Two kinds of structural dynamic optimization formulations minimizing the vibration acceleration of the non-pressure hull on the restraining condition of the gross weight of the ship cabin were established: 1) dynamic optimization of the sectional dimensions of the rigid vibration isolation mass in the composite brace; 2) dynamic optimization of the arranging position of the rigid vibration isolation mass. Through the optimization results, sectional dimensions and the arranging position of the rigid vibration isolation mass with better performance in reducing vibration were gained, and some reference was provided for practical engineering designs as well as enrichment of the design method of a novel ship vibration-isolation brace.展开更多
An innovative metallic buffer consisting of series-connected hat-shaped entangled wire mesh damper(EWMD)and parallel springs are proposed in this work to enhance the reliability of engineering equipment.The impact res...An innovative metallic buffer consisting of series-connected hat-shaped entangled wire mesh damper(EWMD)and parallel springs are proposed in this work to enhance the reliability of engineering equipment.The impact response and the energy dissipation mechanism of hat-shaped EWMD under different quasi-static compression deformations(2-7 mm)and impact heights(100-200 mm)are investigated using experimental and numerical methods.The results demonstrate distinct stages in the quasi-static mechanical characteristics of hat-shaped EWMD,including stiffness softening,negative stiffness,and stiffness hardening.The loss factor gradually increases with increasing compression deformation before entering the stiffness hardening stage.Under impact loads,the hat-shaped EWMD exhibits optimal impact energy absorption when it enters the negative stiffness stage(150 mm),resulting in the best impact isolation effect of metallic buffer.However,the impact energy absorption significantly decreases when hat-shaped EWMD enters the stiffness hardening stage.Interestingly,quasi-static compression analysis after experiencing different impact loads reveals the disappearance of the negative stiffness phenomenon.Moreover,with increasing impact loads,the stiffness hardening point progressively shifts to an earlier stage.展开更多

