Ni_(0.6)CoFe_(1.4)Nbx(x = 0, 0.05, 0.08, 0.10, and 0.15, in molar ratio) MEAs were prepared using vacuum induction melting. Results show that the new alloy is composed of BCC plus FCC dual phases featuring a network-like structure, and the BCC phase is the main phase in this alloy system. Moreover, the Nb0.10 MEA shows high strength and respectable tensile ductility, representing the best combination of the strength and fracture elongation among the alloys studied here. The remarkable strength of the Nb0.10 MEA is attributed to the combined effect of the solid solution strengthening, the precipitation hardening effect and the interface strengthening effect.展开更多

Although the mechanisms by which diabetes inducescardiovascular diseases include oxidative stress and inflammation, when insulinresistance remains the key to the pathogenesis, as implicated in the two reviews inthis issue. This editorial mainly comments on the potential preventive applicationof glycyrrhetinic acid (or 18β-GA) in relation to diabetic nephropathy. The therapeuticor preventive effects of 18β-GA, as a hydrolytic product of glycy-rrhizicacid that is a component of licorice, have been appreciated in other disorders, buthave received much less attention in relation to diabetic complications. 文摘Rubidium(Rb)deposits mostly occur in the South China and Central Asia orogenic belts and are often closely associated with highly differentiated granites. This study investigates a newly-discovered giant Rb deposit at Gariatong in the Central Lhasa terrane in Tibet.Detailed field studies and logging data revealed that the Rb mineralization mainly occurs in monzogranite and is related to greisenization.LA-ICP-MS U-Pb dating of zircon yielded ages of 19.1±0.2 Ma and 19.0±0.2 Ma for greisenized monzogranite and fresh monzogranite, respectively. The monzogranites are characterized as strongly peraluminous, with high contents of SiO2,Al2O3,K2O and Na2O as well as a high differentiation index. They are enriched in light rare earth and large ion lithophile elements with significant negative Eu anomalies and depleted high fieldstrength elements.Petrological and geochemical features of these ore-related monzogranites suggest that they are highly fractionated S-type granites, derived from remelting of crustal materials in a post-collisional setting. The geochemistry of zircon and apatite points to a low oxygen fugacity of the ore-related monzogranite during the magma’s evolution. The discovery of the Gariatong Rb deposit suggests that the Central Lhasa terrane may be an important region for rare metal mineralization.

文摘Background The gut microbiota influences chicken health, welfare, and productivity.A diverse and balanced microbiota has been associated with improved growth, efficient feed utilisation,a well-developed immune system, disease resistance, and stress tolerance in chickens.Previous studies on chicken gut microbiota have predominantly focused on broiler chickens and have usually been limited to one or two sections of the digestive system, under con-trolled research environments, and often sampled at a single time point. To extend these studies, this investigation examined the microbiota of commercially raised layer chickens across all major gut sections of the digestive system and with regular sampling from rearing to the end of production at 80 weeks. The aim was to build a detailed picture of microbiota development across the entire digestive system of layer chickens and study spatial and temporal dynamics. Results The taxonomic composition of gut microbiota differed significantly between birds in the rearing and pro-duction stages, indicating a shift after laying onset.Similar microbiota compositions were observed between proven-triculus and gizzard,as well as between jejunum and ileum, likely due to their anatomical proximity.Lactobacil-lus dominated the upper gut in pullets and the lower gut in older birds. The oesophagus had a high proportion of Proteobacteria, including opportunistic pathogens such as Gallibacterium.Relative abundance of Gallibacterium increased after peak production in multiple gut sections.Aeriscardovia was enriched in the late-lay phase compared to younger birds in multiple gut sections.Age influenced microbial richness and diversity in different organs. The upper gut showed decreased diversity over time, possibly influenced by dietary changes, while the lower gut,specifi-cally cecum and colon, displayed increased richness as birds matured.However,age-related changes were inconsist-ent across all organs, suggesting the influence of organ-specific factors in microbiota maturation. Conclusion Addressing a gap in previous research, this study explored the microbiota across all major gut sections and tracked their dynamics from rearing to the end of the production cycle in commercially raised layer chickens. This study provides a comprehensive understanding of microbiota structure and development which help to develop targeted strategies to optimise gut health and overall productivity in poultry production.

