Simultaneous removal of NO and SO_2 from dry gas stream using non-thermal plasma

In order to investigate the feasibility of sequential removal NO and SO2 using non-thermal plasma and adsorbent simultaneously, the removal of NO and SO2 from dry gas stream （NO/SO2/N2/O2） with very little O2 using non-thermal plasma was investigated using a coaxial dielectric barrier discharge. Comparative experiments were carried out in the dry gas stream with and without Ar respectively at O2 concentration of 0.1%. The results showed that NO could be removed remarkably and it would be enhanced in the presence of Ar in the dry gas stream. It seems that SO2 could not be removed unless there is Ar in the dry gas stream. The mechanism of removal of NO and SO2 in the dry gas stream was discussed.

Global Exponential Projective Synchronization and Lag Synchronization of Hyperchaotic Lü System

This paper investigates the projective synchronization and lag synchronization of a new hyperchaotic system[Physica A 364(2006)103].On the basis of Lyapunov stability theory,two novel nonlinear controllers are respectivelydesigned to guarantee the global exponential projective synchronization(including complete synchronization and anti-synchronization)and lag synchronization.Finally,numerical simulations are given to show the effectiveness of the mainresults.

Effects of lanthanum on properties of cathode materials and ion implanted spinning rings

The effects of rare earth elements on the structure of cathode materials composed of WC, 663Cu and Ti as well as the performances of spinning rings implanted with this cathode materials were investigated. The results show that rare earth elements can improve the microstructure and compactness of the cathode materials, and elevate the wear resistance and corrosion resistance of spinning rings implanted with these materials. Consequently, the yarn quality is improved significantly.

THE DYADIC DERIVATIVE AND CESRO MEAN OF BANACH-VALUED MARTINGALES

In this article, the Banach space X and the martingales with values in it are considered. It is shown that the maximal operators of the one-dimensional dyadic derivative of the dyadic integral and Cesaro means are bounded from the dyadic Hardy- Lorentz space pH^-ra（X） to Lra（X） when X is isomorphic to a p-uniformly smooth space （1 〈p ≤ 2）. And it is also bounded from Hra（X） to Lra（X） （0 〈 r 〈 ∞,0 〈 a≤oc） when X has Radon-Nikodym property. In addition, some weak-type inequalities are given.

In Vivo Histocompatibility Evaluation of Polyurethane Membrane Modified by Superfine Silk-fibroin Powder

In this study, a novel polyurethane membrane, modified by superfine silk-fibroin powder, was prepared for small-diameter vascular grafting. Scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, and histological examination were applied to evaluate histocompatibility of this polyurethane membrane. The polyurethane membrane was compared with polytetrafluoroethylene material. A pseudomembrane and gap formed between polytetrafluoroethylene and the surrounding tissues, and no cells infiltrated or grew into the polytetrafluoroethylene material. On the contrary, superfine silk-fibroin powder/polyurethane blend membrane merged tightly with the surrounding tissues without gaps, and cells infiltrated and grew into the material. Moreover, the negative effects of superfine silk-fibroin powder/polyurethane blend membrane on cells were less than those of its polytetrafluoroethylene counterpart. Our findings indicated that the superfine silk-fibroin powder/polyurethane blend membrane has better histocompatibility than polytetrafluoroethylene membrane. It is concluded that the superfine silk-fibroin powder/polyurethane blend membrane is a promising biomaterial for small-diameter prosthesis.

Longitudinal Mechanical Properties of Small-Diameter Polyurethane Vascular Graft Reinforced by Tubular Knitted Fabric

The vascular graft with 4 mm diameter was prepared by casting one layer of polyurethane (PU) film onto the knitting tubular fabric as the reinforced support. The effects of different PU content and wall thickness on the longitudinal mechanical properties of vascular graft were investigated. The breaking elongation, breaking force, initial modulus and breaking work were studied. The results showed that the longitudinal mechanical properties of vascular graft were enhanced as the content of polyurethane increased, which resulted from the combination of PU excellent elasticity and fabric preferable strength.

