Yuanmousaurusjiangyiensis gen. et sp. nov. is erected based on an incomplete skeleton. It is characterized by more complex structures of the neural arches in the dorsal vertebrae than those in Omeisaurus, but less complex than those of Euhelopus; the dorsal vertebra bears 9 laminae, forming three cavities on the lateral surface of the neural arch; the dorsal vertebral neural spines with dorsoventrally-oriented cavities are similar to those of Omeisaurus and Patagosaurus. Yuanmousaurus is more primitive than Euhelopus, but more derived than Omeisaurus. The similar dorsal vertebral structure between Yuanmousaurus and Patagosaurus may indicate that they have a close relationship to each other. 展开更多

A new mamenchisaurid dinosaur, Eomamenchisaurus yuanmouensis gen et sp. nov. is erected based on an incomplete skeleton from the Zhanghe Formation, the Middle Jurassic of Yuanmou, Yunnan Province. The new taxon is characterized by absence of pleurocoels in dorsal vertebrae and the dorsal verterbrae with slightly convex anterior articular surfaces, moderately concave posterior articular surfaces; the fourth trochanter is developed posteromedially on the femur; length ratio of the tibia to the femur is approximately 0.64; and the shaft of the ischium is rod-like. Two fused centra of the posterior dorsal vertebrae (the presumed 9th and the 10th dorsal vertebrae) are similar to those in other mamenchisaurid dinosaurs, including Mamenchisaurus hochuanesis, M. youngi and Chuanjiesaurus anaensis. Therefore, fusion of centra of the ninth and the tenth dorsal vertebrae can be recognized as a synapomorphic character of the Mamenchisauridae. 展开更多

禄丰古猿蝴蝶种 (Lufengpithecus hudienensis) 也称蝴蝶古猿,是重要的早期人科成员,化石产自云南元谋盆地竹棚-小河及雷老两个地点群,其年代为中新世晚期。上世纪八、九十年代的发掘工作共获得幼年个体颅骨1具、残上颌骨10件、残下颌... 禄丰古猿蝴蝶种 (Lufengpithecus hudienensis) 也称蝴蝶古猿,是重要的早期人科成员,化石产自云南元谋盆地竹棚-小河及雷老两个地点群,其年代为中新世晚期。上世纪八、九十年代的发掘工作共获得幼年个体颅骨1具、残上颌骨10件、残下颌骨17件及1500多枚单个牙齿。受限于当时的技术条件,蝴蝶古猿牙齿内部结构及三维形态一直未有报道和对比研究。本文首次使用高精度CT配合三维几何形态测量方法,对6枚产自小河地点的蝴蝶古猿下颌第四前臼齿的釉质-齿质交界面形态进行了观察和对比,对比材料包括步氏巨猿、猩猩(化石)、大猩猩、黑猩猩及现代人。多变量分析显示,蝴蝶古猿釉质-齿质交界面几何形态接近于本文所涉及的大型猿类对比标本,但并没有表现出与某一特定类群的相似性;咬合面轮廓狭长,前凹尺寸明显小于后凹;整体形态介于齿质尖较高的大猩猩和齿质尖较低、釉质-齿质交界面形态扁平的巨猿、猩猩和黑猩猩之间。本文所观察到的类群之间的异同可能与趋同演化有关,也需要更多数据的进一步验证。将釉质-齿质交界面的三维几何形态和其他牙齿内部结构的信息(如釉质厚度及其三维分布规律等)综合,有助于进一步讨论蝴蝶古猿的分类学、系统发育和食性。 展开更多

Preliminary study on enamel microstructure of 5 lower permanent incisors of Late Mio-cene Yuanmou hominoids was conducted using a scanning electron microscope (SEM). The enamel incremental markings, as well as perikymata spacing and its periodicity were observed and counted. Using the perikymata number and periodicity, the crown formation times of the incisors are estimated. The transverse and longitudinal microstructures of the enamel prisms are also ob-served. Comparison of the dental development and enamel microstructure features of Yuanmou hominoids with those of Lufeng hominoids shows that there are similarities and also some differ-ences between them. The relationship between Yuanmou hominoids and early hominids is dis-cussed. 展开更多

云南地区中新世晚期的玛姆象和嵌齿象类化石的归类一直存在较多的争议,尤其是涉及中华乳齿象(Sinomastodon)的起源问题。本文对此前发表及最近发现的产自元谋盆地中新世晚期小河组(8.2-7.2Ma)的玛姆象类化石进行了深入研究,从中辨认出... 云南地区中新世晚期的玛姆象和嵌齿象类化石的归类一直存在较多的争议,尤其是涉及中华乳齿象(Sinomastodon)的起源问题。本文对此前发表及最近发现的产自元谋盆地中新世晚期小河组(8.2-7.2Ma)的玛姆象类化石进行了深入研究,从中辨认出了两个颊齿形态截然不同的类群。一类颊齿轭形化程度高,将其鉴定为曾经在禄丰、昭通等地报道的禄丰玛姆象(Mammut lufengense),代表了高轭型化的玛姆象类在中国南方中新世晚期的一个分支。另一类鉴定为竹棚上新乳齿象(Pliomastodon? zhupengensis comb. nov.),如同期的其他玛姆象类,比如马修上新乳齿象(Pliomastodonmatthewi)和斜脊玛姆象(Mammutobliquelophus),竹棚上新乳齿象具有直而略向上弯的上门齿,下颌联合部中等伸长,具有短棒状的下门齿,但它的颊齿轭形化程度低,具有如下特征:齿嵴和新月嵴粗钝,保存主齿柱中心小尖,侧视主齿柱达到齿谷的一半高度,副齿柱分裂程度低,以上特征与禄丰玛姆象等高轭形化的类群相区别。竹棚上新乳齿象颊齿形态特征继承了中国北方中新世中期的戈壁中新乳齿象(Miomastodongobiensis),又与其后昭通盆地(6.5-6.0Ma)的先中间中华乳齿象(Sinomastodonpraeintermedius)有被继承的关系,很可能是后者的祖先。中华乳齿象不大可能是比它晚的美洲的南方乳齿象(Notiomastodon)(2.5-0.01 Ma)演化而来,也可能如早期所认为的归为玛姆象类,而非嵌齿象类。 展开更多
