Then we are concerned with general groups G;(ω) and G;(ω);named generalized transvection groups where ωis a k-th root of unity. By constructing quotient group and tensor, we calculate their invariant rings. In the end, we determine the properties of Cohen-Macaulay,Gorenstein, complete intersection, polynomial and Poincare series of these rings.展开更多

He has to pursue better coping skills for: cultural, communication and language, self-capability, stress management, and adjustment issues in the foreign settings. Premature return can be obviated through improved pre-departure training and post-arrival mentoring. US expatriates who are selected for foreign assignments in culturally distant and operationally different countries have an especially important need for their development and training. The challenge to adapt and become functional and fluent in the local surroundings in a very short time is very difficult for the expatriate. The expatriate's strange and difficult-to-fathom foreign environment causes him to be anxious as he works hard to adjust and be effective. The obstacles of dealing with the different business customs, social etiquette, and language differences make it difficult for communication, operating environments, and building professional relationships in an appropriate manner. He has to deal with the strangeness and unfamiliarity during the initial period after his arrival in the foreign country. This is further compounded by the pressing need for him to show good performance and produce results in his foreign assignment. He struggles to adjust and to perform the technical aspects of his task.展开更多

He/she has to quickly customize to the local needs his/her styles of strategic and operational decision-making, communication, and interpersonal approaches. His/her repertoire of leadership styles, arts, and skills has to be wider and richer in variety. He/she must quickly move from one host-country-focused approach to another, drawing the needed blend of leadership styles, arts, and skills from his/her repertoire and effectively applying them to the host country situation. Thus, a CEO must analyze his/her situation and re-orient his/her approach to fit the varying international situations, such as culture, operating, and subsidiary's organizational, economic, political, governmental, and technological. An effective CEO is perspicuous and quick of action in adjusting and modifying his/her roles, styles, arts, and leadership processes to fit the situation in which he/she is in at the moment.展开更多

A host country's societal and cultural factors, combined with local economic conditions and business practices, play major roles in determining the preferred business ethics and social responsibility in each foreign subsidiary. An MNC's global HQ should partner with all foreign subsidiaries to determine the global corporate business ethics, social responsibility core, general values, and objectives. Further, each foreign subsidiary should develop in partnership with the HQ, the customized details of its business ethics, social responsibility objectives, goals, strategies, and specific programs for its host country's environment.展开更多

MNCs must create the organizational culture and process for increased competitiveness to sustain better market shares and profits. Towards this end, MNCs should develop a comprehensive innovation strategy. Innovation is a way of life and the spirit of innovation, like the spirit of entrepreneurship, must be sustained. The goal should be continuous growth with competitiveness. And towards this purpose, organizations must innovate. The article draws from innovation concepts as they would lead to organizational growth and competitiveness. MNC international structure, culture, and leadership style have an influence on the innovation culture and creativity process in the MNC organization. The article sets forth a model for MNC decision-making structure and organizational culture for facilitating the innovative fervor and capability to be more favorable to the MNC. The models presented here are meaningful in the quest for greater MNC innovativeness and creativity.展开更多

Managing foreign subsidiary's competitiveness is vital for overall, long-term, and global organizational growth. Strategic global leadership, vision, and culture among the top managers of headquarters and foreign subsidiaries are vital for enabling the subsidiaries to pursue their vision of improved competitiveness. Sustained growth and improved competitiveness in the global organization's multiple country environments then become the means for an MNC's overall strategic enhancement.展开更多

Using auto-invariance, we find the automorphism groups of the Laurent extension of the polynomial ring and the quantum n-plane (respectively, twisting polynomial ring) in this work. As an application of the results of this work, we can find the automorphism group of a twisting algebra. We define a generalized Weyl algebra and show that the generalized Weyl algebra is simple. We also find the automorphism group of a generalized Weyl algebra. We show that the generalized Weyl algebra Am,m+n is the universal enveloping algebra of the generalized Witt algebra W(m,m + n).展开更多

These incipient soil zones can be interpreted as the direct result of warmer orwetter climatic episodes, or as the sedimentary result of changes in local loess deposition rate.High-resolution particle size analyses by laser diffraction support a sedimentary explanation forincipient soil zones in Illinois and Nebraska, U.S.A. The soil zones contain more fine silt and claythan loess above and below. This could have resulted from a temporary reduction in the localloess deposition rate, leading to a greater relative contribution of far-traveled dust that containedmore fine silt and clay.展开更多
