The transaction behavior of cryptocurrency and electricity consumption

Rapidly increasing cryptocurrency prices have encouraged cryptocurrency miners to participate in cryptocurrency production,increasing network hashrates and electricity consumption.Growth in network hashrates has further crowded out small cryptocurrency investors owing to the heightened costs of mining hardware and electricity.These changes prompt cryptocurrency miners to become new investors,leading to cryptocurrency price increases.The potential bidirectional relationship between cryptocurrency price and electricity consumption remains unidentified.Hence,this research thus utilizes July 312015–July 122019 data from 13 cryptocurrencies to investigate the short-and long-run causal effects between cryptocurrency transaction and electricity consumption.Particularly,we consider structural breaks induced by external shocks through stationary analysis and comovement relationships.Over the examined time period,we found that the series of cryptocurrency transaction and electricity consumption gradually returns to mean convergence after undergoing daily shocks,with prices trending together with hashrates.Transaction fluctuations exert both a temporary effect and permanent influence on electricity consumption.Therefore,owing to the computational power deployed to wherever high profit is found,transactions are vital determinants of electricity consumption.

A Study on the Public Awareness of Hierarchical Medical System in Taiwan

The purpose of hierarchical medical system is to lead in terms of improving efficiency, differentiating healthcare services and promoting labor division by changing the healthcare seeking behavior. The purpose of this research aims to discuss the public awareness of hierarchical medical system in Taiwan for the reference of health policy makers. We obtained our research data using a questionnaire survey;the total number of qualified patients was 1340. This research finds that more subjects agreed to the hierarchical medical system and medical referral system, but many people still disagreed with changes to their healthcare seeking choices due to policy promotion. Subtle changes, therefore, are observed that imply a crisis in terms of the trust in healthcare. The healthcare seeking behavior will not change if there is a difference between the medical awareness of patients and policy implementation, and the government needs to be concerned with this result when making policies.

Pilot Study on an Integrated Pilates and Yoga Program for Decreasing Postpartum Depression in Women

Objective: This study evaluated the effectiveness of a 10-week exercise intervention in reducing depression and fatigue in women with postpartum depression. Design: A one-group pretest/ posttest quasi-experiment was conducted. Setting: A postpartum ward in a medical center in Taipei city was used. Participants: Nineteen women at 7 - 12 weeks postpartum with an Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale score ≥ 9 were recruited. Methods: The women participated in a postpartum exercise support program 1 hour per week for 10 weeks. The program was led by a professional coach;it integrated yoga, Pilates, elastic band exercise, low-intensity aerobics, and motherhood role experience sharing. Results: After the postpartum exercise support program intervention, depression scores decreased from 10.4 ± 3.29 to 7.80 ± 2.73 (t = 3.632, P = 0.003);fatigue scores decreased from 8.73 ± 5.02 to 5.40 ± 3.89 (t = 2.988, P = 0.010). Conclusion: PESP administered to women with postpartum depression appeared to benefit their psychological wellbeing.

An Analytical Model for a Sectored Cellular Network with Embedded Small Cells

In order to handle the huge amounts of data transmitted through hot spots and to increase cell coverage in buildings, this paper proposes a sectored cellular network with small cells (SCNSC) embedded in each sector. Two region types, sectors and variable-radius small cells are classified in an SCNSC macro cell. Because the system capacity is enhanced by using fractional frequency reuse (FFR), the overall channel bandwidth is divided into two or three frequency bands depending on whether the number of sectors in a macro cell is even or odd. For the purpose of topological evaluation on the proposed SCNSC, we build an analytical model using Markov chain theory. The performance measures include new-call blocking and handoff-call dropping probabilities, average waiting times, and normalized throughputs in each sector and its embedded small cell by varying mobile stations’ moving speeds, the number of sectors, and the radius size of an embedded small cell. From the evaluation results, it is demonstrated that adjusting either the number of sectors or the coverage of an embedded cell can satisfy different service demands.

