Toward Cloud-Based Parking Facility Management System: A Preliminary Study

An e-tag used on the freeway is a kind of passive sensors composed of sensors and radio- frequency identification （RFID） tags. The principle of the electronic toll collection system is that the sensor emits radio waves touching the e-tag within a certain range, the e-tag will respond to the radio waves by induction, and the sensor will read and write information of the vehicles. Although the RFID technology is popularly used in campus management systems, there is no e-tag technology application used in a campus parking system. In this paper, we use the e-tag technology on a campus parking management system based on the cloud-based construction. By this, it helps to achieve automated and standardized management of the campus parking system, enhance management efficiency, reduce the residence time of the vehicles at the entrances and exits, and improve the efficiency of vehicles parked at the same time.

Call Warrants Impact on Underlying Stocks： The Taiwan Experience

On the basis of the price, volume and volatility of underlying stocks, this article empirically investigates the impact of 273 Taiwan call warrants on underlying stocks. Discussions by the market risk, depth, tightness and liquidity, changes on underlying stocks due to warrants issuance, are investigated. In this study, the CAPM is applied for evaluating the market risk, the Kyle model for the market depth, the averaged best five bid-ask spread for the market tightness and the averaged turnover rate for the market liquidity. The empirical results indicate that the most significant influence is the market liquidity, the market tightness next; the market risk and market depth are non-significant.

Keeping Diary in Parentheses＂ The Absent Images and theVisible Voices in Jonas Mekas＇s The Song of Avila

This paper aims to discuss the parenthetical audiovisual structure in the diary film. First, by combining theories anddiscussions from linguistic and literature, the author will compare both positive and negative perspectives andexamine how the parenthesis is used in different texts. Next, the author will focus on how the notions of parenthesisturn from initially being considered as surplus, subordinate, and inferior, to the re-evaluation of their role as asignificant and indispensable part of the text, and most importantly, as the sign of the author＇s presence in the text.Borrowing Laura Rascaroli＇s concept of ＂sonic interstices,＂ the author will look at how the voice-over in the diaryfilm functions and relates itself to the images in the space created by parenthetical insertion. Finally, the author willexamine Jonas Mekas＇s diary film--The Song of Avila as a case study, analyzing the relationship between thevoice-over and the images in this film by applying my concept of a parenthetical structure.

The Influence of Fitness Between Message Framing and Audience Regulatory Focus on Green Concern Advertisements Persuasion Effect

This study discusses the application of the regulatory focus of the individual motivation systems to green public service advertisements advocating environmental protection. First, it aims to determine whether the previously proposed regulatory fit theory can be applied to public service advertisements with characteristics different from those of commercial advertisements. Second, it aims to understand how to design messages to achieve the best effect on audiences with different foci. This study takes the regulatory focus theory as the basis and green public service advertisements as the films. After adopting 2 ~ 2 ~ 2 three-factor design to test the interaction relations among the individual regulatory focus, message regulatory focus, and message framing. The results from the 217 college respondents indicate that the audience is influenced by regulatory focus when receiving messages from public service advertisements, which is similar to the influence of commercial advertisements. That is, when audience with a promotion focus, films with promotion focus and positive framing have a best advertisement effect. On the other hand, the audience with a prevention focus, films with prevention focus and negative framing also has a better advertisement effect.

The Knowledge Base Development for the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines

Web Content Accessibility Guideline (WCAG) proposed by Web Accessibility Initiative is the most recognized regulation in the world in evaluating the accessibility of web contents and is one of the W3Cdocumentations. Currently,the WCAG documents are maintained as a non-computable dictionary like resources. In this study, we proposed a methodology to develop an ontological knowledge base with rules for the WCAG 2.0. Two WCAG techniques in different groups of techniques are used to illustrate the creation of the knowledge base and their application programming interfaces. For demonstrating purpose, a web-based WCAG validation system is built. With the proposed knowledge base and interfaces, computer programs can decide whether certain web content satisfies a particular WCAG technique. In other words, the WCAG documents have been successfully trans-formed to a computable recourse. Such sharable knowledge base and programming interfaces can be embedded into any system requiring the WCAG knowledge.

An alternative lattice algorithm for option pricing

This paper proposes a dimension reduction technique on lattice model, an extension of the discrete CRR （1979） model, for option pricing. Applications are demonstrated on pricing some vulnerable options with the payoff functions including two stochastic processes： the underlying stock price and the assets value of the option writer. Instead of building a bivariate tree structure for these correlated processes, a univariate binomial tree for the underlying stock price is only constructed. The proposed univariate binomial tree model is sufficient to undertake, though two underlying assets are involved.

Efficient password authentication schemes based on a geometric approach for a multi-server environment

Password authentication schemes based on a geometric approach are proposed. Based on geometrics such as a plane or space, the proposed schemes can be used to fulfill the various requirements for security and achieve more efficient results. They allow a user to register with many servers once without remembering different passwords for each, and also allow a user to change the password freely and update it offline. In addition, the proposed schemes do not need to maintain a verification table and are also computationally efficient. Moreover, we propose a specific access right (AR) to verify the legitimate user who has different authorization levels on a server in a multi-server environment.
