The multi-messenger observations of the merger event in GW170817 did not rule out the possibility that the remnant might be a dynamically stable neutron star with <img src="Edit_01b04c31-b94c-4b32-bd17-d6383ca16545.bmp" alt="" />. Based on this and other recent events, I argue that the universal maximum density hypothesis should be revived. Accordingly, the central densities in the cores of ultra-compact objects must be upper-limited by the critical density number <em>n</em><sub><em>cr</em></sub>, beyond which supranuclear dense matter becomes purely incompressible. Based on the spacetime-matter coupling in GR, it is shown that the topology of spacetime embedding incompressible quantum fluids with <em>n</em>=<em style="white-space:normal;">n</em><sub style="white-space:normal;"><em>cr </em></sub>must be Minkowski flat, which implies that spacetime at the background of ultra-compact objects should be bimetric. 展开更多

The Progenitor of the Big Bang and Its Connection to the Flatness and Acceleration of the Universe 被引量:1

It was argued that old and massive neutron stars end up as black objects that are made of purely incompressible superconducting gluon-quark superfluid matter (henceforth SuSu-objects). Based on theoretical investigations and numerical solving of the field equations with time-dependent spacetime topologies, I argue that a dense cluster of SuSu-objects at the background of flat spacetime that merged smoothly is a reliable candidate for the progenitor of the big bang. Here, we present and use a new time-dependent spacetime metric, which unifies the metrics of Minkowski, Schwarzschild, and Friedmann as well as a modified TOV-equation for modeling dynamical contractions of relativistic objects. Had the progenitor undergone an abrupt decay, a hadronizing front forms at its surface and starts propagating from outside-to-inside, thereby hadronizing its entire content and changing the topology of the embedding spacetime from a flat into a dynamically expanding curved one. For an observer located at the center of the progenitor, H<sub>0</sub>, the universe would be seen as isotropic and homogeneous, implying therefore that the last big bang event must have occurred in our neighborhood. For the curved spacetime re-converges into a flat one, whereas the outward-propagation topological front, which separates the enclosed curved spacetime from the exterior flat one, would appear spatially and temporally accelerating outwards. The here-presented scenario suggests possible solutions to the flatness problem, the origin of acceleration of the universe and the pronounced activities of high redshift QSOs. We anticipate that future observations by the James-Webb-Telescope to support our scenario when active QSOs with z >12 would be detected. 展开更多

Recent astronomical observations of high redshift quasars, dark matter-dominated galaxies, mergers of neutron stars, glitch phenomena in pulsars, cosmic microwave background and experimental data from hadronic colliders do not rule out, but they even support the hypothesis that the energy-density in our universe most likely is upper-limited by <span style="white-space:nowrap;"><i>p<sub>max</sub><sup style="margin-left:-25px;">uni</sup></i> </span>which is predicted to lie between 2 to 3 the nuclear density <em>p</em><sub>0</sub>. Quantum fluids in the cores of massive NSs with <em>p </em><span style="white-space:nowrap;"><span style="white-space:nowrap;">≈</span><i> <span style="white-space:nowrap;"><i>p<sub>max</sub><sup style="margin-left:-25px;">uni</sup></i> </span></i><span style="white-space:nowrap;">e</span>a</span>ch the maximum compressibility state, where they become insensitive to further compression by the embedding spacetime and undergo a phase transition into the purely incompressible gluon-quark superfluid state. A direct correspondence between the positive energy stored in the embedding spacetime and the degree of compressibility and superfluidity of the trapped matter is proposed. In this paper relevant observational signatures that support the maximum density hypothesis are reviewed, a possible origin of <span style="white-space:nowrap;"><i>p<sub>max</sub><sup style="margin-left:-25px;">uni</sup></i> </span>i<span style="white-space:nowrap;">s pr</span>oposed and finally the consequences of this scenario on the spacetime’s topology of the universe as well as on the mechanisms underlying the growth rate and power of the high redshift QSOs are discussed. 展开更多

We investigate two possible dissipative couplings of Majorana fermions to external systems, including metallic leads and local phonons. While the dissipation when coupling to metallic leads to uninteresting states for the Majorana fermions, we show that coupling the Majorana fermions to local phonons allows to generate arbitrary dissipations and therefore universal quantum operations on a single QuBit that can be enhanced by additional two-QuBit operations. 展开更多