In the present work,Fe–Mn–Al–C powder mixtures were manufactured by elemental powders with different ball milling time,and the porous high-Mn and high-Al steel was fabricated by powder sintering.The results indicat...In the present work,Fe–Mn–Al–C powder mixtures were manufactured by elemental powders with different ball milling time,and the porous high-Mn and high-Al steel was fabricated by powder sintering.The results indicated that the powder size significantly decreased,and the morphology of the Fe powder tended to be increasingly flat as the milling time increased.However,the prolonged milling duration had limited impact on the phase transition of the powder mixture.The main phases of all the samples sintered at 640℃ were α-Fe,α-Mn and Al,and a small amount of Fe2Al5 and Al8Mn5.When the sintering temperature increased to 1200℃,the phase composition was mainly comprised of γ-Fe and α-Fe.The weight loss fraction of the sintered sample decreased with milling time,i.e.,8.3wt% after 20 h milling compared to15.3wt% for 10 h.The Mn depletion region(MDR) for the 10,15,and 20 h milled samples was about 780,600,and 370 μm,respectively.The total porosity of samples sintered at 640℃ decreased from ~46.6vol% for the 10 h milled powder to ~44.2vol% for 20 h milled powder.After sintering at 1200℃,the total porosity of sintered samples prepared by 10 and 20 h milled powder was ~58.3vol% and ~51.3vol%,respectively.The compressive strength and ductility of the 1200℃ sintered porous steel increased as the milling time increased.展开更多
The comprehensive tire building and shaping processes are investigated through the finite element method(FEM)in this article.The mechanical properties of the uncured rubber from different tire components are investiga...The comprehensive tire building and shaping processes are investigated through the finite element method(FEM)in this article.The mechanical properties of the uncured rubber from different tire components are investigated through cyclic loading-unloading experiments under different strain rates.Based on the experiments,an elastoviscoplastic constitutive model is adopted to describe themechanical behaviors of the uncured rubber.The distinct mechanical properties,including the stress level,hysteresis and residual strain,of the uncured rubber can all be well characterized.The whole tire building process(including component winding,rubber bladder inflation,component stitching and carcass band folding-back)and the shaping process are simulated using this constitutive model.The simulated green tire profile is in good agreement with the actual profile obtained through 3D scanning.The deformation and stress of the rubber components and the cord reinforcements during production can be obtained fromthe FE simulation,which is helpful for judging the rationality of the tire construction design.Finally,the influence of the parameter“drum width”is investigated,and the simulated result is found to be consistent with the experimental observations,which verifies the effectiveness of the simulation.The established simulation strategy provides some guiding significance for the improvement of tire design parameters and the elimination of tire production defects.展开更多
Segmented thermoelectric generators(STEGs)can exhibit present superior performance than those of the conventional thermoelectric generators.Thermal and electrical contact resistances exist between the thermoelectric m...Segmented thermoelectric generators(STEGs)can exhibit present superior performance than those of the conventional thermoelectric generators.Thermal and electrical contact resistances exist between the thermoelectric material interfaces in each thermoelectric leg.This may significantly hinder performance improvement.In this study,a five-layer STEG with three pairs of thermoelectric(TE)materials was investigated considering the thermal and electrical contact resistances on the material contact surface.The STEG performance under different contact resistances with various combinations of TE materials were analyzed.The relationship between the material sequence and performance indicators under different contact resistances is established by machine learning.Based on the genetic algorithm,for each contact resistance combination,the optimal material sequences were identified by maximizing the electric power and energy conversion efficiency.To reveal the underlying mechanism that determines the heat-to-electrical performance,the total electrical resistance,output voltage,ZT value,and temperature distribution under each optimized scenario were analyzed.The STEG can augment the heat-to-electricity performance only at small contact resistances.A large contact resistance significantly reduces the performance.At an electrical contact resistance of RE=10^(-3) K⋅m^(2)⋅W^(-1) and thermal contact resistance of RT=10-8Ω⋅m^(2),the maximum electric power was reduced to 5.71 mW(90.86 mW without considering the contact resistance).And the maximum energy conversion efficiency is lowered to 2.54%(12.59%without considering the contact resistance).展开更多
In the process of deep-sea mining,the liquid-solid flows in the vertical transportation pipeline are very complex.In the present work,an in-house solver MPSDEM-SJTU based on the improved MPS and DEM is developed for t...In the process of deep-sea mining,the liquid-solid flows in the vertical transportation pipeline are very complex.In the present work,an in-house solver MPSDEM-SJTU based on the improved MPS and DEM is developed for the simulation of hydraulic conveying.Firstly,three examples including the multilayer cylinder collapse,the Poiseuille flow and two-phase dam-break are used to validate the precision of the DEM model,the pipe flow model and MPS-DEM coupling model,respectively.Then,the hydraulic conveying with coarse particles in a vertical pipe is simulated.The solid particle distribution is presented and investigated in detail.Finally,the coupling method is successfully applied for the simulation of the liquid-solid flows in a vertical pipe with rotating blades,which shows the stability of the solver under rotating boundary conditions.This fully Lagrangian model is expected to be a new approach for analyzing hydraulic conveying.展开更多

In this study, a finite-element a...Metamaterials have been receiving an increasing amount of interest in recent years. As a type of metamaterial, pentamode materials (PMs) approximate the elastic properties of liquids. In this study, a finite-element analysis was conducted to predict the mechanical properties of PM structures by altering the thin wall thicknesses and layer numbers to obtain an outstanding load-bearing capacity. It was found that as the thin wall thickness increased from 0.15 to 0.45 mm, the compressive modulus of the PM structures increased and the Poisson’s ratio decreased. As the layer number increased, the Poisson’s ratio of the PM structures increased rapidly and reaches a stable value ranging from 0.50 to 0.55. Simulation results of the stress distribution in the PM structures confirmed that stress concentrations exist at the junctions of the thin walls and weights. For validation, Ti–6Al–4V specimens were fabricated by selective laser melting (SLM), and the mechanical properties of these specimens (i.e., Poisson’s ratio and elastic modulus) were experimentally studied. Good consistency was achieved between the numerical and experimental results. This work is beneficial for the design and development of PM structures with simultaneous load-bearing capacity and pentamodal properties.展开更多

