Presently, the growing reputation of social networks has given us with an opportunity to analyze these well-studied phenomena over different networks at different scales. Generally, a social network could be defined as a collection of actors and their interactions. In this work, we concern ourselves with a particular type of social networks, known as trust networks. In this type of networks, there is an explicit show of trust (positive interaction) or distrust (negative interaction) among the actors. In a social network, actors tend to connect with each other on the basis of their perceived social hierarchy. The emergence of such a hierarchy within a social community shows the manner in which authority manifests in the community. In the case of signed networks, the concept of social hierarchy can be interpreted as the emergence of a tree-like structure comprising of actors in a top-down fashion in the order of their ranks, describing a specific parent-child relationship, viz. child trusts parent. However, owing to the presence of positive as well as negative interactions in signed networks, deriving such “trust hierarchies” is a non-trivial challenge. We argue that traditional notions (of unsigned networks) are insufficient to derive hierarchies that are latent within signed networks.展开更多

The f...In this paper the state estimation techniques are investigated over customized wireless network for a continuous-time plant. It is assumed that the plant is connected to the controller over the proposed network. The feedback control over wireless networks includes limited bandwidth, time-varying and unknown delays with a high probability of data loss. Reasonably, some of these issues are deduced from the wireless networks structures. In order to deal with these problems the customized wireless network architecture is proposed for this Wireless Networked Control System (WNCS) and the problem of transmission delays and packet losses which induced by this scheme is studied. The time-varying delays of the TCP based shared network is estimated by fuzzy state estimation technique. Thereafter the kalman filtering is applied to address the problem of optimal filtering for this continuous-time plant with time-varying delays. The re-organized innovation analysis approach is applied to tackle the network induced time-varying delays. The simulation results show the applicability of the proposed approach.展开更多
In recent studies, reversible logic has emerged as a great scene of research, having applications in low power CMOS circuits, optical computing, quantum computing and nanotechnology. The classical logic gates such as ...In recent studies, reversible logic has emerged as a great scene of research, having applications in low power CMOS circuits, optical computing, quantum computing and nanotechnology. The classical logic gates such as AND, OR, EXOR and EXNOR are not reversible. In the existing literature, reversible sequential circuits designs are offered that are improved for the number of the garbage outputs and reversible gates. Minimizing the number of garbage is very noticeable. In the present paper, we show a design of the reversible comparator based on the quantum gates implementation of the reversible DG gate. The reversible DG gate is designed by using 3 × 3 quantum gates such as NOT, CNOT, Controlled-V and Controlled-V+ gates. Also, we have used the TR gate and various types of quantum gates in the implementation results. Low power three-bit comparator is designed using DG Gate, New Gate and Fredkin Gate. In order to evaluate the benefit of using the DG gate proposed in this paper, one-bit comparator is constructed. The design is useful for the future computing techniques like quantum computers. The proposed designs are implemented using VHDL and functionally investigated using Quartus II simulator.展开更多
Rubber compounds based on styrene-butadiene rubber/ethylene propylene diene monomer blends of different compositions (60/40, 70/30, 80/20, 90/10, 100/0) reinforced with 1 wt%, 3 wt%, 5 wt% and 7 wt% organoclay (Clo...Rubber compounds based on styrene-butadiene rubber/ethylene propylene diene monomer blends of different compositions (60/40, 70/30, 80/20, 90/10, 100/0) reinforced with 1 wt%, 3 wt%, 5 wt% and 7 wt% organoclay (Cloisite 20A) were prepared on a two roll mill via a vulcanization process and characterized by several techniques. Results of X-ray diffraction showed expansion of the inter-gallery distance, and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) micrographs confirmed that the prepared nanocomposite samples have intercalated and partially exfoliated structures. Cure characteristics showed that, organoclay not only accelerates the vulcanization reaction, but also gives rise to a marked increase of the torque, indicating crosslink density of the prepared compounds increases at the presence of organoclay. Mechanical properties of samples received markedly increase by clay loading due to the good interaction established between nanoclay particles and polymer matrix as it was evidenced by SEM photomicrographs. At the same time, rheological properties showed that addition of nanoclay could improve storage modulus as well as complex viscosity of SBR/EPDM samples. The results of ozone test revealed that the ozone resistance of samples significantly increases as nanoclay or EPDM content increases.展开更多
An investigation of the optical properties of a GaAs spherical quantum dot which is located at the center of a Ga1-xAlx As cylindrical nano-wire has been performed in the presence of an external electric field. The ba...An investigation of the optical properties of a GaAs spherical quantum dot which is located at the center of a Ga1-xAlx As cylindrical nano-wire has been performed in the presence of an external electric field. The band nonparabolieity effect is also considered using the energy dependent effective mass approximation. The energy eigenvalues and corresponding wave functions are calculated by finite difference approximation and the reliability of calculated wave functions is checked by computing orthogonality. Using computed energy eigenvalues and wave functions, the linear, third-order nonlinear and total optical absorption coefficients and refractive index changes are examined in detail. It is found that (i) Presence of electric field causes both blue and red shifts in absorption spectrum; (ii) The absorption coefficients shift toward lower energies by taking into account the conduction band nonparabolicity; (iii) For large values of electric field the effect of conduction band nonparabolieity is less dominant and parabolic band is estimated correctly; (iv) In the presence of electric field and conduction band nonparabolicity the nonlinear term of absorption coefficient rapidly increases by increasing incident optical intensity. In other words, the saturation in optical spectrum occurs at lower incident optical intensities.展开更多