The Remnant of GW170817: A Trapped Neutron Star with a Massive Incompressible Superfluid Core

Our bimetric spacetime model of glitching pulsars is applied to the remnant of GW170817. Accordingly, pulsars are born with embryonic incompressible superconducting gluon-quark superfluid cores (SuSu-matter) that are embedded in Minkowski spacetime, whereas the ambient compressible and dissipative media (CDM) are imbedded in curved spacetime. As pulsars cool down, the equilibrium between both spacetime is altered, thereby triggering the well-observed glitch phenomena. Based thereon and assuming all neutron stars (<em>NSs</em>) to be born with the same initial mass of <img src="Edit_4d2d9e5f-812f-41d7-9422-5cfb3fc10997.bmp" alt="" />, we argue that the remnant of GW170817 should be a relatively faint <em>NS</em> with a massive central core made of SuSu-matter. The effective mass and radius of the remnant are predicted to be <img src="Edit_6702e3a8-abff-41f9-a45b-a2bc1e6c61b0.bmp" alt="" /> and <span style="white-space:nowrap;"><em>R</em><sub><em>rem</em></sub>=10.764 Km</span>, whereas the mass of the enclosed SuSu-core is <img src="Edit_6fe43fca-e33b-45a6-b846-bd7a09d4b8dd.bmp" alt="" />. Here, about 1/2<em>M</em><sub><em>core</em></sub> is an energy enhancement triggered by the phase transition of the gluon-quark-plasma from the microscopic into macroscopic scale. The current compactness of the remnant is <img src="Edit_38ced5f8-6f72-44d8-a3c9-89c2eaf73e0e.bmp" alt="" />, but predicted to increase as the CDM and cools down, rendering the remnant an invisible dark energy object, and therefore to an excellent black hole candidate. 展开更多

Objective: To disclose possible influences of alcoholic beverages on restenosi s rate in men with coronary artery disease treated with percutaneous translumina l coronary angioplasty (PTCA) and stent implantation. Design: Retrospective coho rt study. Patients: 225 consecutive male patients underwent PTCA and stent impla ntation. All patients had a control angiography and were contacted for a questio nnaire regarding their drinking habits. Main outcome measures: Mean late loss of luminal diameter, rate of coronary restenosis of 50%or more within the stented segment, and rate of repeat angioplasty. Results: 53 patients (with 80 stents) consumed< 50 g of alcohol a week and 172(with 266 stents) consumed more (50-700 g a week). Baseline characteristics were similar in both groups except for a hi gher prevalence of reduced cardiac function and multivessel disease and a lower high density lipoprotein cholesterol concentration among patients who consumed l ittle or no alcohol. Patients who consumed ≥50 g alcohol a week had a lower mea n late loss of the luminal diameter (1.1 (0.79)mm v 1.45 (0.82) mm, p=0.002), a lower rate of coronary restenosis within the stented segment (33.7%v 48.8%, p= 0.001), and a lower rate of repeat angioplasty(23.3%v 42.5%, p=0.002). In mult ivariate analysis, only alcohol consumption and diabetes were independent and si gnificant discriminators for late loss of luminal diameter (p=0.005 and p=0.01, respectively), restenosis(odds ratio 0.54 and 2.08, respectively), and repeat an gioplasty(odds ratio 0.39 and 2.18, respectively). Conclusion: Alcohol intake is associated with reduced restenosis after PTCA and stent implantation. 展开更多

Rashes are common side effects of these drugs. In this study, we examined the characteristics of efavirenz- and nevirapine- associated rashes. This prospective nonrandomized multicenter study included 662 HIV- infected patients (efavirenz: 325, nevirapine: 337) to determine incidence, duration, cross- reactivity, and outcome upon reexposure. Of the treated patients, 4.5% (n=30) developed rashes (nevirapine: 2.4% and efavirenz: 6.4% ). In four patients treatment was not interrupted. Three patients were reexposed to the initial drug without any side effects. Therapy with nevirapine or efavirenz does not have to be interrupted if rashes exhibit no blistering, mucosal manifestations, or systemic signs. 展开更多