Two methods are selected to hold DRM to a vibrating steel beam, one is to attach DRM by the magnetic attractive force (called DRM beam) and the other by adhesive bonding (called AB-DRM beam). Different from the damping property of AB-DRM beam caused by shear deformation of damping material, the damping property of DRM beam is characterized by the sliding frictional loss together with the internal loss of damping material. The authors established a formulation to predict the damping characteristics of DRM beam, which was validated experimentally. It is found that rubber material loss factor β has a decisive influence on damping improvement of DRM beam versus AB-DRM beam. If β is smaller than the critical value around 0.8255, a valid range of vibratory amplitude always exists in which DRM beam can achieve better damping than AB-DRM beam; conversely, if β is bigger than the critical value, the valid range does not exist when slide occurs. Such results are used to determine the merits and limitations of DRM and develop design guidelines.展开更多
Underwater data collection is an importance part in the process of network monitoring,network management and intrusion detection.However,the limited-energy of nodes is a major challenge to collect underwater data.The ...Underwater data collection is an importance part in the process of network monitoring,network management and intrusion detection.However,the limited-energy of nodes is a major challenge to collect underwater data.The solution of this problem are not only in the hands of network topology but in the hands of path of autonomous underwater vehicle(AUV).With the problem in hand,an energy-efficient data collection scheme is designed for mobile underwater network.Especially,the data collection scheme is divided into two phases,i.e.,routing algorithm design for sensor nodes and path planing for AUV.With consideration of limited-energy and network robustness,Q-learning based dynamic routing algorithm is designed in the first phase to optimize the routing selection of nodes,through which a potential-game based optimal rigid graph method is proposed to balance the trade-off between the energy consumption and the network robustness.With the collected data,Q-learning based path planning strategy is proposed for AUV in the second phase to find the desired path to gather the data from data collector,then a mode-free tracking controller is developed to track the desired path accurately.Finally,the performance analysis and simulation results reveal that the proposed approach can guarantee energy-efficient and improve network stability.展开更多
It is well known that fan/compressor blade flutter stability increases with the increase of reduced frequency.Less well-known is that the least stable inter blade phase angle(IBPA)increases with the drop of reduced fr...It is well known that fan/compressor blade flutter stability increases with the increase of reduced frequency.Less well-known is that the least stable inter blade phase angle(IBPA)increases with the drop of reduced frequency.However,it is quite striking that little can be found in the open literature about the mechanism to the observations.In this paper,a numerical investigation is carried out to uncover the mechanism of the effect of reduced frequency on flutter stability and the least stable IBPA.The NASA rotor 67 has been used as the test vehicle with its first bending and torsion modes being considered.The time domain harmonic balance method together with the influence coefficient method is used to obtain the worksum-IBPA curves for all cases.It is found that:1)the deterioration of flutter stability with the decrease of reduced frequency is dictated by the dominant decrease of aerodamping due to a blade own vibration;2)the increase of the least stable IBPA with the decrease of reduced frequency arises largely from the increase of the least stable IBPA of the aerodamping from the nearest blade on a blade pressure side.展开更多
This study was conducted on the spatial distribution characteristics of surface tidal currents in the southwestern Taiwan Strait based on the quasi-harmonic analysis of current data obtained by two high frequency surf...This study was conducted on the spatial distribution characteristics of surface tidal currents in the southwestern Taiwan Strait based on the quasi-harmonic analysis of current data obtained by two high frequency surface wave radar(HFSWR) systems. The analysis shows that the tidal current pattern in the southwestern Taiwan Strait is primarily semi-diurnal and influenced significantly by shallow water constituents. The spatial distribution of tidal current ellipses of M2 is probably affected by the interaction between two different systems of tide wave, one from the northern mouth of Taiwan Strait and the other from the Bashi Channel. The directions of the major axes of M2 tidal current ellipses coincide roughly with the axis of the Taiwan Strait. The spatial distribution of the magnitudes of the probable maximum current velocity(PMCS) shows gradual increase of the velocity from northeast to southwest, which is in accordance with the spatial distribution of the measured maximum current velocity(MMCS). The directions of the residual currents are in accordance with the direction of the prevailing monsoon wind at the Taiwan Strait and the direction of the Taiwan warm current during summer. The bathymetry also shows a significant effect on the spatial distribution characteristics of tidal currents.展开更多