Petrogenesis of Cenozoic Basaltic Rocks from Jiangsu Province,China:Evidence from Geochemical Constraints

Cenozoic （Miocene to Pleistocene） basaltic rocks in Jiangsu province of eastern China include olivine tholeiite and alkali basalt. We present major, trace element and Sr-Nd isotopic data as well as Ar-Ar dating of these basalts to discuss the petrogenesis of the basalts and identify the geological processes beneath the study area. On the basis of chemical compisitions and Ar-Ar dating of Cenonoic basaltic rocks from Jiangsu province, we suggest that these basalts may belong to the same magmatic system. The alkali basalts found in Jiangsu province have higher ~FeO, MgO, CaO, Na20, TiO2 and P205 and incompatible elements, but lower A1203 and compatible elements contents than olivine tholeiite which may be caused by fractional crystallization of olivine, pyroxene and minor plagioclase. In Jiangsu basaltic rocks the incompatible elements increase with decreasing MgO/~FeO ratios. The primitive mantle-normalized incompatible elements and chondrite-normalized REE patterns of basaltic rocks found in Jiangsu province are similar to those of OIB. Partial loss of the mantle lithosphere accompanied by rising of asthenospheric mantle may accelerate the generation of the basaltic magma. The 143Nd/144Nd vs. S7Sr/S6Sr plot indicates a mixing of a depleted asthenospheric mantle source and an EM1 component in the study area. According to Shaw＇s equation, the basalts from Jiangsu province may be formed by 1%-5% partial melting of a depleted asthenospheric mantle source. On the basis of Ar-Ar ages of this study and the fractional crystallization model proposed by Brooks and Nielsen （1982）, we suggest that basalts from Jiangsu province may belong to a magmatic system with JF-2 as the primitive magma which has undergone fractional crystallization and evolved progressively to produce other types of basalts.

Investigated the hospital utilization and medical resource usage of haemophilia A and B in Taiwan: 2001-2010

Aim: The purpose of this study was to explore the impact of attributes of medical care organizations and patients on medical resource utilization by hemophilia (hemophilia A and hemophilia B;Hemophilia with musculoskeletal system and without). Methods: Hospitalization due to hemophilia (ICD9: 286.0 and 286.1) and hemophilia with musculoskeletal system (ICD9: 710.xx-739.xx) between 2001 and 2010 were identified from a national health insurance database. Calculated by patients and hospital characteristics, length of hospital stay, medical cost of hospitalization was analyzed. Results: Of the total of 2150 patients, a systemic analysis of the results showed a mean patient age of 30.2 and average medical costs per patient of NT $672,335 (US $21,010). The Impact of Hospital Accreditation System: Perspective of Organizational Learning

Objectives: Organizational learning is used to being a very important topic about hospital management and even is identified as the source of a hospital’s competitive strength. The study tries to explore the correlation between organizational learning and hospital accreditation awareness from the medical institution operation management’s point of view. Methods: We designed the questionnaire based on the cross-section survey, which included a total of 498 hospitals through-out Taiwan as the subjects (1922 copies of questionnaire were distributed, 4 copies per hospital). As a result, 306 returned the questionnaire (995 copies of valid questionnaire), a valid response rate was 49.94%. Then, we conducted the multiple regression analysis. Results: The factors critical to the operations management accreditation awareness include age, hospital ownership, hospital lever and team learning (p < 0.001). The factors critical to the medical care accreditation awareness include age, education level and team learning (p < 0.001). The team learning will produce positive effect to the hospital accreditation awareness. Conclusions: The organizational continuous learning may enhance the team learning through hospital accreditation operations to ensure that the medical treatment system may provide safe, valid and reliable healthcare and found the hospitals’ competitive strength.

