In view of the effective perception demand of PD(Partial Discharge)insulation defect of in-service GIS(Gas Insulated Switchgear),the external UHF(Ultra High Frequency,0.3−3 GHz)sensing technology for GIS PD insulation defect fromresin hole is studied in this paper.Firstly,rectangular waveguide theory is used to analyze the electromagnetic wave propagation characteristics from rectangular resin hole in GIS disc insulator.It is found that the energy of leaked electromagnetic wave mainly concentrates in the frequency band above 1 GHz.Then based on this frequency band characteristics,a cavity-backed bowtie sensor for GIS PD external detection is designed optimized by HFSS finite element software,in band of 1–3 GHz,its maximum VSWR is 7,the minimum is 1.1,the average is 2.9,and in band of 0.3–1 GHz,the maximum and minimum VSWR is 42.8 and 7,the average is 20.6.Finally,a sensor prototype is made,its sensitivity experiment is carried out on 220 kV GIS,experimental results show that the designed sensor can stably detect the PD electromagnetic wave signal leaked fromthe resin hole,and the signal energy in frequency band range is consistent with the theoretical analysis results. 展开更多

In response to the problem of frequent leakage and false alarm of partial discharge insulation defects in GIS,this paper conducts experimental research on intermittent discharge characteristics of common solid insulation defects in GIS.Using true GIS to build amulti-source testing platform for intermittent discharge of solid insulation defects,and using pulse current method,ultra-high frequency method,ultrasonic method,and gas characteristic component detectionmethod to study the variation law of intermittent discharge characteristics of solid insulation defects.The results showthat:the intermittent discharge state of metal fouling defects on the solid insulation surface decreases with the extension of the discharge time,the discharge time interval as a whole shows an increasing trend,and the metal fouling defects on the solid insulation surface in the intermittent discharge state is difficult to develop into a breakdown discharge fault.The overall discharge amount of air gap defects inside solid insulation also shows the law of increasing first and then decreasing,and the discharge amount of air gap defects inside solid insulation stays at a large level for a long time during intermittent discharge,and there is a risk of breakdown,and the discharge will gradually evolve into continuous discharge;ultrasonic method and characteristic component detection method cannot realize the effective perception of intermittent discharge of metal fouling.The 50-period mapping information commonly used in the power field cannot reflect the intermittent discharge variation law of solid insulation,and the 200-period UHF mapping composed of four groups of 50-period UHF mapping data can initially derive the intermittent discharge distribution law of solid insulation defects.The research results of this paper are of great significance to expand the knowledge of intermittent discharge characteristics and the detection of GIS discharge defects in the field. 展开更多

The triangulation of red sprites was obtained, based on concurrent observations over a mesoscale convective system(MCS) in North China from two stations separated by about 450 km. In addition, broadband sferics from the sprite-producing lightning were measured at five ground stations, making it possible to locate and identify the individual causative lightning discharges for different elements in this dancing sprite event. The results of our analyses indicate that the sprites were produced above the trailing stratiform region of the MCS, and their parent strokes were located mainly in the peripheral area of the stratiform. The lateral offset between sprites and causative strokes ranges from a few km to more than 50 km. In a particularly bright sprite, with a distinct halo feature and streamers descending down to an altitude of approximately 48 km, the sprite current signal identified in the electric sferic, measured at a range of about 1,110 km, peaked at approximately 1 ms after the return stroke. 展开更多

In this paper,a series of LaMnO_(3+δ)(LMOs)were successfully prepared by adjusting the sintering temperature using the sol-gel method with ABO3-type LMO oxides as the object of study.The results showed that with the increase of sintering temperature,the O_(ads),oxygen vacancies,and Mn^(4+)content in the system gradually decreased,and the oxygen evolution reaction(OER)was subsequently weakened.Although the suitable Mn^(3+)/Mn^(4+)valence ratio(2.15:1)of the LMO700 sample created a strong ferromagnetic double-exchange effect,the high concentration of oxygen vacancies in LMO700 disturbed this effect and weakened its macro magnetism.This paper serves to contribute to the design and development of new magnetic perovskite electrocatalysts. 展开更多

Operation data show lightning faults account for>70%for the main ultra-high voltage(UHV)DC transmission channels,very different from the design view.In order to accurately master the lightning characteristics and the lightning protection performance of the line so as to propose solutions to weak points,this study firstly obtains and analyses the density and strength distributions of lightning risk source.Then the study proposes a set of risk assessment process where the key model electrogeometric model is improved according to the polarity effect of DC line.Then the work realises the calculation of the lightning shielding failure risk of single tower and whole line.The example shows the assessment result is consistent to the line's actual operation.Next,to further evaluate and predict the lightning risk in real time,the study adopts the backpropagation neural network algorithm to integrate the lightning detection data,atmospheric electric fields,and radar echoes to develop the early warning model of lightning risk source,and proposed a method to realise the early warning of lightning damage risk for UHV DC channels.The results show that the effective warning ratio is 73%and the failure-to-warn ratio is 27%which indicates very good application effects. 展开更多

Novel residual pollution layer model related to the arc propagation along the surface based on discretisation

A concentrated treatment used on the residual pollution layer in the Obennaus and its improved models is inappropriate for establishing the propagation model of an arc along the pollution layer surface. Therefore, discretising the residual pollution layer is innovatively proposed. The residual pollution layer is discretised into several infinitesimal pollution layer elements with various characteristics along the vertical direction from the arc root to the ground electrode. Quantitative relationships between the surface conductivity of a pollution layer element and several variables, including salt deposit density, water film thickness, temperature, and time, are concluded based on experimental data and relevant theories. A distribution factor that determines leakage current densities in a pollution layer is defined. A residual pollution layer surface resistance model based on the discretisation, relational ex-pressions, and distribution factor is established. A comparison of the proposed model with the results observed in the experiments with and without a partial arc shows that the pro-posed model is reasonable. 展开更多