However, the autonomous navigation of USVs, especially the issue of obstacle avoidance in complicated marine environment, is still a fundamental problem. After studying the characteristics of the complicated marine environment, we propose a novel adaptive obstacle avoidance algorithm for USVs,based on the Sarsa on-policy reinforcement learning algorithm.The proposed algorithm is composed of local avoidance module and adaptive learning module, which are organized by the “divide and conquer” strategy-based architecture. The course angle compensation strategy is proposed to offset the disturbances from sea wind and currents. In the design of payoff value function of the learning strategy, the course deviation angle and its tendency are introduced into action rewards and penalty policies. The validity of the proposed algorithm is verified by comparative experiments of simulations and sea trials in three sea-state marine environments. The results show that the algorithm can enhance the autonomous navigation capacity of USVs in complicated marine environments.展开更多

The plate can be metallic or composite, and fluid loading is also considered in the research. The first order shear deformation theory is used to account for the transverse shear deformation. The motion of the equally spaced stiffeners is examined by considering their bending vibrations and torsional movements. Based on the periodic structure theory and the concepts of the equivalent dynamic flexibility of the plate, the generalized vibro-acoustic equation of the model is obtained by applying the Fourier transform method. The generalized model that can be solved numerically is validated by comparing model predictions with the existing results. Numerical calculations are performed to investigate the effects of the location of the excitation, the spacing of the stiffeners, the plate thickness, the strengthening form and the fiber orientation on the sound radiation characteristic of the orthogonaUy stiffened plate, and some practical conclusions are drawn from these parameter studies.展开更多

The absolute calibration of neutron yields has been achieved by a ...Neutron diagnostics, including flux and energy spectrum measurements, have been applied on the experimental advanced superconducting tokamak (EAST). The absolute calibration of neutron yields has been achieved by a calculation method using the Monte Carlo automatic modeling (MCAM) system and the Monte Carlo N-Particles (MCNP) code. Since the neutron yield is closely related with the ion density and temperature, it is a good measure of plasma performance, especially the wave heating effect. In ion cyclotron range of frequencies (ICRF) experiments, the increase in the ion temperature derived by the neutron yield indicates an effective plasma heating. Minority protons damp a large fraction of the total wave power, and then transfer part of the energy to deuterium by collisions. Neutron spectrum measurements also indicate that no tail is created by high energy deuterons during ICRF heating. However, the ion temperature derived by the neutron yield is consistent with the result by using a poloidal X-ray imaging crystal spectrometer (PXCS), showing a reliable transport calculation.展开更多

The operating condition points of the parallel ttu-bine-driven feed pumps were calculated by the Chebyshev curve fit method. A water level controller for the steam generator and a rotary speed controller for the turbine-driven feed pumps were also included in the model. The accuracy of the mathematical models and their controllers was verified by comparing their results with those from a simulator.展开更多

The analysis model of a complex structure was developed by combining statistical energy analysis and the finite element method. Based on the hybrid FE-SEA method, the vibro-acoustic response of a complex structure was solved. Then, the sound radiation of a cylindrical shell model influenced by blocking mass was calculated in mid/high frequency. The result shows that blocking mass has an obvious effect on impeding propagation. The study provides a theoretical and experimental basis for application of the blocking mass to structure-borne sound propagation control.展开更多