文摘Urea holds promise as an alternative water-oxidation substrate in electrolytic cells.High-valence nickelbased spinel, especially after heteroatom doping, excels in urea oxidation reactions(UOR).However, traditional spinel synthesis methods with prolonged high-temperature reactions lack kinetic precision, hindering the balance between controlled doping and highly active two-dimensional(2D)porous structures design. This significantly impedes the identification of electron configuration-dependent active sites in doped 2D nickel-based spinels.Herein,we present a microwave shock method for the preparation of 2D porous NiCo_(2)O_(4)spinel.Utilizing the transient on-off property of microwave pulses for precise heteroatom doping and 2D porous structural design,non-metal doping(boron, phosphorus, and sulfur)with distinct extranuclear electron disparities serves as straightforward examples for investigation.Precise tuning of lattice parameter reveals the impact of covalent bond strength on NiCo_(2)O_(4)structural stability. The introduced defect levels induce unpaired d-electrons in transition metals, enhancing the adsorption of electron-donating amino groups in urea molecules.Simultaneously,Bode plots confirm the impact mechanism of rapid electron migration caused by reduced band gaps on UOR activity. The prepared phosphorus-doped 2D porous NiCo_(2)O_(4),with optimal electron configuration control, outperforms most reported spinels. This controlled modification strategy advances understanding theoretical structure-activity mechanisms of high-performance 2D spinels in UOR.
文摘This editorial is stimulated by the article by Alqifari et al published in the World Journal of Diabetes(2024).Alqifari et al focus on practical advice for the clinical use of glucagon-like-peptide-1(GLP-1)receptor agonists(GLP-1RAs)in the management of type 2 diabetes and this editorial provides complementary information. We initially give a brief historical perspective of the development of GLP-1RAs stimulated by recognition of the‘incretin effect’,the substantially greater insulin increase to enteral when compared to euglycaemic intravenous glucose, and the identification of the incretin hormones,GIP and GLP-1.In addition to stimulating insulin,GLP-1 reduces postprandial glucose levels by slowing gastric emptying.GLP-1RAs were developed because native GLP-1 has a very short plasma half-life.The majority of current GLP-1RAs are administered by subcutaneous injection once a week. They are potent in glucose lowering without leading to hypoglycaemia, stimulate weight loss in obese individuals and lead to cardiovascular and renal protection. The landscape in relation to GLP-1RAs is broadening rapidly, with different formulations and their combination with other peptides to facilitate both glucose lowering and weight loss. There is a need for more information relating to the effects of GLP-1RAs to induce gastrointestinal symptoms and slow gastric emptying which is likely to allow their use to become more effective and personalised.

文摘Developing wide-temperature and high-safety lithium-ion batteries(LIBs)presents significant challenges attributed to the absence of suitable solvents possessing broad liquid range and non-flammability properties.γ-Butyrolactone(GBL)has emerged as a promising solvent;however, its incompatibility with graphite anode has hindered its application. This limitation necessitates a comprehensive investigation into the underlying mechanisms and potential solutions. In this study,we achieve a molecular-level understanding of the perplexing interphase formation process by employing in-situ spectroelectrochemical techniques and density function calculations. Our findings reveal that, even at high salt concentrations,GBL consistently occupies the primary Li^(+)solvation sheath, leading to extensive GBL decomposition and the formation of a high-impedance and inorganic-poor solid-electrolyte interphase(SEI)layer.Contrary to manipulating solvation structures, our research demonstrates that the utilization of filmforming additives with higher reduction potential facilitates the pre-establishment of a robust SEI film on the graphite anode. This approach effectively inhibits GBL decomposition and significantly enhances the battery's lifespan. This study provides the first reported intrinsic understanding of the unique GBLgraphite incompatibility and offers valuable insights for the development of wide-temperature and high-safety LIBs.

