In the current practical science, the accuracy in the formability of metal alloys being the goal when using electromagnetic forming (EMF) technology, which is a high-speed processing technology that uses Lorentz force...In the current practical science, the accuracy in the formability of metal alloys being the goal when using electromagnetic forming (EMF) technology, which is a high-speed processing technology that uses Lorentz forces to achieve plastic deformation of sheet metal;according to the previous analysis, the results have shown that in most cases, the Lorentz force acting on the workpiece (metal) is not uniform, there are uneven axial deformations of the metal plates which prevent the rapid advancement of today’s technology. In this article, we presented some advanced analyzes which will lead us to improve the technical solution for the problems of non-uniform axial deformations of the metals in the traditional tube electromagnetic forming technology (EMF). A field shaper is used as a practical forming tool to influence the magnetic field and magnetic pressure distribution, thereby improving the forming ability and result during the electromagnetic forming (EMF) process and we see that induced eddy current control is realized by changing the structural parameters of the magnetic field shaper;which improves the strength and controllability of the magnetic force that acts on the workpiece;thereby a greater radial magnetic pressure can be achieved with field shaper than the case without it;the field shaper regulates the electromagnetic force, the distribution of the magnetic pressure decreases, and the uniform force area of the tube increases which effectively enhances the uniform range of the pipe electromagnetic bulging and the electromagnetic induction coupling between the coil and the metallic workpiece is generally required to produce the Lorentz forces. Using COMSOL Multiphysics® simulation software helped us to accurately represent the real world, simulating multiple physical effects that happened in this model during the process.展开更多

Unavailability of appropriate polypropylene non-woven fabrics face masks as a result of inadequate supply to satisfy the growing...The outbreak of coronavirus has led to an increase in the demand for facemasks globally. Unavailability of appropriate polypropylene non-woven fabrics face masks as a result of inadequate supply to satisfy the growing population has brought about the manufacturing of locally fabrics masks to augment or substitute standard medical class facemasks. The study aims at analyzing airflow of these locally manufactured fabrics to determine possible means of transmitting the virus as well as establish comfort of the user of these masks. Standard polypropylene non-woven, woven and knitted fabrics were considered for the study. Air permeability test was conducted on these fabrics using Frazier Air permeability tester. Depending on the property significant variation in the textile fabrics, polypropylene non-woven is widely accepted for facial masks. Nevertheless, this study illustrates that woven and knitted fabrics have more open structures, which allow a high rate of air penetration and so may require two or three layers to prevent antimicrobial or antiviral potential.展开更多

The research is based on a qualitative research approach that employs interviews a...This paper investigates the socio-cultural challenges of the small-scale batik and tie-dye production and retailing industry in Ghana. The research is based on a qualitative research approach that employs interviews and observation for data collection. In all, sixteen (16) participants were sampled through purposive techniques. Data collected were transcribed, classified and analysed through thematic and descriptive analysis. The study found that family roles contradict the business role, pressure from family members, poor support from society members, some religious teachings, age, ethnicity and lifestyle of certain people among others. The study concludes that socio-cultural challenges have led to the collapse of most batik and tie-dye production and retailing sectors leaving thousands of Ghanaians jobless. It recommends among others that producers and retailers of batik and tie-dye must separate family roles from work responsibilities to enable them to perform effectively. Again, family members, parents and peers must desist from putting pressure on the entrepreneurs for freebies and the government must resource NBSSI, GEPA and GSB to have regular in-service training to batik and tie-dye producers and retailers to address poor financial management and technical challenges and also on product quality on the international market.展开更多