文摘In the present work,Fe–Mn–Al–C powder mixtures were manufactured by elemental powders with different ball milling time,and the porous high-Mn and high-Al steel was fabricated by powder sintering.The results indicated that the powder size significantly decreased,and the morphology of the Fe powder tended to be increasingly flat as the milling time increased.However,the prolonged milling duration had limited impact on the phase transition of the powder mixture.The main phases of all the samples sintered at 640℃ were α-Fe,α-Mn and Al,and a small amount of Fe2Al5 and Al8Mn5.When the sintering temperature increased to 1200℃,the phase composition was mainly comprised of γ-Fe and α-Fe.The weight loss fraction of the sintered sample decreased with milling time,i.e.,8.3wt% after 20 h milling compared to15.3wt% for 10 h.The Mn depletion region(MDR) for the 10,15,and 20 h milled samples was about 780,600,and 370 μm,respectively.The total porosity of samples sintered at 640℃ decreased from ~46.6vol% for the 10 h milled powder to ~44.2vol% for 20 h milled powder.After sintering at 1200℃,the total porosity of sintered samples prepared by 10 and 20 h milled powder was ~58.3vol% and ~51.3vol%,respectively.The compressive strength and ductility of the 1200℃ sintered porous steel increased as the milling time increased.

文摘The comprehensive tire building and shaping processes are investigated through the finite element method(FEM)in this article.The mechanical properties of the uncured rubber from different tire components are investigated through cyclic loading-unloading experiments under different strain rates.Based on the experiments,an elastoviscoplastic constitutive model is adopted to describe themechanical behaviors of the uncured rubber.The distinct mechanical properties,including the stress level,hysteresis and residual strain,of the uncured rubber can all be well characterized.The whole tire building process(including component winding,rubber bladder inflation,component stitching and carcass band folding-back)and the shaping process are simulated using this constitutive model.The simulated green tire profile is in good agreement with the actual profile obtained through 3D scanning.The deformation and stress of the rubber components and the cord reinforcements during production can be obtained fromthe FE simulation,which is helpful for judging the rationality of the tire construction design.Finally,the influence of the parameter“drum width”is investigated,and the simulated result is found to be consistent with the experimental observations,which verifies the effectiveness of the simulation.The established simulation strategy provides some guiding significance for the improvement of tire design parameters and the elimination of tire production defects.

文摘Segmented thermoelectric generators(STEGs)can exhibit present superior performance than those of the conventional thermoelectric generators.Thermal and electrical contact resistances exist between the thermoelectric material interfaces in each thermoelectric leg.This may significantly hinder performance improvement.In this study,a five-layer STEG with three pairs of thermoelectric(TE)materials was investigated considering the thermal and electrical contact resistances on the material contact surface.The STEG performance under different contact resistances with various combinations of TE materials were analyzed.The relationship between the material sequence and performance indicators under different contact resistances is established by machine learning.Based on the genetic algorithm,for each contact resistance combination,the optimal material sequences were identified by maximizing the electric power and energy conversion efficiency.To reveal the underlying mechanism that determines the heat-to-electrical performance,the total electrical resistance,output voltage,ZT value,and temperature distribution under each optimized scenario were analyzed.The STEG can augment the heat-to-electricity performance only at small contact resistances.A large contact resistance significantly reduces the performance.At an electrical contact resistance of RE=10^(-3) K⋅m^(2)⋅W^(-1) and thermal contact resistance of RT=10-8Ω⋅m^(2),the maximum electric power was reduced to 5.71 mW(90.86 mW without considering the contact resistance).And the maximum energy conversion efficiency is lowered to 2.54%(12.59%without considering the contact resistance).

