Gated Neural Network-Based Unsteady Aerodynamic Modeling for Large Angles of Attack

Modeling of unsteady aerodynamic loads at high angles of attack using a small amount of experimental or simulation data to construct predictive models for unknown states can greatly improve the efficiency of aircraft unsteady aerodynamic design and flight dynamics analysis.In this paper,aiming at the problems of poor generalization of traditional aerodynamic models and intelligent models,an intelligent aerodynamic modeling method based on gated neural units is proposed.The time memory characteristics of the gated neural unit is fully utilized,thus the nonlinear flow field characterization ability of the learning and training process is enhanced,and the generalization ability of the whole prediction model is improved.The prediction and verification of the model are carried out under the maneuvering flight condition of NACA0015 airfoil.The results show that the model has good adaptability.In the interpolation prediction,the maximum prediction error of the lift and drag coefficients and the moment coefficient does not exceed 10%,which can basically represent the variation characteristics of the entire flow field.In the construction of extrapolation models,the training model based on the strong nonlinear data has good accuracy for weak nonlinear prediction.Furthermore,the error is larger,even exceeding 20%,which indicates that the extrapolation and generalization capabilities need to be further optimized by integrating physical models.Compared with the conventional state space equation model,the proposed method can improve the extrapolation accuracy and efficiency by 78%and 60%,respectively,which demonstrates the applied potential of this method in aerodynamic modeling. 展开更多

Eco-friendly electromagnetic wave absorbing materials with excellent thermal infrared stealth property,heat-insulating ability and compression resistance are highly attractive in practical applications.Meeting the aforesaid requirements simultaneously is a formidable challenge.Herein,ultra-light carbon aerogels were fabricated via fresh shaddock peel by facile freeze-drying method and calcination process,forming porous network architecture.With the heating platform temperature of 70℃,the upper surface temperatures of the as-prepared carbon aerogel present a slow upward trend.The color of the sample surface in thermal infrared images is similar to that of the surroundings.With the maximum compressive stress of 2.435 kPa,the carbon aerogels can provide favorable endurance.The shaddock peel-based carbon aerogels possess the minimum reflection loss value(RLmin)of−29.50 dB in X band.Meanwhile,the effective absorption bandwidth covers 5.80 GHz at a relatively thin thickness of only 1.7 mm.With the detection theta of 0°,the maximum radar cross-sectional(RCS)reduction values of 16.28 dB m^(2) can be achieved.Theoretical simulations of RCS have aroused extensive interest owing to their ingenious design and time-saving feature.This work paves the way for preparing multi-functional microwave absorbers derived from biomass raw materials under the guidance of RCS simulations. 展开更多

The aerodynamic model of propeller,wing,fuselage and vertical tail are established for the tilt quad rotor(TQR)with partial tilt-wing,and then the flight dynamic model is established.Based on the six-degree-of-freedom equation and the small disturbance linearization assumption,the trimming and stability of the tilt quad rotor with partial tilt-wing and the tilt quad rotor without tilt-wing are analyzed.The results show that in the hovering state,due to the existence of tilt-wing,the propeller wake reduces the downwash on the wing,thereby reducing the vertical weight gain of the aircraft.It is beneficial to increase the endurance time and improve the endurance performance.The transition corridor of the TQR with tilt-wing is narrower than that of the TQR without tilt-wing,but the transition corridor of TQR with tilt-wing still has a large space for design.Furthermore,the stability analysis shows that the Dutch roll damping ratio is larger,and in other modes the aircraft has a certain stability.The manipulation response analysis shows that in the transition mode the lateral-directional coupling is strong. 展开更多