Aluminum and aluminum alloy...The use of Crocin, derived from the flowers of Crocus sativus, is investigated as corrosion inhibitor for the AA1050, AA5083, AA5754 and AA6082 aluminum alloys in chloride ions environment. Aluminum and aluminum alloys are subjected to corrosion in the aggressive environment of chlorides, so several green corrosion inhibitors, mostly of plant origin, with minimum impact on health and the environment have been examined. In this study, the inhibition efficiency of 1.25 mM Crocin in a 0.01 M NaCl corrosive solution was assessed via electrochemical corrosion techniques and gravimetric mass loss measurements of the aluminum alloys. The surface of the specimens was examined using Scanning Electron Microscopy, Energy Dispersive Spectroscopy, Stereomicroscopy and Glossiness measurements. Experimental results reveal the protective anticorrosive action of Crocin for all aluminum alloys in the sodium chloride medium.展开更多
AIM:To describe the role of endoscopic transnasal canaliculorhinostomy(ETC)in refractory common canalicular obstruction(CCO)associated with an absent or unidentifiable lacrimal sac.METHODS:The records of patients with...AIM:To describe the role of endoscopic transnasal canaliculorhinostomy(ETC)in refractory common canalicular obstruction(CCO)associated with an absent or unidentifiable lacrimal sac.METHODS:The records of patients with refractory CCO who underwent ETC at the Eye Hospital of Wenzhou Medical University from October 2007 to December 2016 were retrospectively reviewed.RESULTS:Fifty-six patients(56 eyes)with refractory CCO were recruited into the study.Eight patients were excluded due to the presence of a residual lacrimal sac or failure to complete the follow-up duration.The anatomic and functional success rates were both 85.4%(41/48)at a mean follow-up of 18.6 mo.Five cases failed as a result of ostial synechia and two failed because of ostial obstruction by granulation.Postoperative complications included mild nasal bleeding in 5 cases,dried nasal feeling in 8 cases,and olfactory dysfunction in 4 cases.CONCLUSION:Although being surgically challenging,ETC has comparable findings to its external approach counterpart or conjunctivodacryocystorhinostomy(CDCR)with Jones tube.And it may prove to be a novel alternate surgical technique for patients with refractory CCO without identifiable lacrimal sac.展开更多
Diffusion models have recently emerged as powerful generative models,producing high-fidelity samples across domains.Despite this,they have two key challenges,including improving the time-consuming iterative generation...Diffusion models have recently emerged as powerful generative models,producing high-fidelity samples across domains.Despite this,they have two key challenges,including improving the time-consuming iterative generation process and controlling and steering the generation process.Existing surveys provide broad overviews of diffusion model advancements.However,they lack comprehensive coverage specifically centered on techniques for controllable generation.This survey seeks to address this gap by providing a comprehensive and coherent review on controllable generation in diffusion models.We provide a detailed taxonomy defining controlled generation for diffusion models.Controllable generation is categorized based on the formulation,methodologies,and evaluation metrics.By enumerating the range of methods researchers have developed for enhanced control,we aim to establish controllable diffusion generation as a distinct subfield warranting dedicated focus.With this survey,we contextualize recent results,provide the dedicated treatment of controllable diffusion model generation,and outline limitations and future directions.To demonstrate applicability,we highlight controllable diffusion techniques for major computer vision tasks application.By consolidating methods and applications for controllable diffusion models,we hope to catalyze further innovations in reliable and scalable controllable generation.展开更多
The amount of produced data required to be visualized and analyzed has grown year by year,and the traditional approach of using larger computational resources or exploiting task and data parallelism seems to have reac...The amount of produced data required to be visualized and analyzed has grown year by year,and the traditional approach of using larger computational resources or exploiting task and data parallelism seems to have reached its limit.Therefore,a new paradigm for large-scale data visualization becomes highly desired,and in this paper,we propose a new and optimized visualization pipeline which uses a point rendering-based early visibility testing for reducing the unnecessary rendering in the final stage of the visualization pipeline,and we named this technique“Early Visibility Test Point Rendering”.In a densely populated polygonal mesh scene,where multiple triangles may cover a single pixel,unnecessary and wasteful rendering will occur in the final stage of the traditional visualization pipeline,that is,during the rasterization process.Therefore,we propose an alternative visualization pipeline by introducing the“Early Visibility Test Point Rendering”for selecting only the visible polygonal elements for a given visualization scene.This visibility testing can be executed on the CPU side,and only the visible polygonal elements are needed to be sent to the GPU for an optimized rendering.We could verify the effectiveness of our proposed approach by using synthetic datasets,and also a real-world large-scale simulation result.展开更多