文摘In the process of deep-sea mining,the liquid-solid flows in the vertical transportation pipeline are very complex.In the present work,an in-house solver MPSDEM-SJTU based on the improved MPS and DEM is developed for the simulation of hydraulic conveying.Firstly,three examples including the multilayer cylinder collapse,the Poiseuille flow and two-phase dam-break are used to validate the precision of the DEM model,the pipe flow model and MPS-DEM coupling model,respectively.Then,the hydraulic conveying with coarse particles in a vertical pipe is simulated.The solid particle distribution is presented and investigated in detail.Finally,the coupling method is successfully applied for the simulation of the liquid-solid flows in a vertical pipe with rotating blades,which shows the stability of the solver under rotating boundary conditions.This fully Lagrangian model is expected to be a new approach for analyzing hydraulic conveying.
文摘Metamaterials have been receiving an increasing amount of interest in recent years. As a type of metamaterial, pentamode materials (PMs) approximate the elastic properties of liquids. In this study, a finite-element analysis was conducted to predict the mechanical properties of PM structures by altering the thin wall thicknesses and layer numbers to obtain an outstanding load-bearing capacity. It was found that as the thin wall thickness increased from 0.15 to 0.45 mm, the compressive modulus of the PM structures increased and the Poisson’s ratio decreased. As the layer number increased, the Poisson’s ratio of the PM structures increased rapidly and reaches a stable value ranging from 0.50 to 0.55. Simulation results of the stress distribution in the PM structures confirmed that stress concentrations exist at the junctions of the thin walls and weights. For validation, Ti–6Al–4V specimens were fabricated by selective laser melting (SLM), and the mechanical properties of these specimens (i.e., Poisson’s ratio and elastic modulus) were experimentally studied. Good consistency was achieved between the numerical and experimental results. This work is beneficial for the design and development of PM structures with simultaneous load-bearing capacity and pentamodal properties.
文摘This paper presents an improved unstructured grid immersed boundary method.The advantages of both immersed boundary method and body fitted grids which are generated by unstructured grid technology are used to enhance the computation efficiency of fluid structure interaction in complex domain.The Navier-Stokes equation was discretized spacially with collocated finite volume method and Euler implicit method in time domain.The rigid body motion was simulated by immersed boundary method in which the fluid and rigid body interface interaction was dealt with VOS(volume of solid) method.A new VOS calculation method based on graph was presented in which both immersed boundary points and cross points were collected in arbitrary order to form a graph.The method is verified with flow past oscillating cylinder.

文摘A cantilever beam with Damping Material Applying Rubber Magnetic Powder (DRM) has been investigated. Two methods are selected to hold DRM to a vibrating steel beam, one is to attach DRM by the magnetic attractive force (called DRM beam) and the other by adhesive bonding (called AB-DRM beam). Different from the damping property of AB-DRM beam caused by shear deformation of damping material, the damping property of DRM beam is characterized by the sliding frictional loss together with the internal loss of damping material. The authors established a formulation to predict the damping characteristics of DRM beam, which was validated experimentally. It is found that rubber material loss factor β has a decisive influence on damping improvement of DRM beam versus AB-DRM beam. If β is smaller than the critical value around 0.8255, a valid range of vibratory amplitude always exists in which DRM beam can achieve better damping than AB-DRM beam; conversely, if β is bigger than the critical value, the valid range does not exist when slide occurs. Such results are used to determine the merits and limitations of DRM and develop design guidelines.