文摘A suitable bearing capacity of foundation is critical for the safety of civil structures.Sometimes foundation reinforcement is necessary and an effective and environmentally friendly method would be the preferred choice. In this study, the potential application of enzyme-induced carbonate precipitation(EICP)was investigated for reinforcing a 0.6 m bedding layer on top of clay to improve the bearing capacity of the foundation underneath an underground cable duct.Laboratory experiments were conducted to determine the optimal operational parameters for the extraction of crude urease liquid and optimal grain size range of sea sands to be used to construct the bedding layer.Field tests were planned based on orthogonal experimental design to study the factors that would significantly affect the biocementation effect on site. The dynamic deformation modulus, calcium carbonate content and longterm ground stress variations were used to evaluate the bio-cementation effect and the long-term performance of the EICP-treated bedding layer. The laboratory test results showed that the optimal duration for the extraction of crude urease liquid is 1 h and the optimal usage of soybean husk powder in urease extraction solution is 100 g/L.The calcium carbonate production rate decreases significantly when the concentration of cementation solution exceeds 0.5 mol/L.The results of site trial showed that the number of EICP treatments has the most significant impact on the effectiveness of EICP treatment and the highest dynamic deformation modulus(Evd)of EICP-treated bedding layer reached 50.55 MPa.The area with better bio-cementation effect was found to take higher ground stress which validates that the EICP treatment could improve the bearing capacity of foundation by reinforcing the bedding layer. The field trial described and the analysis introduced in this paper can provide a practical basis for applying EICP technology to the reinforcement of bedding layer in poor ground conditions.

文摘Designing strong, yet ductile, and body-centered cubic(BCC) medium-entropy alloys(MEAs) remains to be a challenge nowadays. In this study, the strength–ductility trade-off of Ni_(0.6)CoFe_(1.4)MEAs was tackled via introducing a BCC + face-centered cubic(FCC) dual-phase microstructure. The remarkable strength of the Nb0.10 MEA is attributed to the combined effect of the solid solution strengthening, the precipitation hardening effect and the interface strengthening effect.

文摘Sophisticated efficient electrocatalysts are essential to rectifying the shuttle effect and realizing the high performance of flexible lithium-sulfur batteries(LSBs).Phase transformation of MoSe_(2) from the 2H phase to the 1T phase has been proven to be a significant method to improve the catalytic activity. However, precisely controllable phase engineering of MoSe_(2) has rarely been reported.Herein,by in situ Li ions intercalation in MoSe_(2),a precisely controllable phase evolution from 2H-MoSe_(2) to 1T-MoSe_(2) was realized.More importantly, the definite functional relationship between cut-off voltage and phase structure was first identified for phase engineering through in situ observation and modulation methods. The sulfur host(CNFs/1T-MoSe_(2))presents high charge density, strong polysulfides adsorption, and catalytic kinetics.Moreover,Li-S cells based on it display capacity retention of 875.3mAh g^(-1) after 500 cycles at 1 C and an areal capacity of 8.71mAh cm^(-2) even at a high sulfur loading of 8.47mg cm^(-2).Furthermore,the flexible pouch cell exhibiting decent performance will endow a promising potential in the wearable energy storage field. This study proposes an effective strategy to precisely control the phase structure of MoSe_(2),which may provide the reference to fabricate the highly efficient electrocatalysts for LSBs and other energy systems.

