Analyzing the mass of behind-armor debris (BAD) generated by Rolled Homogeneous Armor (RHA) subjected to normal penetration of variable cross-section Explosively Formed Projectile (EFP) is the purpose of this paper. So theoretical analysis, numerical simulation and experimental data are combined to analyze the influence of variable cross-section characteristic on the time history of crater radius. Moreover the relationships between time history of crater radius (as well as mass of BAD) and the thickness of RHA (from 30mm to 70 mm) and the impact velocity of EFP (1650 m/s to 1860 m/s) are also investigated. The results indicate that: 1) being compared to the variable cross-section characteristic is ignored, the theoretical time history of crater radius is in better agreement with the simulation results when the variable cross-section characteristic is considered;2) being compared to the other three conditions of plug, the theoretical mass of BAD is in the best agreement with the simulation results when the shape of plug is frustum of a cone and the angle between generatrix and bottom is 45- and the axial length of mushroom is considered. 展开更多

Shock initiation performance of NTO-based polymer bonded explosive

To study the shock initiation process of NTO-based polymer bonded explosive JEOL-1(32%octahydro-1,3,5,7-tetranitro-1,3,5,7-tetrazocine(HMX), 32% NTO, 28% Al and 8% binder system), the cylinder test, the gap experiments and numerical simulation were carried out. Firstly, we got the detonation velocity(7746 m/s) and the parameters of Jones-Wilkins-Lee(JWL) equation of state(EOS) for detonation product by cylinder test and numerical simulation. Secondly, the Hugoniot curve of unreacted explosive for JEOL-1 was obtained calculating the data of pressure and time at different Lagrangian positions. Then the JWL EOS of unreacted explosive was obtained by utilizing the Hugoniot curve as the reference curve. Finally, we got the pressure growth history of JEOL-1 under shock wave stimulation and the parameters of the ignition and growth reaction rate equation were obtained by the pressure-time curves measured by the shockinitiation gap experiment and numerical simulation. The determined trinomial ignition and growth model(IG model) parameters can be applied to subsequently simulation analysis and design of insensitive ammunition with NTO-based polymer bonded explosive. 展开更多

A kind of beam-scanning algorithm of variable polarization millimeter array antenna based on the phased array technology is put forward in this paper.The algorithm can be successfully applied to deal with beam directivities inconsistency of millimeter wave/infrared(MMW/IR) multimode detector,it can keep electric axis and optical axis coincident.Accordingly,this method can decrease the data fusion difficulty and improve the accuracy of angle measurement.Simulation results show that variable polarization millimeter array antenna has flexible beam-scanning abibility within ±0.5° after the algorithm was adopted,simultaneously,antenna polarization purity is better than 20 dB within the half power beamwidth,sidelobe imbalance keeps high available and antenna gain of the sum beam is over 26.8 dB. 展开更多

Influence of Friction Interface Contact on Ultrasonic Motor Efficiency Under Static Conditions

The friction interface matching plays a deterministic role in the motor efficiency,and the microcosmic contact status of friction interface should be investigated to improve the ultrasonic motor performance.The main purpose is to improve the effective output power of ultrasonic motor.Hence,one studies the contact condition of the friction interface of the ultrasonic motor,analyzes the micro condition of contact interface through finite element analysis,optimizes unreasonable structures,and compares the two different-structure ultrasonic motors through experiments.The results reflect the necessity of optimization.After optimization,the stator and rotor deform after pre-pressure and the contact interface of them full contact theoretically.When reaching heat balance the effective output of the motor is 37%,and the average effective output efficiency is 2.384 times higher than that of the unoptimized.It can be seen that the total consumption of the ultrasonic motor system decreases significantly.Therefore,when using in certain system the consumption taken from the system will decreases largely,especially in the system with a strict consumption control. 展开更多

Comprehensive Summary Branched fluorine/adamantane PBO precursor(preFABPBO),synthesized via random co-condensation between 2,2-bis(3-amino-4-hydroxyphenyl)hexafluoro propane,1,3-adamantanedicarbonyl dichloride,and trimesoyl chloride,is performed as interfacial compatibilizer,bisphenol A dicyanate ester(BADCy)resin as polymer matrix,and poly(p-phenylene-2,6-benzobisoxazole)(PBO)fibers as reinforcements to prepare PBO fibers/FABPBO-BADCy wave-transparent laminated composites by high temperature molding.The mechanical properties,wave-transparent performances,and heat resistances of PBO fibers/BADCy composites are simultaneously improved by the addition of preFABPBO.The interlaminar shear strength(ILSS)and flexural strength of PBO fibers/FABPBO-BADCy composites are 48.9 and 665.3 MPa,respectively,increased by 33.2%and 13.3%compared to those of PBO fibers/BADCy composites(36.7 and 587.4 MPa).The dielectric constant and dielectric loss values at 106 Hz are 2.53 and 0.003,respectively,lower than those of PBO fibers/BADCy composites(3.06 and 0.006),and the corresponding wave transmission efficiency is 94.8%,which also presents excellent stability over the wide temperature(25-200℃)and frequency range(103-107 Hz and 8.2-12.4 GHz).Meanwhile,the heat resistance index and glass transition temperature are 229.9℃and 247.5℃,also better than those of PBO fibers/BADCy composites(229.6℃and 247.1℃). 展开更多

Information freshness is a key factor for Internet-of-Things(IoT)to make appropriate decisions and operations.This paper proposes an analytical framework for evaluating the timeliness performance of the IoT system based on Unmanned Aerial Vehicle(UAV)lossy communications.The performance analysis consists of the outage probability analysis and the Age-of-Information(AoI)analysis with outages.To begin with,we solve a lossy coding problem formulated from the UAV communication system,and derive a closed-form expression of the outage probability based on Shannon's lossy source-channel separation theorem.Then,we characterize the Peak AoI(PAoI)for the considered system,and further minimize the PAoI by deriving the optimal rate for generating information.Moreover,we analyze the system performance through theoretical calculations and simulations.The results indicate that the optimal server utilization ratio is always no larger than 0.5.In practical applications,we can utilize the proposed analytical framework to determine the system parameters which guarantee the timeliness performance of UAV lossy communications. 展开更多

Installing winglets can notably improve the aerodynamic performance of solar aircraft.This paper proposes a multi-constraints optimization method of winglets for solar aircraft,aiming to enhance the corresponding uninterrupted cruising capability.An optimization objective function is formed and is separately studied in aerodynamic and structural terms.Qualitative analysis shows that the winglet design parameters are restricted by four special constraints(geometry,aerodynamics,energy and stability)of solar aircraft.The optimization process is constructed on the basis of a multi-island genetic algorithm,and carried out for a 15 m wingspan solar aircraft.Although the designed winglet is not as good as the traditional winglet in terms of drag and structural weight,the designed winglet provides a better 24 h cruising capability.The sensitivity between the objective function and the design parameters is investigated,and the winglet effects vary with respect to the wing aspect ratio(AR=10,15,19.6).The effect of the constraints is analysed quantitatively,and some basic laws are obtained.Moreover,the feasible design region and the possible optimal design parameters of winglets for different wing configurations are explored.The calculation results show that when the aspect ratio exceeds a certain value,the winglets will not benefit the aircraft. 展开更多
