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor Expression in Diagnosis of Primary Hepatic Cancer

Aim: We measured Golgi protein73 (GP73), alpha-fetoprotein (AFP), and vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) expression in primary hepatic cancer (PHC) and assessed their clinical significance. Methods: Forty-five PHC and tumor-adjacent specimens and 14 normal liver specimens were examined. GP73, AFP, and VEGF expression was measured via immunohistochemistry and a correlation of protein expression with clinical pathology of PHC was suggested. Results: GP73, AFP, and VEGF expression was significantly higher in PHC and tumor-adjacent tissue compared to tumor-adjacent tissue (0.143 ± 0.018 vs. 0.124 ± 0.027, 0.116 ± 0.026 vs. 0.098 ± 0.014, and 0.126 ± 0.027 vs. 0.092 ± 0.016, respectively;all p 0.088 ± 0.029, 0.098 ± 0.014 vs. 0.073 ± 0.011, and 0.092 ± 0.016 vs. 0.076 ± 0.018, respectively;all p < 0.05), respectively. GP73 expression was positively correlated with pathological grade and cirrhosis, but not with tumor size, nodules, clinical stage and serum AFP. VEGF expression was positively correlated with tumor size, nodules, portal vein tumor thrombus, and clinical stage, but not with the degree of tumor differentiation and serum AFP. Expression of GP73 and VEGF was greater than that of AFP in PHC (both p < 0.05). Conclusion: GP73 is highly expressed in PHC and may be a diagnostic marker. Combined detection of GP73, AFP, and VEGF is helpful for diagnosis of PHC.

Will Coal Price Fluctuations Affect Renewable Energy Substitution and Carbon Emission? A Computable General Equilibrium-Based Study of China

Changes in the energy price system will determine the direction of evolution of the energy industry structure.As a country where coal is the dominant energy source,what is the effect of coal price fluctuations on China’s industry development costs and energy consumption structure?To investigate this problem,this paper utilized an economy–energy–environment computable general equilibrium model.In this study,four aspects were analyzed:Energy supply side,proportion of renewable energy consumption,macroeconomy,and changes in CO_(2) emissions.The results of this study show that an increase of 10%–20%in coal prices contributes to a shift into using renewable energy,which leads to energy saving and emission reduction.Renewable energy and clean energy rose by 0.57%–4.47%in the energy structure,but this has a certain negative impact on the macroeconomy.The gross domestic product(GDP)fell by 0.07%–0.18%.As a result,the decline in coal prices became an obstacle to renewable energy substitution and energy conservation.In addition,we put forward policy suggestions according to the results in energy,economic,and environmental effects.
