Based on this fact the rate of anterograde transport was investigated and at the same time the rate of retrograde transport and the time of disappearance of HRP in the labeled sites were observed. Twenty-two rabbits weighing 2—2.2 kg were used, HRP (30%, 1.2μ1) was injected unilaterally into the L6 spinal cord. The animals were decapitated 12 hr to 7 days after the injection and their brains were processed with o-dionisidine. Labeling in the brain stem was then searched for. The ante-展开更多

After injecting HRP into the spinal cord of the cat, we have also found some connections hitherto undescribed or not fully described. The HRP is generally used as a retrograde tracer. Some short-distance HRP anterograde tracing studies have also been published.展开更多

However, direct hypothalamo-spinal projection has been discovered recently in several species by means of the horseradish peroxidase tracing technique. No unequivoeal evidence of direct spino-hypothalamic projection is available. Seven rabbits were used in the present study. 30% aqueous horseradish peroxidase (Sigma Ⅵ)展开更多

The method has advantages of higher sensitivity, time-saving, good reproducibility and has no radioactivity problems. A satisfactory result is obtained by comparing it with 51Cr release method. It demonstrates that the new marker provides an alternative to currently used radioactive markers for the assessment of in vitro cellular cytotoxicity.展开更多
