Mechanism of Peracetic Acid-induced Resistance Against Verticillium Eggplant Wilt

Peracetic acid has proved to be an effective inducer against verticillium eggplant wilt, which could achieve a 60%~90% control effect and keep over 20 days. Peracetic acid treatment 96 h before challenge inoculation induced significant contents change of both total and soluble calcium in true leaves of eggplant resistant cultivar Xi’anluqie and susceptible cultivar Liaoqie4. For both cultivars, the calcium temporl contents changes in the leaves of different positions reflected the pathway of signal transduction related to induced resistance within plants. After challenge inoculation, total and soluble Ca2+ content change more greatly in the induced eggplant than in the control, derivational change of calcium contents in eggplant leaves led to the change of PAL、PPO、POD、SOD. changed activities of which built up eggplant resistance against verticillium wilt, Ca2+ content change、defensive enzyme activity and eggplant resistance level showed the positive correlation. therefore Ca2+ was presumed to participate induction of eggplant verticillium wilt defensive response through signalling, activated those defensive enzymes to improve host resistance to verticillum eggplant wilt. 展开更多

Hydrolysis of dipeptide heptyl esters with Newlase F was studied in phosphate buffer-organic solvent by HPLC. When the Newlase F's level reached 5 mg/mL under mild condition (PH 7.0, 30 degreesC), the lipase had the highest activity. The reaction was also affected greatly by organic solvents and their concentrations. It is found that protease in Newlase F does not hydrolyze amide bond under this condition (pH 7.0, r.t.). 展开更多

The Human Genome Project(HGP)has paved the way for the Digital Personal Genomes(DPG),whereby a person’s complete genome sequence serves as the primary entry for the Digital Healthcare Systems(DHS).If the goal is to deliver PDG on demand,affordability,mainly the cost,becomes one of the primary issues.However,as a once-in-a-lifetime event,a total cost of US$100 is close to$1 per year contribution.Therefore,what remains is still largely an engineering challenge,since a multi-fold reduction of the current per-genome sequencing cost may be achievable by increasing the scale of operation and the degree of automation over 5–10 years.The second issue is to differentiate scientific achievements from what is applicable to the healthcare systems and human well-being in general.The original thought of HGP is to understand the genetics of cancers—an idea or a proposal was made and debated in the early 1980s,and it is still clear that we need both high-quality genome sequences and time to fully understand their encoded biological information;the success of HGP lies on the separation of these two goals. 展开更多

新型冠状病毒肺炎(COVID-19,新冠病毒)的流行严重影响了世界经济和人类健康.随着新冠病毒基因组序列的迅速积累,国际上已经检测和发表了成千上万的基因组变异.为了更好地追踪新冠病毒基因组进化轨迹,并实时解析疫情发展进程中的病毒基... 新型冠状病毒肺炎(COVID-19,新冠病毒)的流行严重影响了世界经济和人类健康.随着新冠病毒基因组序列的迅速积累,国际上已经检测和发表了成千上万的基因组变异.为了更好地追踪新冠病毒基因组进化轨迹,并实时解析疫情发展进程中的病毒基因组特征,本研究分析了121618个高质量的病毒基因组.基于参考基因组第8782和28144位点上的单核苷酸变异(SNV),首先将这些病毒基因组划分为L和S两个主要谱系;根据第3037、14408和23403位点上的SNV,进一步将L谱系划分为L1和L2两个主要亚谱系.在此基础上,根据另外201个基因组变异位点,逐级划分出了130个亚谱系(S中37个, L1中35个, L2中58个).该谱系/亚谱系划分系统具有层次结构,反映了主要谱系中的亚谱系之间的亲缘关系.本研究同时建立了一个配套网站(www.covid19evolution.net),不仅方便用户查看亚谱系信息,而且提供了谱系划分工具,用户可以通过上传新冠病毒基因组序列,做谱系类型鉴定.最后,本研究讨论了代偿突变和自然选择在新冠病毒进化过程中可能起到的作用.本研究将增进对新冠病毒基因组时空动态进化的理解. 展开更多
