In an attempt to develop new method of treating the end ormid stage pancreatic cancer, we examined the effect of ischemic re perfusion injury plus particle embolism on the pathology and cell apoptosis of pancreatic cancer in Sprague Dawely rats. Methods. 9 mg dimethylbeneanthracine (DMBA) were implanted directly into the parenchyma of pancreatic tail of Sprague Dawely rats. After establishment of tumor, the inferior splenic artery, a main supplying vessel to pancreatic tail was subjected to blockade and re opening for 30 min separately, then embolism particles were infused via the artery. Afterwards, artery was ligated. Pathological changes and cell apoptosis indicators (AI) of pancreatic cancer were observed by light microscopy and ISEL respectively 14 days after the operation. Results. The prevalence of pancreatic cancer among DMBA implanted rats evaluated 3 months to 4 months after implantation was 59%. The volumes of the tumor in positive control group (B), pancreatic ischemic group (C), pancreatic ischemic re perfusion injury group (D) were significantly larger than pancreatic ischemic re perfusion injury plus particle thrombus group (E) (P< 0.01). Thevolumes of the tumor in groups D, E were significantly smaller than that in group C (P< 0.01). There was a significant difference in tumor size between group Band group C (P< 0.01), but the difference was not significant between group D and group E (P >0.05). There was a significant infiltration of tumor tissue in group B rats, but strong inflammatory reaction was not noted. In groups C, D, E, alocalized tumor growth was observed; infiltration of inflammatory cells and proliferation of fibroblasts and connective fiber were obvious, and some of these fibers grew into cancer nests and separate the tumor. The above findings were most conspicuous in group E. There was a significant difference in AI between group E (13.7±1.5)and other groups (P< 0.01), with the difference being also significant between group C(4.3±2.4), D (8.5±1.1)and group B (1.2±0.8)(P< 0.01), and between group C and group D (P< 0.01) or between group D and group E (P< 0.01). In the samples of group A, the apoptotic cells were not found. Conclusions. Pancreatic ischemic re perfusion injury plus particle thrombus can cause significant infiltration of inflammatory cells in tumor tissues thereby limiting its growth, and inducing cell apoptosis of pancreatic cancer. This effect is superior to either pancreatic ischemia alone or pancreatic ischemia plus re perfusion injury.展开更多

Within a certain range of load, the correlation of strain to stress was basically a linear relationship. The...The epidemiological survey of prevalence of NIDDM (non_insulin dependent diabetes mellitus) and IGT(impaired glucose tolerance)was conducted among 9450 residents aged 25~70 in some areas of Hubei Province, China. The results show that NIDDM and IGT prevalences are 2.62% and 4.48%, respectively. There is no significant difference between male and female ( P >0.05). The NIDDM prevalence in cities is slightly higher than that in countryside, but the difference is not significant ( P >0.05). However, the IGT prevalence in city is significantly higher than that in countryside ( P <0.01). The prevalence of both NIDDM and IGT is increasing along with the age of the population. It is also significantly related to the family history of NIDDM, hypertension, and high body mass index (BMI). By using stepwise logistic regression to analyse the risk factors of NIDDM, age ( OR =1.86),BMI( OR =2.69), family history ( OR =2.84) and hypertension \{( OR =2.23)\} entered the model (significance level is α =0.05)展开更多
The acute neurotoxicity of delta-methrin is thought to be associated with the release of grutamate from synaptosomes in brain.However,the mechanism how delta-methrin enhances the glutamate release has still not been e...The acute neurotoxicity of delta-methrin is thought to be associated with the release of grutamate from synaptosomes in brain.However,the mechanism how delta-methrin enhances the glutamate release has still not been elucidated.Here we report that both carbon monoxide(CO) and the activator of protein kinase C(PKC),similarly to delta-methrin,potentiate the Ca^2+-dependent glutamate release from rat cerebral cortical synaptosomes,otherwise,the release of glutamate is inhibited by zinc proporphyrin-9(ZnPP-9) and inhibitors of PKC or of protein kinase G(PKG).In addition,the inhibitors of ZnPP-9 PKC and PKG seem to weaken the enhancement of glutamate releas caused by delta-methrin.So,we conclude that CO signal transduction pathway and PKC mediate the glutamate release from synptosomes by delta-methrin.展开更多

Purpose:To explore the toxicity of Mitomycin C(MMC)on trabecular meshwork cells.Methods:Bovine trabecular meshwork cells were cultured in vitro and exposed to MMC of different concentrations,The cellular morphology,ul...Purpose:To explore the toxicity of Mitomycin C(MMC)on trabecular meshwork cells.Methods:Bovine trabecular meshwork cells were cultured in vitro and exposed to MMC of different concentrations,The cellular morphology,ultrastructure,mortality and phagocytosis was studied with light microscopy,transmission electron microscopy and methods of Wright's stain ,etc.Results:It was found that the toxic effect of MMC on the cells was in a dose-dependent mode,1×10^-2and1×10^-3mg/mlofMMC caused a large part of cells dead,1×10^-4and1×10^-5mg/mlof the drug had remarkable killing effect on the cells,1×10^-6mg/ml of MMC had still a mild toxicity,while1×10^-7mg/ml of MMChad not any influence on cellular morphology,mortality,and phagocytosis,etc.The safe concentration o n bovine trabecular meshwork cells was1×10^7mg/ml and the LD50 was between1×10^-3and1×10^-4mg/ml.Conclusions:Refering to previous data,we conclude that conventional clinical-application of MMC might do harm to trabecular meshwork cells.Eye Science2000;16:38-42.展开更多