A mechanistic study of flame retardance of novel copolyester phosphorus containing linked pendant groups by TG/XPS/direct Py-MS

The flame retardant mechanism of the copolyester phosphorus containing linked pendant groups was investigated by thermogravimetric （TG）, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy （XPS） and direct insertion probe pyrolysis mass spectrometry （DP-MS） technique. TG results show that the incorporation of phosphorus containing unit linked pendant groups can destabilize the copolyester due to the cleavage of P-CH2 bond, and phosphorus containing units cannot promote the char-formation of the copolyester during the thermal degradation of the copolyester. XPS spectra indicate that with the increase of the temperature, the P-CH2 bonds of the copolyester break down gradually, the concentration of phosphorus in the condensed phase products decrease gradually and the chemical state of phosphorus does not change in the temperature of 250-380 ℃. Direct pyrolysis MS suggests that the P-CH2 bonds cleavage occurs at pendant groups and species containing phosphorus can volatilize into the gas phase. A flame retardant mechanism is proposed for the gas phase mode of action of the halogen-free copolyester phosphorus containing linked pendant groups.

EQUIDISTRIBUTION OF CLOSED ORBITS OF BILLIARD FLOWS ON THE PLANE

The authors consider the billiard system with finitely many convex scatters with smooth boundary satisfying the visibility assumption on the plane and prove that the closed orbits for the billiard flow is uniformly distributed.

A Structure-properties Study of MDI-based Hydrophilic Polyether-polyester Polyurethane

A series of segmented polyether-polyester polyurethane with amorphous hydrophilic soft segment domains were prepared from 4,4'- diphenylmethane diisocyanate (MDI), polybutylene adipate (Glycol) 2000 (PBA2000), and polyethylene glycol 1000 (PEG1000), with 1,4-butanediol (BDO) as the chain extender. Furthermore, several representative properties of the polyurethanes, such as moisture permeability, water resistance, hydrophilic property, and phase inversion temperature, were investigated. The studies show that the structure and concentration of soft segment have a remarkable effect on the main application properties of polyurethane. On the contrary, the functional properties of the polyurethane are almost not affected by its hard segment.

SOLUTIONS OF EULER-POISSON EQUATIONS IN R^n

In this article, the authors study the structure of the solutions for the EuierPoisson equations in a bounded domain of Rn with the given angular velocity and n is an odd number. For a ball domain and a constant angular velocity, both existence and nonexistence theorem are obtained depending on the adiabatic gas constant 7. In addition, they obtain the monotonicity of the radius of the star with both angular velocity and center density. They also prove that the radius of a rotating spherically symmetric star, with given constant angular velocity and constant entropy, is uniformly bounded independent of the central density. This is different to the case of the non-rotating star.

Strategic thinking on improving the environmental competitiveness of Chinese enterprises

Environmental competitiveness, price competitiveness and non-price competitiveness make up the undivided vital part of product’s competitiveness. Environmental competitiveness can not only help improve the enterprise’s key competitiveness directly, but also strengthen it indirectly by improving the products’ price competitiveness and non-price competitiveness effectively. Instead of being confined to the product itself, there are several elements that can determine and influence the product’s environmental competitiveness, including the manufacturing process, the management of enterprises, the life circle of the products, etc. Measuring these elements by setting “environmental suitable degree”, and building up the echelon model to evaluate the environmental competitiveness can help us see about the standard of the enterprises’ environmental competitiveness. Though many of the national enterprises have price competitiveness to some extend, restricted by all kinds of elements like systems, techniques, policy, the enterprises are weak in environmental competitiveness. Beginning with systems redesign, carrying out the sustainable development, strengthening inner enter- prises management, making more efforts on technique innovation, and widely publicizing and teaching the ecological concept, Chinese national enterprises can improve their environmental competitiveness and improve their key competitiveness.

Calculation of carbon content of austenite during heat treatment of cast irons

The austenitizing temperature controls the carbon content of the austenite which,in turn,influences the structure and properties of cast irons after subsequent cooling to room temperature.In this paper,for a cast iron with known silicon content,a formula of calculating austenite carbon content at a certain austenitizing temperature was developed.This relationship can be used to more accurately select carbon content of austenite or austenitizing temperature to produce desired properties after subsequent cooling to room temperature.