文摘Underwater data collection is an importance part in the process of network monitoring,network management and intrusion detection.However,the limited-energy of nodes is a major challenge to collect underwater data.The solution of this problem are not only in the hands of network topology but in the hands of path of autonomous underwater vehicle(AUV).With the problem in hand,an energy-efficient data collection scheme is designed for mobile underwater network.Especially,the data collection scheme is divided into two phases,i.e.,routing algorithm design for sensor nodes and path planing for AUV.With consideration of limited-energy and network robustness,Q-learning based dynamic routing algorithm is designed in the first phase to optimize the routing selection of nodes,through which a potential-game based optimal rigid graph method is proposed to balance the trade-off between the energy consumption and the network robustness.With the collected data,Q-learning based path planning strategy is proposed for AUV in the second phase to find the desired path to gather the data from data collector,then a mode-free tracking controller is developed to track the desired path accurately.Finally,the performance analysis and simulation results reveal that the proposed approach can guarantee energy-efficient and improve network stability.

文摘It is well known that fan/compressor blade flutter stability increases with the increase of reduced frequency.Less well-known is that the least stable inter blade phase angle(IBPA)increases with the drop of reduced frequency.However,it is quite striking that little can be found in the open literature about the mechanism to the observations.In this paper,a numerical investigation is carried out to uncover the mechanism of the effect of reduced frequency on flutter stability and the least stable IBPA.The NASA rotor 67 has been used as the test vehicle with its first bending and torsion modes being considered.The time domain harmonic balance method together with the influence coefficient method is used to obtain the worksum-IBPA curves for all cases.It is found that:1)the deterioration of flutter stability with the decrease of reduced frequency is dictated by the dominant decrease of aerodamping due to a blade own vibration;2)the increase of the least stable IBPA with the decrease of reduced frequency arises largely from the increase of the least stable IBPA of the aerodamping from the nearest blade on a blade pressure side.

文摘This study was conducted on the spatial distribution characteristics of surface tidal currents in the southwestern Taiwan Strait based on the quasi-harmonic analysis of current data obtained by two high frequency surface wave radar(HFSWR) systems. The analysis shows that the tidal current pattern in the southwestern Taiwan Strait is primarily semi-diurnal and influenced significantly by shallow water constituents. The spatial distribution of tidal current ellipses of M2 is probably affected by the interaction between two different systems of tide wave, one from the northern mouth of Taiwan Strait and the other from the Bashi Channel. The directions of the major axes of M2 tidal current ellipses coincide roughly with the axis of the Taiwan Strait. The spatial distribution of the magnitudes of the probable maximum current velocity(PMCS) shows gradual increase of the velocity from northeast to southwest, which is in accordance with the spatial distribution of the measured maximum current velocity(MMCS). The directions of the residual currents are in accordance with the direction of the prevailing monsoon wind at the Taiwan Strait and the direction of the Taiwan warm current during summer. The bathymetry also shows a significant effect on the spatial distribution characteristics of tidal currents.
文摘Unmanned surface vehicles(USVs) are important autonomous marine robots that have been studied and gradually applied into practice. However, the autonomous navigation of USVs, especially the issue of obstacle avoidance in complicated marine environment, is still a fundamental problem. After studying the characteristics of the complicated marine environment, we propose a novel adaptive obstacle avoidance algorithm for USVs,based on the Sarsa on-policy reinforcement learning algorithm.The proposed algorithm is composed of local avoidance module and adaptive learning module, which are organized by the “divide and conquer” strategy-based architecture. The course angle compensation strategy is proposed to offset the disturbances from sea wind and currents. In the design of payoff value function of the learning strategy, the course deviation angle and its tendency are introduced into action rewards and penalty policies. The validity of the proposed algorithm is verified by comparative experiments of simulations and sea trials in three sea-state marine environments. The results show that the algorithm can enhance the autonomous navigation capacity of USVs in complicated marine environments.

文摘A general theoretical model is developed to investigate the sound radiation from an infinite orthogonally stiffened plate under point excitation force. The plate can be metallic or composite, and fluid loading is also considered in the research. The first order shear deformation theory is used to account for the transverse shear deformation. The motion of the equally spaced stiffeners is examined by considering their bending vibrations and torsional movements. Based on the periodic structure theory and the concepts of the equivalent dynamic flexibility of the plate, the generalized vibro-acoustic equation of the model is obtained by applying the Fourier transform method. The generalized model that can be solved numerically is validated by comparing model predictions with the existing results. Numerical calculations are performed to investigate the effects of the location of the excitation, the spacing of the stiffeners, the plate thickness, the strengthening form and the fiber orientation on the sound radiation characteristic of the orthogonaUy stiffened plate, and some practical conclusions are drawn from these parameter studies.