Improving Supply Chain Performance Through Supplier Selection and Order Allocation Problem

Suppliers play the vital role of ensuring the continuous supply of goods to themarket for businesses.If businesses do not maintain a strong bond with their suppliers,they may not be able to secure a steady supply of goods and products for their customers.As a result of failure to deliver products,the production and business activities of the business can be delayed which leads to the loss of customers.Normally,each trading enterprise will have a variety of commodity supply chains withmultiple suppliers.Suppliers play an important role and contribute to the value of the entire supply chain.Should any supplier encounters a problem,the whole supply chain of businesses will be affected and could lead to not guaranteeing the stable supply to the market.Thus,suppliers can be seen as a threat to businesses where they have the ability to increase input prices or decrease the quality of the required products and services they provide.The quantity of the business,and the supply lead time directly affect the operations and reduce the profitability of the business.The paper mainly focuses on the supplier selection problemunder a variety of price level and product families when using a two-phase fuzzy multi-objective linear programming.The objectives of the proposed model are to minimize the total purchasing and ordering cost in order to reduce the quantity of defective materials and the late-delivery components from suppliers.Moreover,the piecewise linear membership function is applied in themodel to determine an optimal solution which is based on the requirement of decision makers under their fuzzy environment.The results of this study can be applied in various business environment and provide a reliable decision tool for choosing potential suppliers relating to these objectives.Based on the results,the company canmake a good decision on supplier selection;therefore,the company can improve the quality and quantity of their final product.This is because,the best supplier can supply raw material using just-in-time application and reduce production risk on the manufacturing process.

Crystallization Behavior and Tensile Property of Poly(trimethyleneterephthalate)/Styrene-Ethylene-Buthylene-Styrene Composites

Poly（trimethyleneterephthalate）（PTT）/styrene-ethylene-buthylene-styrene（SEBS）composites were prepared by melt compounding.Polarizing opticalmicroscopy was used to observe the spherulitic morphology and the crystalstructure of PTT and PTT/SEBS composites.Scanning electron microscopy was used to determine the dispersion and the compatibility of fracture surfaces of PTT and SEBS.The curves of thermalgravimetric analysis illustrated that the thermo stability decreased with increasing SEBS content.Differentialscanning calorimetry was used to investigate the crystallization behavior;and the result showed that the glass transition temperature of the compound increased with the SEBS content.The Avramiequation described the isothermalcrystallization kinetics.Stress-strain curves for PTT and PTT/SEBS composites showed that the elongation at break was enhanced with increasing SEBS content.

A STUDY ON FACTORS FOR RETAILERS IMPLEMENTING CPFR-A FUZZY AHP ANALYSIS

Since collaborative, planning, forecasting, and replenishment （CPFR） was first proposed in 1998, numerous studies have focused on exploring its implementation in retailing contexts. While a considerable body of research has emphasized reduced costs, increased sales and improved forecasting ability, there has been a lack of research on the importance of each of the various factors which affect such implementations. In order to find out the critical success factors affecting CPFR implementation, this paper first collected related influence factors regarding adopting CPFR or business to business （B2B） information systems, and further constructed a factor table with a three-layer hierarchical structure. A pair wise analytic hierarchy process （AHP） questionnaire was designed and distributed to experts who were familiar with implementing CPFR in the retailing industry. After questionnaires were returned, we found out the weights of each impact factor by using a fuzzy analytic hierarchy process （fuzzy AHP） approach. The importance of each critical impact factor was investigated, and the paths of the critical success factors were also analyzed. The results of this study can provide more precise information with regard to allocating optimal resources for retailers implementing CPFR.

A TWO-PHASE APPROACH TO FUZZY SYSTEM IDENTIFICATION

A two-phase approach to fuzzy system identification is proposed. The first phase produces a baseline design to identify a prototype fuzzy system for a target system from a collection of input-output data pairs. It uses two easily implemented clustering techniques: the subtractive clustering method and the fuzzy c-means (FCM) clustering algorithm. The second phase (fine tuning) is executed to adjust the parameters identified in the baseline design. This phase uses the steepest descent and recursive least-squares estimation methods. The proposed approach is validated by applying it to both a function approximation type of problem and a classification type of problem. An analysis of the learning behavior of the proposed approach for the two test problems is conducted for further confirmation.