文摘The Neoproterozoic evolution of the Jiangnan Orogen is important for understanding the tectonic history of South China. As a volcanic-sedimentary sequence developed in the Nanhua rift, the Banxi Group preserves the records of important magmatic and tectonic events linked to the assembly and breakup of the Rodinia supercontinent. In this study,we report the results from whole-rock major-and trace-element concentrations, with zircon LA-(MC)-ICP-MS U-Pb ages, trace elements and Lu-Hf isotopic compositions of sandstones from the Banxi Group. The rocks are characterized by high SiO_(2)(65.88%–82.76%,with an average of 75.50%)contents,moderate(Fe_(2)O_(3)^(T)+MgO)(1.81%–7.78%,mean:3.79%)and TiO_(2)(0.39%–0.54%,mean:0.48%),low K_(2)O/Na_(2)O(0.03–0.40,mean:0.10)ratios and low Al_2O_(3)/SiO_(2)(0.11–0.24,mean:0.15)ratios.The sandstones have highΣREE contents(mean:179.1 ppm),with chondrite-normalized REE patterns similar to the upper crust and PAAS,showing enriched LREE((La/Yb)_N mean:14.85),sub-horizontal HREE curves and mild Eu(Eu/Eu^(*):0.75–0.89,mean:0.81)negative anomalies.Their geochemical characteristics resemble those of passive continental margin sandstones. Most of the zircons are magmatic in origin and yield a U-Pb age distribution with three peaks:a major age peak at 805 Ma and two subordinate age peaks at 1990 Ma and 2470 Ma,implying three major magmatic sources. The Neoproterozoic zircons haveε_(Hf)(t)values ranging from-47.4 to 12.4(mostly-20 to 0),suggesting a mixture of some juvenile arc-derived material and middle Paleoproterozoic heterogeneous crustal sources. The Hf model ages of middle Paleoproterozoic zircons(~1990 Ma)with negativeε_(Hf)(t)values(-12.65 to-6.21,Ave.=-9.8)concentrated around the Meso-Paleoarchean(mean T_(DM)^(C)=3.3–3.1 Ga).For late Neoarchean detrital zircons(~2470 Ma),ε_(Hf)(t)values are divided into two groups, one with negative values(-9.16 to-0.6)with model ages of 3.5–2.9 Ga,the other featuring positive values(1.0 to 3.9)with model ages of 2.9–2.7 Ga,recording a crustal growth event at~2.5 Ga.Neoproterozoic zircons show volcanic arc affinities with partly intraplate magmatic features. We propose that the Banxi Group formed in a rift basin within a passive continental margin setting, which derived detritus from felsic to intermediate rocks from the Yangtze Block and a small amount of arc volcanic rocks. The middle Paleoproterozoic detrital zircon data suggest Columbia-aged basement lies beneath the western Jiangnan orogen.

文摘The“shuttle effect”of lithium polysulfides(LiPSs)is a huge challenge for practical use of high-energydensity lithium-sulfur(Li-S)batteries,and one of the main reasons is the sluggish kinetics of sulfur conversion.Metal oxides are able to expedite the sulfur electrochemistry, and the structural defects enhance the adsorption-conversion ability of metal oxides for polysulfides. However,a significant research gap still remains regarding the relationship between the oxygen vacancy concentration and the adsorptivecatalytic performance of metal oxides.Herein,we establish a correlation between oxygen vacancy concentration and adsorptive-catalytic properties by using tungsten oxide(WO_(x))as model catalysts. It is revealed that high-concentration oxygen vacancy is beneficial for enhancing the binding between tungsten oxide and LiPSs,reducing the energy barrier of Li_(2)S decomposition, and promoting polysulfide conversion kinetics.Consequently, the Li-S batteries using the tungsten oxide with high-concentration oxygen vacancies deliver high initial discharge capacity of 1169 mA h g^(-1)at 0.2 C and 865 mA h g^(-1)at 2 C,low attenuation rate of 0.064%per cycle over 1100 cycles at 2 C.With a high sulfur area loading of 5.34 mg cm^(-2),the Li-S batteries still exhibit high initial gravimetric capacity of 982 mA h g^(-1)at 0.1 C and areal capacity of 5.92 mA h cm^(-2).This work promotes the feasibility of defect engineering on metal oxides as an effective mean to enhance the practicality of Li-S batteries.

文摘Tilapia is a freshwater fish group with a sustainable prospect but suffers off-notes appearing during cooking processes. To promote pleasant odorants by thermal cooking processes, tilapia fillets were cooked in different ways(roasting,microwave-heating,boiling and steaming).Their aroma profiles were analysed with special focus on off-notes and umami-enhancing odorants by principal component analysis, and correlated with the heating time, colour, moisture and water activity by partial least squares regression analysis. Results showed that the“green”and“earthy”off-notes were highly correlated with the boiling process(excess of water, short heating time),while most of the umami-enhancing odorants had a high association with the roasting process(low water content, long heating time, better Maillard reaction). This study indicated that roasting is the most adapted cooking process promoting Maillard-derived aromas,umami-enhancing aromas and meanwhile, reducing off-notes.This research helps in understanding the off-note generation in tilapia and promoting desirable umami-enhancing odorants.
文摘Diabetes and associated complications represent major global public health issues which are associated with impaired quality of life and premature death.Although some diabetic complications have decreased in the developed world, the majority are still prevalent, with an increasing trend in the developing world.Currently used therapies are mainly‘glucocentric’,focusing on the optimization of glycemic control to prevent, delay or manage diabetes-associated complications-other common comorbidities, such as dyslipidemia and hypertension are often underestimated.Although a number of novel therapeutic approaches have been reported recently, some of them have not received comparable attention in relation to either further studies or potential clinical implementation. This editorial briefly discusses some recent therapeutic approaches to the prevention and management of diabetes and its associated complications,as well as potential directions for future research and development in this area.