文摘Based on the principle of impedance mismatching,the performance of rigid vibration isolation mass in impeding vibration wave propagation was discussed from the perspective of wave approach.Based on FEM,the influence of its weight as well as the cross-section shape parameters on the isolation performance of rigid vibration isolation mass was studied through numerical simulation.The results show that rigid vibration isolation mass can effectively impede the propagation of the medium and high frequency vibration waves,and the heavier the vibration isolation mass,the better the isolation performance.For low frequency waves,the vibration isolation effect is not so obvious;for a rectangular vibration isolation mass,the isolation performance could be effectively improved by increasing the cross-section height and reducing the cross-section width.A useful reference was provided for the application of rigid vibration isolation masses to the vibration isolation and noise reduction of ship structure.

文摘Neutron diagnostics, including flux and energy spectrum measurements, have been applied on the experimental advanced superconducting tokamak (EAST). The absolute calibration of neutron yields has been achieved by a calculation method using the Monte Carlo automatic modeling (MCAM) system and the Monte Carlo N-Particles (MCNP) code. Since the neutron yield is closely related with the ion density and temperature, it is a good measure of plasma performance, especially the wave heating effect. In ion cyclotron range of frequencies (ICRF) experiments, the increase in the ion temperature derived by the neutron yield indicates an effective plasma heating. Minority protons damp a large fraction of the total wave power, and then transfer part of the energy to deuterium by collisions. Neutron spectrum measurements also indicate that no tail is created by high energy deuterons during ICRF heating. However, the ion temperature derived by the neutron yield is consistent with the result by using a poloidal X-ray imaging crystal spectrometer (PXCS), showing a reliable transport calculation.
文摘Parallel turbine-driven feedwater pumps are needed when ships travel at high speed. In order to study marine steam generator feedwater control systems which use parallel turbine-driven feed pumps, a mathematical model of marine steam generator feedwater control system was developed which includes mathematical models of two steam generators and parallel turbine-driven feed pumps as well as mathematical models of feedwater pipes and feed regulating valves. The operating condition points of the parallel ttu-bine-driven feed pumps were calculated by the Chebyshev curve fit method. A water level controller for the steam generator and a rotary speed controller for the turbine-driven feed pumps were also included in the model. The accuracy of the mathematical models and their controllers was verified by comparing their results with those from a simulator.

文摘Based on wave theory, blocking mass impeding propagation of flexural waves was analyzed with force excitation applied on a ship pedestal. The analysis model of a complex structure was developed by combining statistical energy analysis and the finite element method. Based on the hybrid FE-SEA method, the vibro-acoustic response of a complex structure was solved. Then, the sound radiation of a cylindrical shell model influenced by blocking mass was calculated in mid/high frequency. The result shows that blocking mass has an obvious effect on impeding propagation. The study provides a theoretical and experimental basis for application of the blocking mass to structure-borne sound propagation control.

文摘To deal with the low location accuracy issue of existing underwater navigation technologies in autonomous underwater vehicles(AUVs),a distributed fusion algorithm which combines the model's analysis method with a multi-scale transformation method is proposed for integrated navigation system based on AUV.First,integrated navigation system theory and system error sources are introduced in details.Secondly,a navigation system's observation equation on the original scale is decomposed into different scales by the discrete wavelet transform method,and noise reduction is performed by setting the wavelet de-noising threshold.At last,the dynamic equation and observation equations are fused on different scales by the wavelet transformation and Kalman filter.The results show that the proposed algorithm has smaller navigation error and higher navigation accuracy.