Extraction of Metals from Boiler Slag by Sintering

A new method of recycling aluminum and iron in boiler slag derived from plants that use coal as fuel was presented. The new method can integrate efficient extraction and reuse of the leached pellets together. An elemental analysis of aqueous solutions leached by sulfuric acid was conducted by the EDTA-Na2-ZnCl2 titration method, and the components and microstructures of the samples were examined by means of XRF, XRD and SEM. An aluminum extraction efficiency of 86.50% was achieved when the sintered pellets were leached using 4 mol·L-1 H2SO4 with solid/liquid ratio（m/V） of 1∶5 at 80 ℃ for 24 h. An iron extraction efficiency of 94.60% was achieved under the same condition for the maximum extraction efficiency of Al. The extraction efficiency of Al and Fe increased with temperature, leaching time and acidity. The concentration of alumina and iron hydroxide in the final product was determined to be 99.12% and 92.20% respectively. This product of alumina would be used directly for the production of metallic aluminum.

Enhanced optical nonlinear absorption of graded Au-TiO_2 composite films

This paper reports that single-layer and graded Au-TiO2 granular composite films with Au atom content 15%- 66% were prepared by using reactive co-sputtering technique. The third-order optical nonlinearity of single-layer and graded composite films was investigated by using s- and p-polarized Z-scans in femtosecond time scale. The nonlinear absorption coefficient βeff of single-layer Au-TiO2 films is measured to be -2.3×10^3-0.76×10^3 cm/GW with Au atom content 15%-66%. The βeff value of the 10-layer Au-TiO2 graded film is enhanced to be -2.1×10^4cm/GW calculated from p-polarized Z-scans, which is about ten times the maximum βeff of single-layer films. Broadened response in the wavelength region 730-860 nm of the enhanced optical nonlinearity of graded Au-TiO2 composite films was also investigated.

The Logic Description of the System of Embedded Hardware Logic Task

A new task mode, hardware logic task mode, is presented. Its architecture, schedule and implementation are described with HDI.（ Hardware Description Language ）, and the validity of the system has been proved by logic simulation. It has advantage for real-time applications and overheadsaving for operating .system, so it is profitable for the controller in the embedded system. The relationship among RTOS （Real-Time Operating System）, SoC（System on Chip）, VIA （Virtual Interface Architecture） and hardware logic task is also discussed in the paper.

SIMPLE AND EFFICIENT SPACE-TIME CHANNEL AND DOA ESTIMATION TECHNIQUES IN TD-SCDMA SYSTEMS

In this paper, a simple method is presented for multi-user space-time channel estimation in Time Division-Synchronized Code Division Multiple Access (TD-SCDMA) systems. The method is based on a spe- cific midamble assignment strategy, which results in a cyclic Toeplitz midamble-matrix in the linear equation of the received data vectors. A Fast Fourier Transform (FFT)-based algorithm is used to obtain the estimate of the uplink multi-user space-time channels. Furthermore, the estimated space-time channel is applied to the identification of multi-paths for each user, and Direction Of Arrival (DOA) estimation for each path is carried out by using the extracted spatial signature vector. Aside from the simplicity in computation, the proposed di- rection of arrival estimation method can effectively resolve multi-paths regardless of the correlation and angle separations of the multi-paths.

Effects of average degree of network on an order-disorder transition in opinion dynamics

We have investigated the influence of the average degree （k） of network on the location of an order-disorder transition in opinion dynamics. For this purpose, a variant of majority rule （VMR） model is applied to Watts-Strogatz （WS） small-world networks and Barabasi-Albert （BA） scale-free networks which may describe some non-trivial properties of social systems. Using Monte Carlo simulations, we find that the order-disorder transition point of the VMR model is greatly affected by the average degree （k） of the networks; a larger value of （k） results in a more ordered state of the system. Comparing WS networks with BA networks, we find WS networks have better orderliness than BA networks when the average degree （k） is small. With the increase of （k）, BA networks have a more ordered state. By implementing finite-size scaling analysis, we also obtain critical exponents β/v, γ/u and 1/v for several values of average degree （k）. Our results may be helpful to understand structural effects on order-disorder phase transition in the context of the majority rule model.
