This paper describes a study investigating the potential of a controlled office solution by integrating the Internet of Things (IoT) with wireless sensor networks (WSNs). A prototype of a smart office is developed using a global system of mobile Bluetooth and Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology. The user can turn on and off the fan remotely at any time. This prototype focuses on security and provides human-friendly assistance when in or out of the Office by integrating a mobile application platform. The innovative automated smart Office is designed with intelligent Security doors, lights, alarms, temperature humidifiers, and bright Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) screens for viewing. Our study has opened up virtual possibilities for producing cheap innovative frameworks in this Generation of IoT and the fifth Generation (5G) technology. Therefore, when implemented, this innovation will ease and improve human quality of life. So, this paper aims to provide a low-cost, effective Internet of the things-based automated smart Office.展开更多

In this paper, we proposed a way to realize an Er-doped random fiber laser(RFL) with a disordered fiber Bragg grating(FBG) array, as well as to control the lasing mode of the RFL by heating specific locations of the d...In this paper, we proposed a way to realize an Er-doped random fiber laser(RFL) with a disordered fiber Bragg grating(FBG) array, as well as to control the lasing mode of the RFL by heating specific locations of the disordered FBG array. The disordered FBG array performs as both the gain medium and random distributed reflectors, which together with a tunable point reflector form the RFL. Coherent multi-mode random lasing is obtained with a threshold of between 7.5 and 10 mW and a power efficiency between 23% and 27% when the reflectivity of the point reflector changes from 4% to 50%. To control the lasing mode of random emission, a specific point of the disordered FBG array is heated so as to shift the wavelength of the FBG(s) at this point away from the other FBGs.Thus, different resonance cavities are formed, and the lasing mode can be controlled by changing the location of the heating point.展开更多

Steady-state absorption spectroscopy,circular dichroism,and resonance Raman spectroscopy have been used to investigate the thermal stability of LH2 complex isolated from purple photosynthetic bacterium Rps.palustris.T...Steady-state absorption spectroscopy,circular dichroism,and resonance Raman spectroscopy have been used to investigate the thermal stability of LH2 complex isolated from purple photosynthetic bacterium Rps.palustris.The results show that:1)upon increasing the temperature,a transition from B800 and B850 to free bacteriochlorophyll(B780)happens;2)a gradual decrease and disappearance of CD signal in visible region occur;3)a shift of the frequency,belonging to C==C and C—C stretching vibration,to higher wavenumber takes place.It is suggested that LH2 complex can be dissociated in the presence of B800,B850 and carotenoids simultaneously.Single-exponential fitting on the dynamic decay curves gives the apparent time constants of hundreds of minutes for various pigments.展开更多

The cointegration theory and the vector error correction model, the statistic methods which widely applied in economic analysis, are utilized...Abstract Multisensor systems are very powerful in the complex environments. The cointegration theory and the vector error correction model, the statistic methods which widely applied in economic analysis, are utilized to create a fitting model for homogeneous sensors measurements. An algorithm is applied to implement the model for error correction, in which the signal of any sensor can be esti mated from those of others. The model divides a signal series into two parts, the training part and the estimated part. By comparing the estimated part with the actual one, the proposed method can iden tify a sensor with possible faults and repair its signal. With a small amount of training data, the right parameters for the model in real time could be found by the algorithm. When applied in data analysis for aero engine testing, the model works well. Therefore, it is not only an effective method to detect any sensor failure or abnormality, but also a useful approach to correct possible errors.展开更多

Due to the hybrid structures of triple RESURF LDMOS (T-LDMOS) and traditional LIGBT, firstly, a wide p-type anode is beneficial to the small shift voltage (VST) and low specific on-resistance (Ron,sp) when the anode voltage (VA) is larger than VST. Secondly, a wide n-type anode and triple RESURF technology are used to get a low Ron,sp when VA is less than VST. Meanwhile, it can accelerate the extraction of electrons, which brings a low turn-off time (Toff). Experimental results show that: VST is only 0.9 V, Ron,sp (Ron × Area) are 11.7 and 3.6 Ω · mm^2 when anode voltage VA equals 0.9 and 3 V, respectively, the breakdown voltage reaches to 800 V and Toff is only 450 ns.展开更多