文摘Rapid urbanization and population growth have triggered an increase in urban housing demand and rising housing prices, which can influence the migration intention of high-level talents.Much work within the literature has focused more on the migration of the general public. However, antecedents of migration intention and the impact of housing prices on the migration of high-level talents remain unclear. Therefore, based on the push-pull theory, this study investigates the influencing factors of talent migration intention and explores the role of housing prices. This study reveals a complex mechanism underlying migration decisions by using logistic regression models and survey data of high-level talents in the Pearl River Delta(PRD)megalopolis of China. The results indicate that:1)in high house-price regions, social integration is the primary push factor, and the main factors for retaining talents are the expectation of future work and intimate family relationships;2)in medium house-price regions, the main factors that attract talents are the current salary level and close family ties;3)in low house-price regions, living convenience is a determining factor in retaining talents. This study provides a new perspective for talent mobility research and offers valuable inputs for retaining and attracting talents in different economic development regions.Findings are of great significance for formulating talent introduction policies and forming a new pattern of rational spatial docking and effective allocation of human resources.

文摘Corn stalk hydrothermal wastewater(CSHW)was used as a pretreatment for whole-slurry anaerobic co-digestion instead of conventional acid pretreatment.CSHW pretreatment was conducted at 20℃,35℃and 50℃for 3,6 and 9 h,after which all experimental groups were digested at 35℃for 24 days. This pretreatment method efficiently broke the lignocellulose structure of the corn stalk.Different from the volatile fatty acids(VFAs)content, the pH and RS contents were relatively higher than those of the control during the pretreatment process.Furthermore, the highest methane production[185.03 mL•g-1 VS(volatile solid)]was achieved at 55.46%under 35℃in 6 h,which was higher than that of the normal corn stalk anaerobic digestion. The VFAs contents and pH increased compared to CK upon the addition of NaOH to adjust pH,and the RS content also increased slightly due to the degradability of lignocellulose during the whole-slurry anaerobic co-digestion.This work provided a potential method to sustainably treat wastewater and improve fermentation performance.
文摘Uncontrolled hyperglycemia or poorly managed disease increases the propensityfor a number of diabetes-related complications targeting major organs includingthe heart, eyes, and kidney. A study inthis issue has identified 18β-GA as a therapeutic for preventing diabeticnephropathy and provides evidence to support efficacy in cultured human renaltubule cells in vitro. Although it represents a pilot study, the observations supporta new therapeutic approach that warrants further ex-ploration.

文摘Van der Waals(VDW)heterojunctions in a 2D/2D contact provide the highest area for the separation and transfer of charge carriers. In this work,a top-down strategy with a gas erosion process was employed to fabricate a 2D/2D carbon nitride VDW heterojunction in carbon nitride(g-C_(3)N_(4))with carbon-rich carbon nitride. The created 2D semiconducting channel in the VDW structure exhibits enhanced electric field exposure and radiation absorption, which facilitates the separation of the charge carriers and their mobility.Consequently, compared with bulk g-C_(3)N_(4)and its nanosheets, the photocatalytic performance of the fabricated carbon nitride VDW heterojunction in the water splitting reaction to hydrogen is improved by 8.6 and 3.3 times, respectively, while maintaining satisfactory photo-stability.Mechanistically,the finite element method(FEM)was employed to evaluate and clarify the contributions of the formation of VDW heterojunction to enhanced photocatalysis,in agreement quantitatively with experimental ones. This study provides a new and effective strategy for the modification and more insights to performance improvement on polymeric semiconductors in photocatalysis and energy conversion.
