Based on the development of a coupled thermo-mechanical plane strain large deformation orthogonal cutting model, the numerical simulation for elastic recovery process of ultra-precision machined surface of oxygen-free high-conductivity(OFHC) copper was performed. The simulation results indicate that the spring-back of machined surface is less than 10nm when the depth of cut reaches the same order of cutting edge radius. But with the decrement of cutting edge radius or depth of cut, the elastic recovery will reduce due to the decline of extrusion between diamond cutting tools edge and chip or machined surface. 展开更多
